Sand accretion is a good thing for a beach - usually adds a buffer between man made structures and the ocean - Having buildings fall into the ocean because of erosion is not so good of a thing. Most people who live by the coast would rather have more beach than a cool lagoon facing the open ocean.
The process here is called "ACCRETION"...the ocean depositing sand in a given location. Somewhere else the ocean is ERODING sand. What this jabbering fool doesn't realize is that his precious, beautiful vacation beach probably looked exactly like in Dec 2007 in the past, and goes through these erosion-accretion cycles through the years.
Nature giveth, and nature taketh, or how is it the saying goes? Nature is dynamic, ever changing. But we humans, we build concrete buildings, hoping everything to stay for ever. But nature move things around. That is what she does. We better learn how to live with it.
definitely looks different. not anywhere near as beautiful as in the first video.. though, this i not erosion, but, more of an extention to the beach, and a receding of the the water.
Thank you so much - I'm currently planning a trip and the agent recommended the Tucan. After seeing all the erosion I'm reconsidering. We're heading there for our first idyllic and peaceful beach/jungle vacation and I just don't want to be disappointed. Any other recommendations?!
study coastal processes - this is a natural process, wave action erodes and rebuilds beaches - over time. Obviously storms compact the time frame. At least the sand is still there. In other parts of the world it is disappearing.
Some jack asses, can't keep their comments to themselves,eh! JCVdude thanks for posting this.

In the NW Australia, we have huge tides,
huge evaporation and huge dry rivers and lakes.
Tides are up to 12m. Evaporation is up to 4m per year .
Huge 12m tidal erosion can revive old dry once mighty rivers, creeks and lakes,
desalinate the country and change deserts to rain forests to provide more rain across Australia.
we need more energy, food, land, water and cooler climate,
Plenty of energy and HYDROGEN TO RUN YOUR CAR environment friendly.

Erosion and then Accretion, you seem baffled?

This voice in the video talks WAY to much.

Paddypen is right, erosion is increasingly devastating coastal communities around the globe. Regeneration of a beach is a sight for sore eyes.

Bundle...recommendations? Yeah...I've got a couple:
1. Reduce your carbon footprint.
2. Consume less.
3. Make food and goods purchases sourced and produced closer to your home.
4. Reduce your carbon footprint.
5. Reduce your carbon footprint.

yehp, cochranexyz. Overpopulation is the crux of the issue. Dammed delicate one to address politically, religiously, and personally, though.
