Read the facts and not the "fear-loving" MSM. This is not a complete gov't take over and any accusation is simply false. TORT reform is a good idea, but that will only decrease the cost by 1-2%. Buying insurance over state lines is another good idea, but we need to have provisions in place that prevent ins companies from cherry-picking and selecting only healthy individuals. There is plenty of room to compromise but we cant think those 2 initiatives alone will "save the day"

I have read the Bill, yes all 2700 pages and I may have missed it, but no where did I read that congress and their families are exempt. I will look again and if I am wrong, I will surely apologize. In addition, I think it is a pretty weak statement to say this violates the constitution. I do not see how looking out for all Americans so no one goes broke over the skyrocketing costs of healthcare violates the Constitiution. Lord knows i would pay more taxes just so I have HC if i get laid off.

How does he expect the Republicans to compromise? He wants a sixth of our economy moved from normal jobs to government jobs. Having interstate competition between insurance companies is in direct conflict of an all government health industry. TORT reform was to bring down the cost of insurance, but if the government runs the insurance on healthcare, they can set their own prices, so TORT reform becomes meaningless.

There is no middle ground the way the Democrats have defined the rules.
