Amen to that! Rice is my overall fave especially when he was singing, arranging and playing and NO-ONE can even get close to T's rhythm still to this day in my opinion but Grier on the the other hand, I'd rather hear his solos and his twists on the melody than all the others combined. I was lucky enough to play with this guy and hang out with him @ a friends house a few years ago before his gig the following day................Speechless....This man is off the hook!
@RezoFreak I made this video during the first set of a "house concert" at the Fiddle & Pick. There were maybe 50 people in the audience. Grier's playing was so intense at this proximity that I gave up my front row seat after the first song of the second set. But, sitting so close, you have a great view of his incredible technique!
