Apparently something can come from nothing. Physicist Lawrence Krauss was saying something along the lines that empty space will produce positive and negative particles - such that their total energy, when combined, is zero. Admittedly, I don't understand how this works but if true would seem to contradict the idea that something cannot come from nothing. Given that he is an expert, I am inclined to accept what he says but of course, Ill have to read more about it in order to be fully convinced.
If nothing exists, there's no laws of physics therefore nothing is impossible therefore, why can't something come from nothing? it seems illogical but that's the point, nothing is illogical, there is no logic.

God is a spirit, an immaterial conscious being. All things in the universe consists of matter and/or energy, so if God isn't matter, is energy by definition. Energy is the capacity to do work, is eternal, omnipresent, wasn't created and can't be destroyed, can create matter, was the only thing present before the BB, and the energy required to make the universe must had been powerful. All these match Biblical descriptions of God. Therefore is plausible God exists.

@doomcss The wages of sin is death. Jesus died for ALL of our sins. Therefore, before Christ, all of those laws would have been applicable. Christ died, so we could live eternally with him. Christ already paid the price for all of us. If Jesus died for us, why should we be punished for our actions? Our sins do not keep us from Him. We are all sinners. We all fall short. Denying who He is, will keeps us from Him.

I don't believe we have any evidence of Thor, Zeus, or King Neptune. Nobody disputes people like Moses, King Herod, or Jesus Christ. Many may not believe that Jesus was God in the flesh, but they dont doubt that he existed. By that, it is 100% accurate. Not disputable. Any historian will tell you that.

@doomcss I am follower of Christ and would never do any of those things. If everyone lived their life the way Christ taught us, nobody would ever get stoned to death. And no gay people or atheists would be killed in the name of God. Jesus never taught to kill anyone, for any reason. Jesus told us to love God and love each other. He did not make any exceptions. Those who do those awful things can call themselves anything they want. But a Christian should not judge anyone. Nobody is without sin.
Facts. Atheism provides no plausible solution to creation/big bang cause. Theism is based upon faith and observation of Creation, laws of physics as support and evidence for a creator. Now is there absolute measurements to prove or disprove our assertion of a creator, no. So in a nutshell Atheism fails for lack of evidence and Creationism has some supporting evidence, but can't be entirely proven through science either. This is why the debate is at a stalemate and will remain so.

You won't hear people say that too often, but if you recall he was furious with the Pharisees i.E Religious leaders and called the church a synagogue of Satan. @doomcss Not for nothing, the Bible was not written by "A man". Christians do believe that the Bible is the Word of God written by several men. In fact, I think 40 men, in three different languages, over a 1500 year time span. Most of these men did not know each other, and certainly did not know what the others had written. Yet, none of these men ever contradicted the other. I don't care who you are, that's pretty amazing! No other "religious" book comes even close to making that claim.
@doomcss How so? How do you pay off 40 different authors over a 1500 year period? Remember, the first version of the Bible we have today came out about 25 years after Christ's crucifixion. That's very important because that means that everything written about Christ in the new testament was not contested. There were eyewitnesses that would have actually seen Him. If even one thing was false about Christ in the NT, surely it would have been challenged.

Even without video footage, there is no amount of money that would ever convince people that it never happened. There were way too many witnesses to the event. People saw it for themselves. Apparently something can come from nothing. Physicist Lawrence Krauss was saying something along the lines that empty space will produce positive and negative particles - such that their total energy, when combined, is zero. Admittedly, I don't understand how this works but if true would seem to contradict the idea that something cannot come from nothing. Given that he is an expert, I am inclined to accept what he says but of course, Ill have to read more about it in order to be fully convinced.

God is a spirit, an immaterial conscious being. All things in the universe consists of matter and/or energy, so if God isn't matter, is energy by definition. Energy is the capacity to do work, is eternal, omnipresent, wasn't created and can't be destroyed, can create matter, was the only thing present before the BB, and the energy required to make the universe must had been powerful. All these match Biblical descriptions of God. Therefore is plausible God exists.

@doomcss The wages of sin is death. Jesus died for ALL of our sins. Therefore, before Christ, all of those laws would have been applicable. Christ died, so we could live eternally with him. Christ already paid the price for all of us. If Jesus died for us, why should we be punished for our actions? Our sins do not keep us from Him. We are all sinners. We all fall short. Which would account for the lack of available redemption. People need to understand that there are numerous heavens and not just one. Facts. Atheism provides no plausible solution to creation/big bang cause. Theism is based upon faith and observation of Creation, laws of physics as support and evidence for a creator. Now is there absolute measurements to prove or disprove our assertion of a creator, no. So in a nutshell Atheism fails for lack of evidence and Creationism has some supporting evidence, but can't be entirely proven through science either. This is why the debate is at a stalemate and will remain so.

In fact, I think 40 men, in three different languages, over a 1500 year time span. Most of these men did not know each other, and certainly did not know what the others had written. Yet, none of these men ever contradicted the other. I don't care who you are, that's pretty amazing! No other "religious" book comes even close to making that claim.

@doomcss How so? How do you pay off 40 different authors over a 1500 year period? Remember, the first version of the Bible we have today came out about 25 years after Christ's crucifixion. That's very important because that means that everything written about Christ in the new testament was not contested. There were eyewitnesses that would have actually seen Him. If even one thing was false about Christ in the NT, surely it would have been challenged.

Even without video footage, there is no amount of money that would ever convince people that it never happened. There were way too many witnesses to the event. People saw it for themselves. If I put out a book stating it never happened and tried to sell it as fact, it would never make it to press. Same with Christ. People saw Him do everything the Bible said He did.

@NOISLAMINUSA Is eighter that or, a world close to 14 bilion years old, earth is about 4-6 bilion years old, scientists have found fossil traces of stromatolites (of cyanobacteria-life) which are about 3.5-billion years old, humans species are about 5.7 milion year old with all the evolution changes. And we have evidence for all of this... science dosen't explain god explains nature, if there is something in nature we can't explain that is becouse we don't have the knowledge yet.

This is the MOST annoying thing about Kalam (moral/ontological etc): they arrive at "there was a first cause" and then try and bridge the gap between that and "it was MY particular god" with a holy book.
If you can prove that the holy book got it right, you don't NEED Kalam (or whatever) - just prove the frigging holy book got it right! Oh, that's right: you CAN'T, which is why we have these apologetics in the first place.

Science will find the answer to the origin of the universe, of that I have no doubt. Where will the religious stuff the gods in then? There already exists so much knowledge and there are theories that hold great promise even today. Read recently that we've observed another galaxy going through the bombardment cycle much like our's did when the planets were formed. Awesome what knowledge science provides.

you can cite math and physics all day but the normal sheeple need an explanation they can grasp without thinking too hard. they are trained to circumvent logic with faith, and it is fear of death and non existance that forces them to hold on to these myths. you have to re introduce them to logic and its importance before they can accept that no matter how bad it sucks, when you die its all over. fear and magic will always trump evidence to the uneducated

maybe once you have felt love, or see the complexitites in humans and the earth, you might truly just understand how great and divinely designed it is. i mean, we are at a perfect distance from the sun to sustain life, and just happen to be on a perfect 23.5 degree angle to give us seasons and sustain life on Earth. study the human body, see how incredible and intricate every part functions in order to live ! just have a think
