Maybe the guy is drinking BECAUSE of all the annoying debt collectors phone calls. It can be really annoying when I get repeated calls for the same names of people I've never known, even after I've had the number for years. This happened to me with my last few numbers. When I tell them I don't know the person I still get the calls.

I have no respect for "debt harassers" as they have no respect for anyone and they've been acting like this long before the mortgage/economic crisis.

It seems like they are cold calling. I think they are using "wrong numbers" as practice. Talking to them just makes it worse, I think they assume you're lying, or a least that there's a real person there to practice harassment on. Maybe they are being paid by the cell phone companies to annoy every land-line number holder. If I ever get in debt I will never deal with these a-holes, at least in a civilized way; and they will never get money from me.
