This is a very worthwhile project but I can't help feel it is really a sticking plaster. Brazil is a deeply hierarchial society and it is hard to move out of your status allocated at birth (as everywhere else in the world - but even more so here). There is deep social inequality there and there is no sign that the fundamenal problems will end any time soon. Still, it's easy to be a critic and maybe grass roots projects like this in number, over time will make a difference.
