  • Hdd= hard disk drive :-) Once again, can device play mkv movies larger then 4gb from usb and external hard disk drives? What firmware is in your player? Thank you!!!

  • Does it support NTFS for usb and Hdd?

  • @vodacit Yes but what is Hdd ?

  • Does it support ntfs?

  • I Might get this one

  • i love the scottish accent

  • Hey, really sorry for a delayed question, but have you or anyone that currently owns one of these models ever tried a full 250gb Plus External Harddrive connected to such blu ray players? I mean does it register them or is it limited to just tiny Usb sticks

  • Great vid! 5 stars! I just bought this for a gift for my parents for Christmas...does it come with and HDMI cable?

  • @blackberryboldjeff

Naw, it comes with an RCA cable. Would be nice if they had included one though. But then the overall cost would be higher.

  • Blu Ray really is amazing. I just got done watching all 10 parts of Band of Brothers on Blu Ray and it was absolutely incredible. If you don't have that, you should check it out.

  • Def gonna buy BoB on bluray its a classic

  • Nice review Ray...i made the Blu Ray jump a couple of months ago...only got a dozen discs..but i can recommend Troy (stunning picture) and Casino Royale..being a Bond fan that was the first Blu Ray i bought... really shows off the crisp colours of the film. Dvd is still king in my house...just cant beat the prices nowdays but for the blockbusters and your favourite films...you gotta splash out a little extra to get them in High Def...

  • thanks Danny, yeah dvd prices are fantastic now, although some Blu Rays are good too.

I got the Casion Royale Delux edition for £8 , a real bargain.

  • Good to hear it up scales SD DVDs a bit, also Jessica Alba in hi def... nice :-)

  • yes there is a significant difference in sd DvDs .Might be because of the HDMI cable cause my old dvd made some images all blurry and ghost like.

JA looks awesome in HD :))

  • brilliant thanks so much much needed help on deciding what this is about thanks again

  • I have a BD 1580, I want to connect wirelessly but how do you, because mine is literally the same as yours?

  • Yes i upgraded the firmware from the samsung site and it could read .mkv files.

  • great overview ray mate, blu-ray is the way to go :)

  • Thanks Nic, hows your Blu Ray collection coming along ?
