PHENOMENAL. That scene when her son remembers what she did to him when he was 5 and she starts screaming... I could feel her feeling of shock in the pit of my stomach.
after all she just dancing. all thing she for her son with no dout also it takes some life away. she dances because she want to feel her feeling after all. she still knows she be here.or she want to forget something ? her son?
I'm not gonna lie. When I first saw this (on Netflix), I literally busted up laughing. I was like "What the hell? Where'd this come from?" But then I watched the rest of the movie and saw the ending...yeah. I won't ruin it in case anyone's never seen it before, but don't take this scene too lightly--it plays as an important message in the film. Love the movie, love this scene, love YouTube for allowing people to post stuff like this on here. Great...Now I will dance to this music.
@Raider577 SPOILER ALERT: Remember how she'd kept asking people if they'd like to try her treatment, which would take away all the bad memories (like her son or the bum)? Now think about the ending when she was on the bus. She put a needle in her, stood up, and danced, with the same music playing here. If you make the connection, you would say that this is depicting her not worrying about all the bad stuff and just doing what she wants--which in this case is dancing. But that's how I see it.
@Raider577 I see it as a symbolic representation of the character trying to achieve a shallow form of happiness, but the emptiness of lifelong failures prevails to prevent her from truly enjoying anything. The worry and skepticism is plastered on her face expressing her inner fears and so on. By the end of the film you don't see her face, but for a split second when she is at the front of the bus, and she is indeed smiling gleefully and without a care in her heart. She is free.
The opening and the ending are so powerfully beautiful and disturbing at the same time. Every aspect of this film is perfect. Best I've seen in years. Looking forward to Bong Joon's next.
The dance and song are haunting. Very few limits to what a mother will do to save her child. Beautiful song, Wonderfully touching and thought provoking film.
I want the music badly! Can anyone plz tell me where I can download it???

I have not seen the film but for me this sequence felt like a visual of Cohen's Hallalujah song.
