Boy, I love Garnet amps. That Rebel sound very good. I have 1972 Deputy, which is basically an upgraded Marshall Plexi amp from the same era. My father has a Session Man, which has to be the best amp I've ever played. And I've played tons of Fender and Traynor tube amps. I may have to look into buying a Rebel. If only it was as easy to find a Garnet as it is to find a Fender.
@trentger1 I loved the sound of that amp. Too bad I put the head of it on the hood of my car in winter and it sild off and broke the tubes. Had 'em replaced but it's just not the same. I gave the amp to a friend of mine. He's enjoying now.
@LudgerSylbaris They likely used Mullard branded tubes. you'd have to find NOS (New Old Stock) tubes to get the same vintage sound. Too bad they are hard to come by, not to mention expensive.
@Johngtr13 - Neck pickup can be adjusted as far as I know: take off the pickguard and you'll see that the neck pickup has two screws holding it. You can adjust the pickup height using those two screws. Good luck
Is that a Palo Escrito model Telecaster? If so is it all stock configuration (Pick-ups/Neck)? How do you like this guitar? Do you have more video or images of the guitar?
It's not a Palo Escrito model. I've seen one of those locally. They're beautiful. This one is a Rosewood telecaster model. In the video the pikcups were stock. They have now been changed to GFS Fatbody in the bridge and DiMazario Twang King in the neck. The neck is thick and feels great. Do a search for the user ShortScaleGearDemos. I do a demo on there with the new pups.
Sounds great!!! I've got an old Garnet Deputy I amp.... 1970's vintage. I run it with a couple of THD Yellowjackets so it doesn't "blow my brains out". Maybe one day I will get a clip up on Youtube of me playing some "Brit Blues" with it!!! Rock on! Long live Garnet and vintage gear...
Is there snare buzzing in that room?

Good job. I have the same guitar. It's quite odd that the neck pickup height can't be adjusted. There are no adjustment screws!

Where did you get that guitar? And what did you pay for it?
Zepphead2011 3 years ago
I got it at Steve's in Toronto. You could probably find one on eBay for around $500. I paid more because I bought it new.
