Most people use hairspray..... or butane but butane is a bit harder to ignite kind of liek your car starter fluid so yeah id say try hairspray a good 3 second burst or build yoursfl a pneumatic one :P

the two wires or electrodes on the grill starter may be too close to eachother. thats another common problem. try seperating them so the spark is about a half an inch long.

that thing sucks. the combustion chamber is way to big and you dont use nearly enough fuel. my potato gun has a 2 inch diameter barrel by 5 feet. the combustion chamber is 4 inch diameter by 14 inches. put an ignitor just like that on it. 7 seconds of suave hairspray will get me about 350 yards.

The BEST fuel is starter fluid- it's designed to explode as long as you have an airtight seal and a strong combustion chamber.

I have a question for anyone who has a tater gun... What kind of fuel do you use? For some reason this one is really stubborn to fire... it sometimes fires on the first try and many times it really takes some time to fire. Its either my fuel or its my igniter, I think the igniter is fine, but I dunno... any suggestions would help, thanks.

Yup i use engine start. by looking at yours it looks as if it sprays more in a 'jet' form so try getting a cap which sprays a bit more broader. Also your combustion chamber is very long try shortening it or put in another igniter

@Noblesquire The car starter fluid is too high of a concentrated fuel to get the right air-fuel ratio. You're best off using Aquanet/Suave hairspray or, if you can find it, Right Guard spray (brown can?). Axe body spray works alright too....

@Noblesquire i use aqua net hairspray the starter fluid doesnt work well because its a liquid and u have to wait for it to turn to a gas in the chamber i had the same problem when i tried using wd40
