  • that does not look like fun

  • The paint eater is useless... its just a modified angle grinder,

the angle grinder works just as well if not better, and yes it does work on cars really well, i used two discs to remove paint & rust from my boat trailer before i covered it in POR15. dont waste your money on this, the angle grinder will do just as great as job

  • 'it gives the most inexperienced user control...' No wonder that guy looks like such a pro when they give him that machine.

  • I'm using a heat gun to strip several layers off a Regency alabaster fireplace. I can see evidence of green and red paint; is that an indication of lead? I'm doing it with all the windows open, but should I be wearing a space-suit or something?

  • @blueray1969 yeah, definitely use a space suit while removing lead paint. NASA might have some on the cheap that they aren't using anymore

  • @FlyingBySea ah well - I took it off with just my lungs to defend me. Seems fine so far (although I am now a little bald).

  • If i have an older home and don't know if the paint is lead or not, is there somewhere I can take a chip to get it tested? I really want to repaint my place this fall.

  • @KellyMVL Depends where you live but in the UK you can buy a small kit to test for lead paint.

You just make a small hole and dab the solution on, it turns red with lead!

  • Sanding a home built before 1978 is ILLEGAL. Check EPA RRP lead free website. Fines are $37,500.00 and in some cases jail time.

  • @brokenarrow2222 Only if you get caught though. ;-)

  • @CainPire First, everyone has a camera. Second, the homeowner is going to be the first one to report you so they won't have to pay the bill. Third, their lawyer will sue you because you made their baby, dog, and grandpa sick. So many fun things can happen to the contractor. In my area, it's on the public announcements radio on a daly bases. You will get caught. I have reported 8 contactors in my area and stopped the work. EPA website to report RRP violations. Very simple to do.

  • @brokenarrow2222 I take it you're one of those "informers" that our crooked government just LOVES to talk to. Too bad you didn't live in Germany during the '30s. You would have been a great asset to the Nazi Gestapo. First, if it's my own house, I'll remove the paint however I want and I'll stick you in a dumpster if you've got something to say about it. Second, anyone that believes lead paint will make you sick by painting with it or removing it has swallowed the entire pitcher of EPA Kool-aid!

  • @CainPire You may remove Lead Paint any way you want. However if the paint chips land on my property I'll sue your pockets inside-out. Heavy Metals do not disperse in the human body. It can kill you, and its an ugly death. I'm retired now, but in my years as a coatings applicator, I have applied coatings that contained things that would kill you. But like asbestosis, It takes years to do it. I worked with guys that looked 70 or 80 years old, and they were only a couple of years older.

  • @brokenarrow2222 Furthermore, you REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, need to get a life!! Reporting a contractor about something that stupid??? Good God, how in the world did human beings survive before the EPA!? You may return to your Gaia worshiping now. It's amazing to me how many people have COMPLETELY lost their common sense, if they even had any to begin with! And don't bother with your manufactured data on health issues, because a lie cannot be used to justify another lie... unless you're a 'tard!

  • @CainPire Only one tard in tthe world and that's you. Basically the United States has become a police state or nation.

The posting was designed as a public service for those that are not firmiliar with the new law.

The commentator is giving bad advice and in case you didn't know because of ignorance.

  • i used this on an old exterior wood door with old polyurethane finish on it . i removed the door and set it on saw horses then striped it in about 20 min on on 1 side right down to the wood with out swirl marks and barley using up a pad. worth every penny. the customer was very pleased by her comments and i felt all warm and fuzzy inside.

  • I found that it works well on my bunions to.

  • cell9song - What surface are you working on?

  • hey Wagner, how about telling folks that your ridiculously priced replacement pads last about 10 minutes? Rent a Porter Cable sander with the height adjust shroud. Don't waste your money on this. Not even the Harbour freight version.

  • Why does he seem like such a noob? Doesn't he realize angle grinders have a side handle which makes them easier to hold so they don't jump around? And that water sprayer....What is up with that? why is he so angrily trying to spray off the paint? Then we get to the painteater...He STILL doesn't realize what that yellow protrusion on the side is for. Wait, he finally figures it out....I think.

  • harbor freight has their ripoff version of these i thought about buying but i dont do house paint wonder how well they work on cars

  • @tbirdpimp07 - Don't use the PaintEater on cars.

  • @WagnerPainting Why not

  • This tool is obsolete now with the new RRP law.

  • @dgg115 That law mainly affects contractors, not diy homeowners

  • @soakley75 If the homeowner contaminates the house and yard and sells the house, he will held finacially liable and legally responsible.

  • @dgg115 What is the RRP law?

  • wagner need to look mi invention call the aqua wire brush amigos

  • i love the way the guy is all sad and unable with the other tools. how about a pressure washer shooting sand?

  • he is hungry! feed him ;)

  • lol haha
