I think Port Charles doomed itself to eventual mob rule with its highly questionable choices for public office; Luke - mob front man and rapist - mayor, Anna - former double agent and jewel thief - police commissioner, Sean - convicted felon and con man - police commissioner, etc., etc. Even Bert turned into a crook. Not the best choices for fighting the good fight.

Yea, but as I recall he was all for it. I guess when the actor left they made it look like he resented it cause of Robert. I guess he had to blame someone so why not blame the guy you admire.

Well, well! I wonder if Bert Ramsey could have overheard Lee and Robert arguing about his eligibility as police chief, maybe he would have re-directed his anger towards Lee the following year as Mr. B? Maybe not. As we learn later, Bert always resented Robert, and he went to the dark side when Anna was appointed co-police chief with him. These are great scenes!
