  • this what got me into civilization

  • Ah memories :D

  • Hey guys if you like Civ 3 lets play come over and check out my channel! It would help alot! LONG LIVE CIV III!

  • Great intro, sadly the 3rd one didn't quite knock it out of the park. Still played the hell out of it tho

  • aaaah the memories...nights used to turn into mornings :)

  • @1greenMitsi yea i did the same thing

  • @Resolution1983 i agree, so far civ 2 and 4 are the ebst in my opinion. although i can't really be the judge, ebcause those are the only ones i've played....

  • fucking sexy

  • Civ 2 is easily the best. WTF happened sid meires or w/e ur name is. THE GAMES ARE SUPPOSED TO GET BETTER LOL FAIL.

  • Civ3 used to be a lot cooler. Just, the fact that leader's attire changed with the ages was more than enough to make it cooler than anything ever since.

  • I love this game!! Brings back old and fond memories :-)

Definately getting it back on my pc, I miss the old guy and his words of wisdomn

remember, if you chase two rabbits, you will loose them both.

  • Civ 4 is the best of all the Civs, but it is a complicated game so I think it helps to have played Civ 2 or 3 first. I bet new players who picked up Civ 4 felt overwhelmed at first. Civ 5 reverted backwards and is too simple, IMO.

  • This is a reeeaalllly good game I highly recommend it.

  • I have been playing civ 4 now for a couple of years, and I still want to play civ 3, it is my fav civ game (music is the best though).

    but the cd is broken-.-

  • On Steam for 5 bucks! :D

  • epic intro, epic!

  • I liked Civ IV: Beyond the Sword's intro better. But I'm sure this game is great.

  • this came out in 2001?!

    ...i feel old. D:

  • this is a great game only problems i had with this was sometimes unfair combat for example my veteran Infantry losing to a spearmen

  • @OshawaStateOfMind Hah, if you think Civ 3 had an unfair combat system you should try Civ 1 ... god, I hate attacking a phalanx with my tank only to hear that dreaded *clunk* ..... arrg.

  • @antred11 Civ III got a bad rep with it's combat system, I think it's actually better than Civ IV in pure combat (not including the upgrade portion). If you guys are losing tanks to spearman than maybe you shouldn't attack your conscript tanks against Elite Spearmen...I dunno, I never had much of a problem with it.

  • @OshawaStateOfMind if the spearmen was defending a metro then that actually makes sence... based on stats

  • 1:20 goosebumps.

  • pretty cool. merging all techs into one 'tower of babel'.

Civ IV had baba yetu and Civ V had hex!

  • How is Civ 3? I always wanted to check out the series, and I've seen that I could pick up the complete Civ 3 for $5.00 off steam.

  • This brought back memories, thanks! I don't see this intro anymore, since I now play with Conquests whenever I revisit civ3.

I remember buying this game at full price, and then not being able to play it properly on my PC because it only had 64 meg ram or somesuch! I still struggled through my first game as the persians and got owned by the zulus and lost when someone got a diplomatic victory.

  • ive been off this game for a good 7 years and my cousin introduced me to civilizations revolutions and im hooked again...i tried to get off but it kept pullling me back in... (sad face) its so addicting

  • civ three is my favorite

  • Lets Play the Philosophy Video Game !! Lets shut down the Currency in every country, and we better the world by establishing farms and growing trees for shelter.

  • I usually play this lots of times, than get tired, and when I am playing another game I think; I want t oplay civilization again!

    Will never stop playing this:)

  • CIV5 is coming soon. This will sadly be left in the dust. :(

  • Comment removed

  • Better intro movie than the Civ4 one 4 sure.

  • @0707vinceBaba Yeti is playing during the Civ 4 intro, my friend. You lose

  • @ganon167 - not even that good

  • @ganon167

That is only a matter of opinion. I, myself, prefer the music to this opening for Civilization III compared to Civilization IV. This opening for Civilization III has a more epic and serious type of nature to it then Yeti.

  • 0:48 - Look left, it's the Disney Castle!

  • @0YTMan seems too much like that, but it's not meant to be, i guess

  • This and the 'Play the world' tailer for this game are the best trailers I have ever seen.

  • so deep. truely is a extraordinary into. cant think of many intos that are better :D

  • @todd573 Fallout 1's?

  • This is one of the most epic intros to any game. I love how the drums kick in when the name appears in the sky.

  • There is a much different Intro that comes with Civ3 Gold that i like much better! has better music with it too.

  • I love this trailer! Best part of playing the game is having to go through the intro.

  • those who say that Loz OOT is the best game in the world, haven't obviously played civ3!

  • Unless they have modern supports or something, I don't believe that tower has a good foundation.

  • took me 2 weeks to learn what that tower was

  • this is probabably the deepest most thoughtfull and mysterius trailer i have ever seen. amazeing!

  • Takes me way back.

  • I got this game right after grade school; before that I played single-player pseudo-civ games using uno stacko(cultural borders) lego duplo(units, buildings, cities) used AA batteries(nukes!) and laser pointers(SDI). I remember having so much fun that a single game would last a few days! You can imagine how excited I was when I got my copy of civ3 and first saw this video.

    Thanks for uploading!

  • this game was so hard but I loved it! This was the first Civ game I played. :) good times good times.

  • The tower of babel.

  • tanfoculta I saw it

  • This game was so boss, this totally rocked my shit in 5th grade .... anybody else?

  • this game is so fucking hard that only way i win is by edicting the rules

  • Oh, wow. That is seriously really sad. I love this game and it is not hard.

  • idk but is hard for me still learning

  • Yah, I guess it helps alot if you play all the Civ games in Chronological order... good luck with the gaming.

  • i loved it too, but I havn't won a singel game! It is hard. But, even if I lost every game, i loved playing it.

  • 0:47

    Sleeping Beauty's Castle from Disneyland.

  • great idea and civ 3 is way much better than civ 4

  • This intro was an original idea, what with the tower and all, but it turned out rather dull... it just didn't have any of that cinematic beauty as the Call to Power series always had.

  • Babylon tower?

  • I am in love with this game!!!

  • how do get in modern age

  • to get to the modern age u keep playing DOYY!!

  • 1:13...best part.

  • can i anyone help me i play the game and make it to the Modern age but can never get the good troops in the back no matter how maney times it just ends in like 2004 or something like that for me i cant when i fisrt got it i got as far as the battle ship can u make the game like annilhation

  • Wow!! This came out in 2001! Already 8 years ago! I remember buying it the first day it came out.

I got tired of Civ 4 about 2 years ago, and got curious about a Civ 5? I see it is in production?

  • ive got this game but dont no how to play... any1 help?

  • You should get Civ IV, it's a lot easier to learn but has more strategy.

  • it's like playing like a god pointing your own pawns and thats all

  • Imagine a "Tower of History" like that.

..I want to live in it.

  • @SwordStriker

It actually represents the tower of babylon (name) from the bible. The people tryed to reach for the heavens, but god dismissed the idea of sin being in his haven, so he destoryed it and made the humans seperate by launguage and religon.

  • @TheHKY09

Well I can see that, but I'm sure the tower of Babel wasn't made of mud at stone at the bottom and skyscrapers at the top.

  • @SwordStriker it's babel tower.

  • @alberto16433 finally a person who knows real history :D unless all those other 38 people who didnt know ;p Its a great game!

  • i absolutely love this game but i can never get past the industrial age because all the othe civs start taking advantage of me and get together to wipe me out :(

  • I'm sorry to hear that. It used to happen to me too, then i found that if you make a big army in the beginning you might have a chance to win, also if you have a lot of gold then try to give some (very little ) to the other Civilizations as a gift. I hope that helps. I don't really know how to let someone i just do it on the computer.

  • I'm gonna try what you said about giving them a bit of gold to get on their good side. I might be able to last a little longer thanks for the tip.

  • Civ3com is thee best game. i would be playing it right now. but i cant find my civ CD, i lost it :'''(

  • no...civ iv is for my big disapointed.CIV 3 is best CIv at all

Civ 4...zu kompliziert and no point

  • thw tower looks like Saouron's... but it's unfinished...

  • and it also goes through time in terms of technology!

  • Is this game turn-based or not because i am giving serious thought to buying it

  • It is turn-based game, its about rising a civilization, but its not all about war, you also control your population, gov, economy, resources, trades whit another civs, infrastructure if you just want a simple war game go buy age of empires xD.

i personally liked it, its pretty addictive for most stragedy lovers.

  • It's a highly addictive drug. Play it once, and you'll never stop playing it.

  • @royceoytube i know spent the whole night playing didint even notice it was six in the morning

  • @royceoytube Civ4 is more addictive.

  • @rhinnawi95 Civ5 is more addictive.

  • @royceoytube Yeah i stooped playing it like a year ago but i still want to play it I am way to lazy to get up and get the CD and suave it in the computer LOL!!!

  • i love this game, and ya i have it.

  • Civilization III Complete, i cant seem to find the first civilization. is this all in one? also would i be able to play on windows vista?

this looks like an awesome game

  • this isn't the theme in civ3 complete, wth?

  • This movie blew me away when I first got it years ago.

idk. I thought that this was pretty damn cool :D

  • I was just playing the game and one of the in-game songs reminded me of a tune that goes like"ba da bada bow de bow or something like that...not sure about the name though :(

  • Can anybody tell me what PATCHES work for this version?

  • Isn't that building the Tower of Babel?

  • Nah, it's building upon the layers of history, one bringing about and supporting the other. That is civilization.

  • I have Civilization IV but still look at a picture of the tower of babel, it almost looks the same.

  • Watch how the architecture and machinery changes as you go from "level" to "level" - it's very subtle, but it does shift as you go.

  • The video *is* actually a reference to the building of the Tower of Babel, if you take a careful look at the architecture, and the many "popular" depictions.

Also, make of the further information what you will: Pieter Bruegel's painting "The Tower of Babel" (1563) is used for the cover art; and the advance of "Monotheism" is represented by the all-seeing eye.

Luciferian symbology has an interesting way of hiding in plain sight.

  • 3 original beyond the sword and a new one i forgot the name

  • its 14 new i think

  • Dang, that granary took forever to build. We must've gone through four or five technological ages, but dang it was worth it!

  • you couldve just built the pyramids and it couldve gave all the cities in your continent a granery

  • Wait, oh my god. If you stop at 00:48-00:51, I swear you can see Sleeping Beauty's Castle from Disneyland.

  • idk if i should buy this game but it looks good so i think so

  • civi 4 is beter

  • Hopefully Civ IV is better than III - otherwise there would be no progress!? ;=)

However in Civ IV i really missed the possiblity to remove or evacuate a city. Civ III had this, and already for III i wished any regular gameplay option to move/relocate a city at least one square anyhow - in particular related on resources that apprear over the ages.

  • i h8 civ iv its graphically confused and its not as classic as civ III

  • @KillerGremal Speaking of lack of progress, was anyone else super-dissapointed by CiV?

  • @jpheitman Totally... :( and i was so hyped when i first heard of it. Now im trying to mod the hell out of my civ iv so i can play it again as a fresh game :)

  • @Juusiksi123 Civ III is better

  • 7 years, so hard to believe.

  • All hail Civ III!

I got it july 2002... Sweet memories...

  • Omg, this is the ORGINAL civ 3 intro, the very first version of civ3...so many memories

  • witch one is better 3 or 4

  • Definently 4.

  • ESTE JUEGO ES UNO DE MIS FAVORITOS!!

  • ah takes be back to 2002 when i first brought this game. been addicted to this game ever since. Civ 3 was my entry into the series love it. i have Civ 4: beyond the sword it's a nice game.

  • call to power>civ

  • Yea.. reminds me on my past when I played this game. Kickass!

  • Civilization III is an older turn-based strategy game about building cities and armies to found an entire empire.

The game was developed in 2001 and had several game sequals, even a Civ IV is released meanwhile.

  • good video
