Actually they don't, because if they did, the resulting offspring would have twice as many chromosomes as the parents, and the offspring would not survive
If each haploid cell of an individual produces contains 23 different types of chroosomes because it is given one chromosome from each pair, then to me it seems only one type of haploid cell can be produced, & this is not so; how come???
During sex, there is therefore a possible of 43 chromosomes to be passed on to the child. On;y 23 of these can be selected. Can anyone tell me how they are selected???
the organelles grow rapidly and are duplicated during the interphase. during cytokinesis, the organelles and cytoplasm are divided and split into the two different cells.
i'm doing genetics at college and i find it facinating. can you tell me how many of the four cells with 1/2 the DNA become gametes and what becomes of the ones that don't? My lecturer was kind stumped on this question as we are only being taught the basics, but i wanna know more. Thanks for the video :)
I could be wrong, but my Biology book says that in males the 4 haploid cells which resulted from 1 diploid nuclei, will mature into 4 sperm cells. In females, only 1 of the 4 haploid cells will mature into an egg.
Once you get replicating DNA bases inside something(Either A lipid bilayer or protein capsule) Then whatever "progress" in making more proteins can be conserved.
It goes like this(This is very simplified)
amino acids + sugar+ phosphorus=DNA
The Miller-uhrey experiment showed how amino acids can be formed from simple materials and in turn proteins can assemble from these.
If some DNA in any order assembled and DNA replicating proteins came upon the DNA, the DNA sequence would be replicated.

there are 2 pairs of homologous pairs or whatever their called which means this is definatly meiosis, the second steps (anaphase ||) and others , it acts like mitosis, but is realyy the second steps of meiosis. u can also tell because this is a sex cell deviding

plants produce their gametes by meiosis .... mitosis is only for cellular reproduction and bacteria

@foifoif bacteria undergo binary fission, not mitosis per say

They do, its the opposite for plants. Am not sure how it works since i don't know too much bio but you are right.

something bothers me, the nucleulus and the chromosomes were separated but what happen to the rest of the organelles of the cell?

No, you're right. Only 1 haploid cell matures into an egg because there isn't enough cytoplasm for the other three.
cheesecayke 3 years ago 2
its 1 haploid cell and 3 polar bodies. the three polar bodies disintegrate and the 1 haploid becomes an egg
cheyaaaxx98 3 years ago
The other 3 haploids produced by the female are polar bodies.

ok mitosis makes body cell meiosis make sex cell there alot of different of them they sound same but they dont
