  • I think Gnome 3 bursted there bubbles. LMAO

  • Wow Craig is kind of a fatty! Didn't know that!

  • Переименуем систему в мнэээ... Microsoft Bubbles?

  • @TheAndrey2560 its funny...cuzz he closed his account after posting this comment XD

  • This is hilariouus! My beautiful dog of a boyfriend is such a slave!

  • if appla shows this it will be magical and if microsoft shows it its bullshit

  • looks like a new interface windows media centre not much more than that

  • Windows 8 2012

  • Microsoft playing with bubbles lol

  • Это ещё фигня - вот если бы они начали думать над реальным 3D-интерфейсом...

It's not serious - I am waiting for 3D interface... It could be excellent if control of this 3D interface could be realized on technologies close to Kinect in X-Box and user could use computer for daily tasks by move of his hand just in air...

  • @gfh6WAsiDfG3Ni

"Microsoft moves into second place in top 500 company brands"

    -March 22 2011.

yeah they're finished alright, you might as well say Google is finished.

    Troll.

  • Just another idea stolen by M$. Two years ago I've seen the same 'concept' in the Osmos game main menu.

  • So what will this new OS be called Microsoft Bubbles? lol

  • No sure if want! but suppose would be good for average user... however windows is about development not socialising

  • Contrary to most, I like it. So long as they give us the option to revert to standard Windows interface, I'm sold!

  • So that means I will need to buy a round display for Windows 8?

  • Cool. Very nice. Of course,... it would be cooler if he was actually touching the screen.

  • holy-shit!

  • Иллюминаторы!!!

  • Иллюминаторы!!!

  • Амно!!!!!!!!!!

  • That's it, Windows. I've had it with you morons, I'm leaving you for Linux.

  • wtf? this is stupid!

  • A little esoteric, wouldn't you think. Rule one in designing software for normal people: don't let the geeks design the GUI.

  • Yeah....this looks like bullshit interfaces from the "future" that will fall flat on their faces. I am so sick of all these "minority report" type attempts at getting ahead of the competition. People want productivity over "wow" factor, simple.

  • Microsoft needs to start phasing out the desktop completely. Even Apple and Linux are starting to gear their desktop computing for mobile capabilities. It's a clear fact, desktop computing is eventually going to phase out. Microsoft should start gearing Windows to a more portable type interface. ZUNE and Phone7's Metro are good starts on Microsoft's part. Eventually windows will just be used on portable devices. AMD and NVIDIA are making great progress on mobile video.

  • @izlude2 100% agree with you on this. They need to drop the task bar and desktop thing altogether. What I'd like to see is full menu OS. Mice may phase out unless you're drawing or gaming, otherwise all you need is a pad that maps out the screen. Touch is the future, (not the screen itself) but on a pad.

  • @izlude2 it seems like a reasonable way to go. as powerful as video cards are on the desktop, the mobile market is making haste to catch and even surpass the them. a new UI would set unprecedented new standards that may leave the others in the past. we've had enough "under the hood work" and need to start upgrading and improving the ease of use and productivity standards.

  • @izlude2 cloud computing sucks. It's basically other people holding all your files randsom. Apple doesn't market itself as a desktop computer manufacturer because their computers aren't used to do anything that requires significant computing power other than editing movies. Linux is simply following the money. Mobile devices are popular because they are cheaper, aren't repairable or upgradable like desktops, so that means consumers will buy a new unit every two years or something.

  • Cloud computing is being promoted by everyone in I.T. , because it means they can charge consumers to access their own data, whereas before, consumers didn't have to pay to access their files. Combine that with shorter product cycles, and it becomes plain to see why mobile computing is so popular. It's more profitable!

  • he watched scifi too much...

and Im really shure it will work sluggish

  • This is a freaking design concept...do you know what that means, it is a bunch of ideas all thrown together to see what works and what doesn't. Look at the Detroit auto show, very few of those concept cars ever come out looking anything like the designs shown.

  • this is HORRIBLE! it should be just like android: a home with DOWNLOADABLE widgets, icons and A LIVE WALLPAPER!!!

also: a market, and more attention to gamers would be awesome

  • someone should put apple concept ui and i want to see wat results were goin to get i can bet they wont be the same like what they showing here....yea someone try it

  • Comment removed

  • This looks like shit. Its too complicated...

  • I would like a Zune-like UI

  • It would be better to give some small part of money spent on this... work.

At least I will pay all my debts and will buy a new computer.

  • awful. just awful.

  • This really is stupid

  • I'm only buying this if they put it in a shiny, silver case with an apple logo on the back.

  • My eyes bleeding by those circle round spin...

  • this is really stupid

  • Looks like something for the Wii, keep that crap off my windoze.

  • they need younger people working for them, i know middle schoolers could present something like that much better without fumbling over words. they're trying to get it right with the new interface making much much better looking than lists and columns of information but adding spheres/circles and shapes to it to appeal to the eye.

  • I imagine this will appeal to people who think "computers are boring". The same people who think anything that isn't shiny and 3d and has explosions 24/7 is boring. Yeah, let's let those people design GUIs.

  • C.R.A.P.!

  • Seems pretty useful for a tablet or other mobile platform.

  • Why does it SUCKnso MUCH

  • This looks shiny and impressive, but doesn't seem to be a very useful. Kind of shows what's wrong with Microsoft.

They have the technical know how to do stuff like this, but they have no clue how to actually make a good product out of it that creates value for the customer or how to communicate that value to the customer.

I would have replaced all people involved in marketing (both strategic and operative) at Microsoft long ago.

  • Is it just me ? or does this interface blow chunks ? Seriously !!! BUBBLES ?

  • does anyone even know what this would be for ? um no ? oh then stfu looks awesome love yah m.s

  • Microsoft don't have Steve Jobs, to make people believe, that this is cool.

  • Its easy to say its not good when you look it at the screen of You Tube. It might be great when you are actually using it at the touch screen or with mouse.

For example I personally hate apples gui, I have tryed and tryed but I just end to hate it even more, still peoples like it. I had great expectation for it but it let me down. So dont be prejudiced before you test it.

  • Crap!!!!

  • Crap!!!!

  • LOL more people dislike this than likes!

  • Virker litt jalla.

    Seems a little cheap.

Don't know if there is English word jalla :P

  • Windows Beer Cup

  • like it ! keep going

  • what the fuck

  • Terrible

  • Looks easy and fun to use.... RIGHT. Gotta go LOL

  • looks useless and pointless...

  • This seems more to be for tablets.

They prob gonna make a tablet whit a nokia and make this as its UI.

But for windows. nah. Sure add it as optional change if the user wants to but please do keep the 1 we have now as the default.

  • sucks

  • Oh please no! save us from this!

  • It's realy very worst feature i've seen ever!

  • that is too abstract, floating in space.. no structure.. please save us from this.

  • @cuz84d Not to mention that round shapes are just a terrible idea and waste of space in the first place. There is a reason why all desktop elements in GUIs are rectangular or square, because they fill the space to the max without having empty "holes" between one and another. What is the point of making these things round, so that you waste as much space as possible on your desktop?

  • Everyone keeps bashing Microsoft with their pointless comments that won't do anything in the long run...is it just to vent out your relatively petty feelings and emotions? DON'T be a bunch of vags about this.

....let Microsoft do this. It's all economics...as long as Apple, MS, and possibly Google keep going at it...they're products won't be as bad...think...if MS were to fall...Apple's products would suck b/c there wouldn't be an incentive to make good products...Competition= A Good Thing!

  • Is it me or all the bubbles don't even stay put, they're floating about for no reason at all. I have *rarely* seen something this ugly.

  • Looks as slow and unintuitive as impractical...2/10 for pretty colors and cute bubbles

  • @McFlanker just like the daily bubble at msn .com suffers from the exact same problem.

  • i would say .. just try it for 2-3 weeks ..and than let us trollin .. if it sucks ass ...

but to say (that shit sucks monkey balls) without trying out

is like tu suck monkey balls ...

  • @Gr1Ng00 Just look at the colors and the shapes and how it moves for God's sake... you don't have to try it first hand to realize it sucks. Who in their right mind would make a desktop look like that? It looks like a bad acid trip.

  • confused dot com!;) what is all about?does someone understand this concept?

  • @luumanio see the daily bubble at msn .com

  • I can't understand much of it.

  • This should be called "Faggot Interface"

  • The dumbest GUI in the history of man!

  • looks shit.

  • That is just plain TERRIBAD!

  • ich find das irgendwie cool...

  • ..no...just...no...back to the drawing board please...

  • I thought this was kinda cool, maybe not the quickest easiest thing, but it's hot it's different and I'm tired of the bars and shit, they have been around for longer than me for fuck sake!

  • хуйня ваш интерейс..........

  • That must the most useless GUI I've seen

  • Do you realy think that mouse and keyboard is the only one and best user interface for computers and it will be always the best? Computers are getting more abstract than commands writen by hands using keyboard. It will change in some day and this is first step to that new interface.

  • @PelzaK1: There are many reasons, why mouse+keyboard are the best user interface for computers, but the first, main & important reason is ERGONOMICS. I dare you to use a touchscreen PC monitor for a typical 8h workday. ^^ , ofc if the touchscreen is put on an even surface, maybe slightly angled so you would stare it down, you hands wouldn't get so physically stressed, but image what that positioning would do to your neck.

  • Comment removed

  • ... not to mention ppl who are blind, partially sighted or physically impaired. Touchscreen is already an absurd interface to them.

  • @AzaZeLgaming You are talking about minority groups. Fortunately, at least in the realm of consumerism, majority always wins :)

  • @AzaZeLgaming You forgot one important thing. Programs that we are using now are designed to play with mouse and keyboards... Because of that It's hard to imagine that interaction with computer could be simplier and in other way, such as touch, gestures or even speak. In the time of first computers, people didn't use qwerty or mouse, they just use perforated paper cards. Now we're using keyboard and I can bet, in next 10..15 years we will use something different to interact with computers.

  • omg...

  • Microsoft is panicking and this is the result.

  • ehm how the fuck should i play games with this O.S

  • this goes well with the concept of glance and go ...based on calender avtivities and daily events.....

  • i like it... it looks interesing

  • if apple had developed this interface it probaply would be the greatest thing in the universe, but as it comes from microsoft ist just a big pile of crap...

  • @luciusDomitius Apple sucks... sorry about smashing your little "uuuh everything made by apple ruuulez"-dreams

  • @Faustulos

i guess the irony of my ststement got lost along the way through the endlessnes of the internet.

the funny thing about this technology is, that it is just a case study or in other words a research project, and 99.9% of the folks who have commented this video actually believe it to be THE one and only interface of EVERYTHING microsoft will publish in the next few years. if apple had done this study, the same people would praise is as the onle thing to come.

  • @luciusDomitius Or then just kinda useless crap that people would buy anyways... :)

  • @gredenis

useles crap that looks cool (more or less). sadly, this is exactly what people want. most people buy stuff because it looks cool, not because it has a better quality or more sophisticated functionality.

  • @luciusDomitius

crap is crap, no matter who shits it. And this is a big pile of it.

  • @CoCoLo1199

    why do you think that?

  • @lucius: I'n not an Apple addict (or fanboy) but their ideas make a lot more sense to me.

And for the record, BeOS (now "Haiku OS") had window title *tabs* to use screen space efficiently, this was back in 1996, was really new, looked cool AND

    was practical. And fun too.

  • "I'n not an Apple addict (or fanboy) but their ideas make a lot more sense to me." That's because this interface makes navigating personal content more complex and time-consuming than before for the sake of an immersive interface. Immersion is not efficient. In terms of user interface design, this prototype is a few steps backwards.

  • как же вы надоели со своим облачным шлаком!

  • Terrible.

  • Full voice control ?? Pls answer!

Computer [short beep] - Open my browser - Play my favorit music

  • um no, will keep my pinned icons + quick launch bar setup in win7...

  • Seriously people. This is a design concept for the next or upgraded "MOBILE" OS. Like Windows Phone 7. You can see that he has his phone in his hand and he is talking about "tipping" it to go to different areas. This is most likely NOT, I repeat NOT a "Windows 8" desktop. But a projection of his phone OS. Like "oisiaa" said this may be a mode but not a required way to use a desktop.

  • This is Microsoft trying to be intuitive and showing us how out of touch they are with their user base. I just want them to build a OS that is fast, efficient, and doesn't require half of my system resources to run so that I can use the programs that I want.

  • Comment removed

  • It lame, it's not to professional... I hate it!

  • Just to make sure people know, this isn't for the desktop, it would be for the tablet or phone.

  • I think its a good way to utilise a device pretty much everyone has to navigate a PC... their phone

  • Is this a joke?

  • Looks pretty cool. Integrated with your work, and social feeds and the desktop view could be ported to any Microsoft portable device.

    I like!

  • Retard people need this, i had Vista for a long time and never fucked up, stop downloading porn.exe!!!

  • No way I would use that thing, specially with a hangover.

  • So, now they're claiming to have invented widgets as bubbles?

  • это режим для презентаций и режим для обычного пользователя. Хотя microsoft future concept like better )

  • cool ))) i want test it!!

  • how brilliant a bunch of circles ... good cause i was having trouble figuring out to navigate threw the internet. I dont care what the new operating system looks like fuck it could be the same as windows 98 for all i care as long as its stable powerful and at the same time doesn't eat pounds of ram

  • This is possibly the GAYEST UI ive ever seen. I would not use this crap,

  • Think about this interface paired with a Kinect! Now I'm REALLY geeked.

  • Vista was good. A big step forward from XP. This will be a big step if and when it is implemented. Will it suck? Time will tell. It is a step in the evolution towards the cloud and touch screen interactivity. Think about it. Your desktop will be set up as a scrolling background. Remember the 3D holographic interface in Minority Report? That's where this is headed and I am totally geeked about it.

  • в топку!

  • now THIS will suck...Vista was great...only idiots or mactards said that it is not good...but this one is really AWFUL!!!

  • @PRINCEofPECICA What? No, Vista was crap

  • @FiskieXS vista sp1 and sp2 were not crap, the original vista, ehh yea because it was new and drivers were terrible

  • @PRINCEofPECICA

total agreement from a Vista 64 Ultimate user here. Fuck Windows 7 and certainly fuck this bubbles-shit. Just give me a taskbar and the classic control panel, thank you very much.

  • @PRINCEofPECICA Vista was Great but Windows 7 was better

  • useless

  • I like the OLD interface. This thing is barely useful.

  • what the heck is that?

  • extraordinary awful!

  • Why does everyone hate it?

Sure, we are used to the task bars and desktop and having this UI is a BIG change.

I'll be honest, I actually do like it but it can be very hard to get used to.

  • It sucks who will use this interface?!

  • Nokia Bubble??

  • Looks absolutely fucking awful and counter-intuitive.

  • Microsoft = utterly unnecessary chilly-willy but no decent browser

  • nice concept / Geeks must be dragged and prodded

  • Windows 8 will be called--Bubbles

  • 3:18 do I hear farting ?

  • That's crap and bullshit. This interface is the second ugly interface i've ever seen. The first was Windows Phone 7. If MS will jump to this i will forget about MS products and I will migrate to Ubuntu.

  • LOL, why do I still use a windows anyway ? can't wait to buy my macbook pro.

  • This is pretty cool, I like some of the ideas behind it like finding out how my schedule changes and such.

  • To Microsoft: forget about it.

You are complicating the UI instead of improving it.

I do not like it, and will not use this unneededed UI.

If you force this ridiculous issue, I will give up Windows and jump to Linux.

Never Apple, as I abhor anything to do with Apple.

  • M$ sucks!

  • The interfaces are pretty much interesting.. but the functions are not useful;

  • really microsoft really? booooring

  • I hope this concept stays a concept because it's a rather awful UI.

  • So... Is this the new version of Microsoft Bob?

  • let me use a movie senerio...i wanna watch the latest movie everythinis sync to my calender... schedule..the orange ( for example ..will say ok i kno you wanna watch this movie but lets say heavy downpour of rain is expected...this where options come in...would you wanna watch the movie ..later today or tommorow its show around nine...it checks your calender.make sure it dont interfare with your other events and gives you options...jus tlike when u miss your flight..on a plane.i dont work for MS

  • and it gives u options as well..listen to the man..its not a ui ...

  • this make a lotta sense. did ull listen to what the guy say?.. this is jus like the people hub .. calender ...office (for wp7) right available from the screen..example if u go to the movies...u dont have to go into ur phone and be like what movie is showing...and it will jus show u what movie is available...based on what it thinks your into..sorta like what amazon do..this aint no ui its jus a graphical way of presenting infomation....

  • Looks like shit

  • Remember KISS.

This has to be some kind of joke!
