  • Expert? OMFG who certified you? It has been known for many years that nutrition, weight training and cardio are what get a flat stomach. These exercises will strengthen the core muscles underneath the body fat. Wrong information drives me up the wall as I work hard to give client correct information and the industry loses credibility.

    Thank you all for replying to my comment. I was tired of hearing about how you will turn into a diabetic if you become heavy. My grandmother had Diabetes 2 (she was extremely thin), my mother has Diabetes 2, and I have the same. Our health care provider explained that diabetes was due to genetics.

    So, I just received an email alert about the response to the comment I left. This made me get the mote out of my own eye before complaining about some one else.

  • @catsgrowl, Actually you are wrong, diabetes can be hereditary, but its not always, poor diet, as you know can lead to misfunctioning organs, so if the pancreas is affected, you can develop diabetes. Someone perfectly healthy and with absolutely no history of Diabetes in their family can develop it. Pregnant women can get gestational diabetes, are you telling em that is hereditary?

  • I am surprised that a trainer actually stated that Diabetes comes from being overweight which means she is entirely misinformed. Diabetes (pre, type I & type II) are due to genes. If you do not carry the gene (as in genetics) you cannot get Diabetes. For type two Diabetes weight can trigger that gene but only in those who carry it. I think Diabetes should get more media so that people can be better informed and not share misinformed information.

  • @catsgrowl Not 100% true. Type II diabetes can, indeed, be "acquired" by anyone who is negligient about proper diet and exercise. Type I is most definitely genetic, but don't be fooled into thinking you can't get Type II because you're not genetically predisposed. It just ain't so.

  • @catsgrowl, you're right in every sense - apart from "if you do not carry the gene, you cannot get diabetes." In actual fact - you can. Out of 100 people with Type 1 diabetes, 80 have no family members with the disease, I've gone back 7 generations and none of my family have it - I do.

    But you're 100% right - people do need to research these things - and what's worse is that she's sharing the wrong information to people who won't even see these comments to know she's wrong.

  • @relu13babe That's unhealthy. I can mess up your digestive system, your heart, your teeth. It's HORRIBLE to do. Don't try that. A good way to keep in shape is cardio. Try jogging or running & jumping rope.

  • @sweetrabiya you should look sth on the ceiling while doing it not your knees (like she does). thats better for neck and stomach. the pain is normal - it means your muscles are gettin stronger ;)

  • WHOA! hostility! it takes a lot of cardio I agree there to get a flat/tone tummy but u still have to do some kinda resistance training to maximize results. So I've been told and read and by all the ppl I work at the gym with.

  • the first exercise is has the same name of another one i know "flat tummy" :step one-lay in the street...step two-make sure it is a street under construction.....step three-make sure there is a steam roller being used....step four- lay in the path of the oncoming steam roller(doesnt work in wet cement).....step five-let the steam roller roll over you (the pain is normal)...step six...go to the beach and show off your new bod
