I saw him explain this on a talk show not too long ago and then they played the clip of the original interview and sure enough it was true. made me feel a lot better about Cat/Yusef. But he left the musical industry lifestyle to go on and do wonderful humanitarian deeds around the world, helped the poor and oppressed in many ways, all of this funded by his music royalties. He has been to hellish places, spreading the word of peace. I was confused and sad when he left music, but happy to know what he did with his life.

wow this is real music compared to the current crop of music performers who mask a bitterly absent songcraft skillset. They mask this with lurid lyrics, sex and american idol gimmickry to get the audience. Lucky for them the audience of today is just as low brow as the music thats being spoonfed to them. What was the purpose of using bulldozers to pull their own people out of Gaza? Cuba has managed to live with Guantanamo Bay on its island and feels no existential threat from the US.

I merely commented I like Cat's music, & wondered how it comares to Yusef's music, because he, w= called for the death of a man for writing words. If more and more Muslims like you would speak up and say that, Americans woujld breathe easier. When an branch of Islam decides to declare war on us, wee don't spend a lot of time trying to understand the nature of the differences between the muslims who want to kill us and other muslims. We presume that people who are Muslim and practice Islam in a different way would identify themselves and raise their voices so we can focus on our enemies. @hammad313 You do have a good point in that the American people do not always have the same "enemies" as the American government. We make changes because we change our leaders every 2, 4, 6 and 8 years. Our first president warned us against "entangling alliances," wishing us to be like a large Switzerland. But the ego it takes to be a politician in America (and the money) puts many of the wrong people in office. Most of us don't hate muslims, just see us being called Big Satan and r not 2 fond .

Bringing the behavior allowed by the religion into the 21st century, where you can't stone people for adultry, or kill your daughter for leaving your religion. I am glad that Cat has found the faith that brings him peace and happiness. I want this for everyone I love. But to know Jesus Christ and His teaching, to love Jesus Christ, and then to reject Him for Mohamma and his teachings, is both strange and sad. I feel Cat knew the Truth and then rejected it. This is the only reason I am sad he is a muslim now. May God have mercy on him.

for those of you who cannot disconnect from his chosen religion and these songs , we are ALL entitled to go to God wherever we find Him. It seemed a strange choice to many of his fans, as it was alien to them. But fleeing a world of material reward where Mammon was the deity, a life of service to Allah seems quite reasonable. Can one overlook his blatant disregard for freedom of speech with his answer to the Salman Rusdie issue? Well, he's not an American, and freedom of speech is our thing.

You are responsible if you give a speech that immediately leads to death, but what Cat/Yusef said would not be actionable here, even if he was a US citizen living here. Look at how many protestors called for the death of Bush. Freedom of speech is a lot more free than you think.
