I feel ya on that wu-tang opinion. Classic albums like Enter the 36 chambers and OB4CL for instance took me a whiiiiiiiiileeeeeeeeee to enjoy the RZA beats. I guess, like you said, it's all about the expectations you have for the beats. If you start to feel the gritty, heavy, dirty and dark sound that is actually presented to you then you will enjoy these wu-tang albums so much more. At least that's what happened to me. Same goes for other hip-hop classic stuff.
@OFFICIALARTMUSIC Yeah , once I can continue to reconcile and sort out expectations I will start to enjoy them for what they are. I think the Outkast Stankonia is another type of 'classic' that is hard to appreciate when you have no idea what to expect
