  • only BRUCE 4ever! awesome version! \m/ UP THE IRONS FROM POLAND! \m/

  • they only changed the drums and vocals

  • i prefer this version

    bruce voice is more powerfull

    UP THE IRONS!!!

  • i like the original better, but any Maiden (minus Blaze) is good. I just posted my drum cover of Wrathchild. Please watch it and let me know what you think.

  • I cant find my ed hunter cd fate can be so cruel at times but thank god for the internet.

  • does anyone have an Mp3 copy of this version?? PM me, I really want this!!

  • And imagine Bruce was not in his absolute prime. He still rocks.

I would be interested to hear a recording with Nicko as well. I love him to bits but I would like to compare him with Clive in this one.

  • @oustreee See Rock in Rio, or some videos from say, Death On the Road or Somewhere back in time. He absolutely. fucking. rocks.

  • @oustreee this is nicko

  • @hentyhorsay no mate this is the backing track of the original recording back in 1981 with bruce's voice instead of paul's

  • @oustreee oh yeah i see that now. thanks

  • Interesting. Although they cut out Paul's vocals, you can still hear his backing vocals at chorus.

  • @theeville They didn't cut out anything u stupid shit...they're playing it just like normal? They haven't changed a thing...The instrument is not from the studio version.

  • I think I just fried my speakers but it was SO worth it

  • Comment removed

  • Bruce is trying too hard to sing this song. It always bothers me to hear Bruce sing Paul's songs. Its like Paul trying to sing Bruce's Maiden songs, ridiculous.

  • the massive bass intro treats you like a punchball...

  • kkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

  • I never heard this before and I've known Iron Maiden since about 2000...

They should have released this on a Special Edition of 'Brave New World'.

  • What a voice!

  • ''My mother was a queen, my dad I've never seen, maybe he was Mr Bean..''

  • @MaxPayneIzRudog

    Lols! Jonny English,King Bean

  • are you bruce then?

  • Guitar's are definitely exactly the same..there is no way it could sound that same both times unless you are absolutely bloody epic with amps and guitars.

  • @therandomsk8erben well they recorded this at the same studio using the same guitars so quite possibly (adrian and dave use the same guitars for almost all studio recordings, a 40 year old les Paul goldtop and a 45 year old Strat that dave's picture with on Iron Maiden. they still use them live today)

  • That's Bruce Dickinson (in 1999) singing on the original album tapes (1981)

  • this is a remix of the original wrathchild master tapes from killers.the only difference is that paul has been turned off on the mixing desk and bruce has recorded his vocals in 99 and added to the remix . the vocals are no way from 81

  • This is not recorded in 1999. That is definitely Clive drumming. Go and listen to the version on Killers. The drums, bass and guitars are identical. This is Bruce's audition tape from late 81

  • @tristicolos dude Bruce's voice is a bit different in the last decayed or so. You can definitly hear that this is from 1999. Everything is identical because it should be identical...

  • @nanoload Actually, listening again, I'll give you that. Bruce's vocal in 81 was obviously much crisper. I stand by what I said that the guitar, bass and drums are the original killers recording. Been into Maiden since 87 and been playing drums since 85. That is definitely Clive drumming. Solitary76 (comment above) is right.

  • @tristicolos No it isn't audition tape, they just took the master tape from Killers and put Bruce's voice FROM the 1999.

  • @tristicolos go type in audition from 1981 , its COMPLETLY different , in the audition tape his voice is amazingly high , on this his voice....is aged

  • @10078g still awesome

  • @tristicolos No it's not...

  • there is only one song from iron maiden (album) and killers that bruce sings better dan paul, phantom of the opera, in all others paul wins, because those songs were made for paul´s voice... by the way

    UP THE IRONS FROM CHILE!!!

  • @Ktlulu94 Bruce is also awesome when he'ssinging running free and iron maiden

  • THE MOST EPIC SONG EVER!!!

  • I prefer the Di'Anno version... I don't know, it's maybe because the "agressive and despreocupated" voice of Paul sounds better... Yeah, that's it. Metal voice doesn't fits in Wrathchild. Maybe Wrathchild it's too big for Bruce, or Bruce is too big for Wrathchild... You guys decide. If you tumb me up, good for me, and if not, it's the same shit.

  • @mypachomon you're right brotha :-) Paul has more punky voice

  • to me the best version is live from Live After Death, but comparing with the original... I'd say Di'Anno's version is much much better.

  • tbh honest theres no better version of this song between bruce and paul, since they are so different, i love both of them, when i hear Di'anno im like omg this is better and visceverse with bruce, but idk wat to saw specially coz of the advantage of Di'anno's of bein on studio, dont get me wrong, ive heard this son on live by paul and also loved it

u know wat? dont mind what i said, it is more paradojic than democracy

  • sorry guys, i must say...

    BETTER THAN DI'ANNO VERSION!!! \,,/

  • nah, sorry Bruce but there are certain songs that you own and certain songs that Di'anno owns, if you know what i mean, they sound good to your ears if you are a big Maiden listener

  • Preffer Di'anno.

  • Bruces voice just compliments the song...infact with every song bruce just seems naturally Maiden

  • Bruce just give a lesson to Dianno and Blaze here.

    What a fucking versitale vocals

  • I was born on Bruce's birthday.

  • @iXELTE Me too bro!!!! Long live to 7th august \o/

  • If you look at the cover it says: "new vocal version". So I assume the drums are Clive's!

  • You guys must be seriously deaf if you think this is Nicko playing... 1. This is totaly Clive's style of drumming...Nicko would 100% used ride somewhere in the song or some of his fills 2. Nicko never had his snare or tom drums sounding like this 3. And third....listen to original..IT'S FUCKING SAME DRUM TRACK Just equalized differently

Oh, yeah, I forgot to say... CLIVE FTW

  • Did they just have Bruce sing and boost the drums on this?

  • Coke > Pepsi

Drinking Diet Pepsi < Just killing yourself instead

    Iron Maiden's cool, too.

  • i think its better

  • This is on the secret track of Ed Hunter, but I recon it was recorded in 1981 with Bruce and Clive.

  • Good rerecording

  • guys that is still clive burr not nicko

  • @darkdrum1968 1999? fat chance

  • @Skribblingz Nicko's style is a lot more busier'

just listen to the oringinal the drumming is exactly the same

All they did was get Bruce to redo the vocals and they just

beefed up the rest of the tracks.

  • "For a man that's nowhere to be found". I guess they found Bruce! Will never get tired of this song!

  • Bruce Makes Everything Better, Espeacially This Song >.<

  • I think that Bruce could do better than that

  • @make940 he does it live :D

  • @make940 he does much better live ( rock in rio , Ullevi...)

  • Dickinson's voice is a classic heavy metal voice, impossible to confuse with somebody else's. But this song is better under DiAno

  • @FractalBolt disagree, but respect ur decision. both are amazing voices. Saw dianno earlier in the year. he's still got it, despite his declining health. \m/

  • sorry but Paul sings much better on this song

  • LOVE that bassline!!

  • @BabyHominid me too! steve is the man!! greetz

  • Yeah...it's the vocals that make it a 'new' version.I think ANYONE with a taste for hard rock, and a half decent voice, could lay down good vocals on this particular song.

It is kind of like punk rock with heavy metal drums.I like Dickinson's voice over Di'Anno's overall. But on this one I'd say Di'Anno layed down his most memorable track;along with Charlotte the Harlot.

  • @JBodine67 Got to agree with you on Wratchild, but Charlotte? Nothing here for that song from me. Sorry man. UP THE IRONS!!

  • @BabyHominid well,I like the part on Charlotte where it slows and the vocals get a little mellow then all hell breaks loose to the end....And I was going to mention Remember Tomorrow too,it's a classic.

Yeah,Up the Irons to you to BabyHominid....

  • Wow, I absolutely love Bruce Dickinson and Maiden wouldn't be the same without him, but it doesn't sound right with him doing the vocals for this song.

  • Everybody just shut up and listen to the song! It doesnt matter who recorded the tracks, just listen to it. Its Iron Maiden for god sakes! Love it no matter what!

  • Sorry but that's Clive. Nicko never nailed that solo drum fill after the guitar solo like Clive did. Nicko did it his own way.

  • guitars and bass are original from killers arent they?

  • Guys, not to be an ass hole, but I think you should listen more the old records. This is absolutely Clive.

This drums sounds exactly the same for "Killers". We all know that Nicko always inserted his style over Clive's drumming and Nicko is a lot more diverse than Clive, although Clive is a monster. Clive is a lot more aggressive and direct than Nicko.

Seriously, even the fills are exactly the same. Listen closely.

Then, when you read the cover, it clearly states new vocal version.

  • who the fuck are these people who dislike this (marvelous) song?

  • Bruce sounds like a drag queen doing Di'anno songs! God! They're BAD!!!

  • @LBHarbour

too bad he was a coke head and had no fucking desire, or maybe Maiden should have endured it too make him happy, most Maiden fans are happy with bruces singing, get over it if you are'nt.

  • @dudebeer36

I'm not saying I dislike Bruce. I love all the lineups. I just hate hearing him sing Di'anno's songs. Blaze Bayley sang the Di'anno songs very well. Better than Bruce Bruce.

  • @LBHarbour blaze baley singing di anno better than bruce..are u mad

  • @10078g No. I am not mad. Blaze has a deeper singing voice that more closely approximates Paul's deep and raspy voice. Whereas, Bruce has a tenor singing voice which is much higher, so that's why I say that Blaze's voice is more suitable to singing Di'anno songs than Dickinson.

  • @LBHarbour ya but blaze cant sing raspy at all

    bruce can

  • @dudebeer36 I think staying away from drugs is 1 of the things that keeps Maiden alive and kickin' ass !!!

  • Paul is WAY BETTER on his stuff. Bruce can't do the early songs.

  • @FPChris Bull shit !!! Watch the show from Ullevi !!!

  • i have this on Ed Hunter cause one Disc 1 the original and 99' version are on it.

  • Paul is better for all Paul songs and Bruce is better on his songs

  • I like it but its a tough choice choosing between them

  • I like "KIllers" original version better than this one. I like Bruce and no offense to him as he's the superior vocalist over Paul. But this version doesn't seem as inspired and raw as the original. Highly polished and not as edgy sounding in my opinion. I do absolutely dig IM's remake of "Cross Eyed Mary" by Jethro Tull

  • It's Clive on drums end of. Nicko would be smacking away on his ride cymbal through the middle of that.

  • @FraggleX100 Listen to the Bass Drum. It's obviously Nicko.

  • I love this version much more. Excellent!

  • It is the same studio version (with CLive on drums) only with bruce's voice.

  • Fooking nice vocal. Bruce rocks forever. The guitars are a bit sloppy.

  • I prefer to Paul Di'Anno

    nothing against Bruce.!

  • Is this one of those remixes where all they do is place Bruce over Pauls voice in the original recording?

  • Wait... I have the game (3 CD) and I don't have that version... I have the original Paul version. Was there a special Ed Hunter edition released ?

  • @FigureJuuNana

If I'm not mistaken, the '99 version of Wrathchild only appeared on the US release of Ed Hunter. The European version does not have this track, unfortunately.

  • Oh, thank you for the info. ^^

  • Oh, thank you for the info. ^^

  • I don't think so I have ed hunter and it was a bonus track on disc 2 i think.

  • @liquidlink6 nope not on my version-.-

  • it sounds like its the original but remastered and bruce singing in it.

  • i agree that is the original track. everything sounds the the same, that is definetly not nicko on drums. you can tell

  • Fucking amazing Dickinson is the God!!!

  • fuck,

    hoped it would be blaze,

loved his live version of wratchild,

    dickinsons great on this though,

  • Awesome, better than origional

  • it"s Nicko guys..you can tell from the sound of the drumms and mostly from the use of the drumms" bass pad..also,I don"t think Clive was able to play that drumming due to his health problem..

  • Do you actually think that if the sound is new then the drumtrack is new!?!?!? Clive didn`t re-play this song, THIS IS NOT NICKO, THIS IS RE-MIXED!!!!! I can see that you no nothing about drums or playing styles of Maiden drummers! You just make fucking clown of yourself!!!

  • Hello guys. The drummer is 1.000.000.000% the legendary Clive Burr. This is a remix. Up the Irons!!!

  • yeah, guy? You just said the drummer is 1% clive burr. lol

  • no, he's just not American.

  • hohooh la wea la raja

  • If you actually pay attention the drums sound different

  • I actually thought the drums were re-done for the longest time as well, but they just touched the tracks up and remastered them sound to sound new and fresher.

  • yea thats what i meant they do sound different but there still clives thats why people think ts nicko because it sounds diiferent lots of people argued its the Exact same

  • How many of you guys who are claiming that the drummer on this version is Nicko are drummers? Any drummer can tell the difference between Clives style and Nickos style. And this is Clive for sure. Come on for fuck sake!!! This drumtrack is identical with the original one.

  • this is nicko idiots!

  • This is just a RE-MIX of the original song, so the drummer is Clive! You have to be deaf to think that it´s Nicko playing!!!

This song can be found on Ed Hunter compilation (US press) and it was also released as promotional single.

  • hmmm then why nicko said they were re-recordin wrathchild?

  • Although Nicko`s foot is much faster than Clive´s.

  • @JUBEast

No one does these numbers better than the singer they were wrote 4. I know Maiden in a way you(most of you that is) guys never will. I´m swedish and 39 yoa. I came along as maiden were starting to make a name for themselfs. I was there when "HEAVY BIRTHDAY"(Nicos birthday) was (bootleged) recorded in Johanneshov. According to them self perhaps THE best show with the best crowd they had ever played in front of. Back the you could actually meet Smallwood and Harris backstage.

  • Clive Burr is the one playing in this recording.

  • I'm sure I read in a book somewhere that this is just Bruce singing over the original track - it's not re-recorded or anything.

  • Naw, that was the Maiden Japan EP from '82

  • Me gusta, pero màs me gusta la version de Paul.

  • That is Clive Burr playing in this song! Drum track is also just re-mixed. They only re-recorded vocals.

  • Nope its Nicko i promise.

  • That`s not Nicko palying drums that`s for sure! The drumtrack is identical with the original version. And why on earth would Nicko suddenly play this song exactly the same way Clive Burr did!?!?

  • Thats what i just said .. then i read your comment lol

  • NO its not Nicko its clive .. nickos toms sound a shit load better and if you listen to the original version its the exact same .. nicko wouldnt play the exact same

  • i agree its nikko but clive had great toms, sonar...just a deeper sound than nikko, i say that being a bigger fan of nikko than clive, however both are great. Clive made run to the hills what it is!

  • ops, i mean Nicko!

  • sounds same as the original

  • Bruces scream in wrathchild is fuckin awesome!

  • Bruce sings this song very good on stage but in studio not so good this is definetly song for Paul

  • drums are different, vocal obviously and you can here janick's guitar for etc.slide at the beginning of the song after bass and drums.

  • I prefer the way they do the chorus here, it sounds better with just Bruce and no backing vocals.

  • i think that they re-recorded only drums vocal and they put 1 more guitar because original wrathchild line-up is here

  • I like this version. It's totally different with Dickinson's voice.

However, I equally like both versions of Wrathchild.

  • Im so glad they hired Bruce, and Nicko on drums sounds way better than Clive!

  • i'd say clive was faster with his arms, but i like better nicko's style

  • everything but the vocals sounds almost exactly the same

  • guitars and bass, yes, but you can hear its nicko mcbrain playing the drums

  • @GraveDigger1234 i can tell yah, listen closely to the drums, its the same as the killer album, but just re mixed, a hardcore maiden fan should hear that! =)

  • @antefender unfortunately i cannot listen to this anymore cause youtube restricted it for germany...

  • @GraveDigger1234 Actually Nicko pretty much sticks to the original! even bruce in most parts...............

  • no, they dont sound anything alike.

  • I love the version of Wrathchild on Live after death, but why remix the original with Dickinson. It sounds horrible in comparison to Dianno. Bruces style never went well with the sound of the first albums.

  • Hell ya live after death version rulez

  • Bruce, you fucking rule!

  • Bruce is a great singer but Paul sings it better b cuz he has the punk voice

  • You need to chill out fella and have a beer. Bruce's vocal style may not be best suited to this track but then again i can hardly imagine D'Ianno singing something like Where Eagles Dare. I can't fault either of them in their respective eras.

  • Wow! We do have some sensitive souls out there! Thanks for the concern though. You just said exactly what I mentioned earlier. Bruce's voice may not be best suited to this track. Not sure why you went on to comment about D'Ianno and Where Eagles Dare. You need to read these comments more closely. I heard this version and I remarked. I can't put it in plainer English than I already have. It just so happens that I prefer the original which, I'm sure you'll agree, is epic and in this case, better.

  • P.S. If my earlier message bugged you then don't read BiBo240's comment, for Christ's sake.....! Although he has hit the nail right on the head, you'll thank me for being so diplomatic.

  • Oi swampmoose83 get back in yer pram and wind your neck in. Seeing as i wasn't even talking to you in the first place the only sensative soul around here is you matey boy. You need to read the comments more closely fuckwit because if you take the time to scroll down you'll actually find out on a previous post that i was agreeing with you and D'Ianno's vocal style is better suited to this track and the songs of his era just as Bruce's is better suited to the songs of his era! Simple really.

  • Time to get nasty then, darlin'...? Who needs to chill out and have a beer now then? I'm well aware of what you mentioned earlier you dumb prick and if YOU read the posts more closely you'll discover that I was responding to Twainname. Simple really. Why you had to trunk in with that inane comment, Christ knows. Unless you can be vaguely civilised, butt the fuck out! Ooops! That wasn't very civil of me, was it!?

  • It is obvious to me now that you are in fact the most retarded cunt ever to be shat out into the world. When can you get it through your thick fucking skull that no one actually gives a fuck what you say!! You obviously have a very high opinion of yourself which as you may of guessed i don't share. The way you write your replies makes you sound like some posh sperm gargler. I reckon the only time you would get nasty is when you take it up the arse from your lasses strap on!!

  • I really like what Bruce did with this song, but after hearing the chorus i'd have to say that D'ianno's version is slightly better.

  • i fucking Love the BASS sound ... 5 stars song ! .

  • Heard this song first on Guitar Hero and it's the one that convinced me to actually look into the band and heavy metal in general.

  • i like bruce's voice better than pual in this song but there both some badass singers

  • I prefer the original version, but Bruce is still a good vocalists.

  • Good job but this will always be D'ianno's song. I just heard the 1981 version; utterly superb...

  • I agree. I'm a massive fan of Bruce's vocals throughout his career with Maiden but D'ianno has a rougher quality to his voice that better suits this song. I like the original better.

  • Yes indeed. I still think Bruce is the absolute business but as you say, some singing styles just cut it better on certain songs.

  • U just heard heard the original and u think u can criticise which one is best?Sorry dude but this is lame.

  • Sorry dude but THAT comment was both lame and presumptuous. The '81 version has been on my Youtube Favourites since '07 and I have owned the original single for ages. So, to reiterate: This will always be D'ianno's song.
