  • This was recorded on Saturday, July 14, 1979.

  • LOL...wasted advertising dollars here...NOBODY was watching this show

  • That sounded like Tom Bosley doing that Era ad

  • @tsliao - Nope, that was NBC New York (and WNBC-TV) staff announcer Bill Rippe.

  • Pure late 70s chesse. BTW, do they still make ERA?!

  • "SUPERTRAIN" was a bonafide disaster in the ratings. Procter & Gamble [Era] should have demanded "make good" {free} ad time on a more popular show, for having allowed the network to convince them viewers were actually watching this! No, that's wasn't Mel Brandt, 'firefighter'.- it was another New York NBC staff announcer.

  • @fromthesidelines - The "SportsWorld" and All-Star promos were V/O'd by Les Marshak; and as for the "Supertrain" sponsor billboard V/O, that was Bill Rippe. To me, he sounded at this point like a groggy version of Roger Tuttle.

  • wasn't that Mel Brandt who was doing the supertrain and other tv show sponsors on nbc tv from that year?

  • Boy, Alzado's got some moves on the dance floor.

  • I wonder if Colorado Springs was blacked out of the fight too.

  • The promos:

NBC SportsWorld, 7/15/79 ("Coverage not seen in the Denver area(on KOA-TV/KCNC)")

    MLB All-Star Game, 7/17/79

  • I'm looking for that theme during that baseball all-star game intro. Does anyone have it?

  • This is the "Tube" 4 logo that was used from 1977 to 1980. It is at 31 seconds in the file.
