  • congratulations, your son just went from genius level to typical average human level.

  • @AnteroX1234 yes I agree

  • ..it will always be denied of course because if they ever came out and admitted the link the lawsuits would be astronomical..So they deny deny deny..Its the vaccines!

  • Notice the kids always regress at 18 months..exactly the same time as the MMR and DPT vaccines..I warned my ex against vaccinating our then very healthy son as Id heard of the Vaccine-autism link...she went ahead and did it anyway against my wishes and sure enough shortly thereafter he regressed..lost eye contact, lost words he had learned, went into his own world..He has now been officially diagnosed as autistic and when we explained what happened to the so called autism the link was denied..

  • Great video and book! Regarding comments, its important to realize the difference from classic genetic Autism, and regressive acquired Autism. Classic Autistics do not regress, but exhibit early signs. Therapy is often a good choice, but they do not need the biomedical approach as their version of the A word is genetic and not illness based. This new epidemic of children are injured from toxins and their treatment options are different. Treating their specific ailments as well as therapy.

  • The below post from people.....some of them really make me sad. There are several levels of Autism. Just like any other immune disorder. When you have a fully functioning child...then BOOM...it ALL stops.....don't you think that's a concern? Our grandson has Austism. We're extremely thankful he's of the High Spectrum of intelligence. Yet...we will not sit by and just watch what happens. That's extreme poor Parenting! Education, Education, Education!!!

  • My son looked like he had autism but he out grew it, that's why it's hard to get a solid diagnosis, he didn't even talk to where people could understand until kindergarden, would stare and not play normal , today he still has learning problems but he's normal!

  • my daughter at 3.5 was diagnosed with PDDnos and has it NO MORE

thanks to early intervention. very true

  • It's still arguable whether or not these "recovered" children actually have true autism to begin with. There are literally dozens of disorders that mimic autism and countless of stories of children misdiagnosed as autistic.

  • @TheAutumBlog what is true autism? I don't think anyone can answer that anymore! Autism is only based on a triad of behavioral symptoms. At the time of screening, if the shoe fits! But I fully agree, alot of disorders are being diagnosed as autism because the behavioral symptoms are present. Examples, fragile x, mitochondrial disorders, intellectual disabilities, food allergies and intolerances, tuberous sclerosis, etc etc.

  • @NKKPPAS True autism is autistic behaviors that exist after things like mitochondrial disorders, intellectual disabilities, Landau-Kleffner syndrom, food allergies, etc are ruled out.

  • @TheAutumBlog the problem with the autism diagnoses is that it is only based on a triad of behavioral symptoms, so according to diagnostic criteria, as long as those are present the diagnoses will remain as autism. How many times do you read on the net or watch video clips where people that are diagnosed as having fragile x are also said to be autistic. Not just fragile x, but that which is causing their autism.

  • @TheAutumBlog

I totally agree. These stories are awesome, but they don't sound extreme. My son is autistic and if his problems were only that simple.

  • The boy is either Aspergers now, or was never on the Spectrum to begin with. The woman has no clue what she's talking about. There is no cure.

  • Thank you for posting this video. And it's refreshing to have a normal everyday person/parent speak with such knowledge about Autism. I've book marked her page and will look into getting her book.

  • if you knew even the slightest about autism youd know its about as cureable as adhd, schizofrenia and manic depressions

  • And if you knew how to spell, you would realize what you are saying is so untrue. Do some research and you'll find many children have fully covered or almost completely recovered. With Autism, you don't need medications to curb and or cure it. Try spell check next time. ;)

  • i have a mild version of autism, if i could be cured i would know about it

seeing i have looked for a cure but didnt find it, its safe to say there isnt a cure

anyway, what does spelling have to do with knowledge?

so far, only retards have placed any kind of significance on it

  • Don't get all bent out of shape because you lack the ability to spell. And it has alot to do when someone is trying to discard another person's information, yet they can't even spell. I never said there is a cure all out there. There are many therapies, diets, etc. that can allow a person with Autism to have a much better functioning life. But it also depends on the severity of their Autism. Not sure where you looked or what you have tried but maybe you looked in the wrong places. ;)

  • what a load of bull you spew

i actually am autistic, so i know what works and what doesnt from first hand experience

what are you basing youre belief on? internet sources?

anyway, yea my spelling isnt too great, complaining about it like you do shows you havent got any proper arguements, or youd use those.

i dont really care if my spelling isnt too good anyway, considering english is only my 2nd language.

ill also have you know im fluent in 3 languages and conversal in 2 more

    how good are you?

  • You are a very bitter/angry person. I never doubted that you are Autistic. Pay attention when you read. And I am not going to waste my time trying to outdo one another by how many languages you speak or what accents I can speak in, etc. Leave that for the immature. I questioned what therapies you may have tried and not seen success with but you have not responded and told me. SO WHAT THERAPIES HAVE YOU TRIED? Let's see if you actually answer.

PS- My basis is from actual cases.

  • if you asked, then where is the questionmark in youre other comment?

if you think complaining about language is immature, why bring it up?

anyway i have done all the work on my self, i am now capable of masking myself as a neurotypical

the only thing that changed over the years though is the way i appear to the outside world, nothing changes the inside unless i want it too

  • I just asked the question (formally) in my previous comment. You just continue dancing around because you have no facts, only your opinion, which means nothing without evidence. You be well. I'm not wasting any more time on someone who's narrow minded.

  • i replied to the wrong comment, but then; youll see it anyway :)

  • how am i dancing around it?

ill point out that im autistic again and that i therefor know first hand what works and what doesnt, nothing of what you say actually works on reall autism, so how exactly is it fact?

  • One of the longest and best interviews I've seen in a news show that really dives into the issues of and possible treatments for autism. Cool how much she knows - sounds like an expert, and yet she's just a mom who learned it all through experience for her son. Refreshing to have hope and ideas come from a regular person (you know: non-celebrity, without tons of money). Post if you know when her book is supposed to come out.

  • Hi Concordplanner, thanks for your comments. From what I know her book is coming out in March, 2009. Will definitely post when I'm sure.
