You make a good point, however people use religion (regardless of which) to control and manipulate people. I personally feel that people should use their own reasoning abilities and down right common sense when dealing with religion and religious figures. These two are verses are examples, both of which may be interpreted to mean that females should be married very young -- while they're still virgins. If you consider the bible literally, you must recognize that it was written in a time when it was acceptable for men to marry child-brides. There are Christian factions alive and well today that believe in such pedophilia.
