  • I liked this game but maybe just because i got it for 12 doll hairs

  • @DeM0555 is that supposed to be free? cuz they are not worth nothing, if you had a billion you could sell them to a doll making company and get maybe 40 grand for them

  • essflawcondodgeckindesimudstorliketersockity, the new supercalifragilisticexpialidocious.

  • It seems Yahtzee is completely oblivious to the fact that this pathetic game was completely based on an equally pathetic movie. It wasn't an "experiment" as much as it was yet another sad attempt to make some quick cash out of the movie's fans (and also a complete lack of innovation).

Cmon Yahtzee, do some research on where the game atleast came from :P

  • @Xuvial I don't think the game is worth that.

  • @Xuvial He's a game reviewer, he reviews the game - not where is comes from or the people that made it.

  • @acer0169 Ummm almost everything he says is mainly aimed at the developers of the game.

  • @Xuvial It's aimed at HOW they've built the game, not WHY

  • @Xuvial what movie?

  • It seems in every review he either complains about not enough games coming out for him to review, or too many games coming out for him to review :P

  • @WolfEhStrongarm and what hilarity it is!

  • I bought it for $5 u mad?

  • @TudorOnToast I bought it yesterday on Steam for $2.49 You mad?

  • omg you have SO MANY VIDEOS you're like...the best guy ever.

  • I don't get why he doesn't like this game...Yeah the story is a bit weak, but I thought the gameplay was excellent! At first jumps feel awkward, but by about the 3rd mission you've pretty much nailed it and everything becomes second nature. Which leads to some of the coolest things I've seen in gaming.

  • @SavageArms357 Because he's Yahtzee. I love Mirror's Edge but to take anything he says seriously is missing the point. If he genuinely disliked every game as much as he says he does, he wouldn't keep playing them.

  • whos that face he keeps using in his videos?

  • bought it for 20 dollars last year, much easier to enjoy.

  • I love Mirrors Edge, it's one of those games that's completely independent from every other. I've played through it roughly 12 times, and I still enjoy replaying it every now and again.

  • You can try to stop lens flares in games, but they'll still be in movies (i.e. Star Trek) Hey, no sun, no lens flare.

  • some one skipped every cut away clip of story. the evil gov is explained in the first clip. or even the second

  • I personally loved it, but I agree there were a lot of flaws. Here's hoping that Mirror's Edge 2 will be better.

  • @Rox159th They announced theres a sequel?

  • @TheDementedWendigo Hell yeah they did. They'd been changing their minds on making a second or not but a while ago they stated that "they believe the world is ready for a mirror's edge 2."

  • Wait, Yatzee never explained this.

Why did Mirror's Edge cost him $100?

  • @ThePrimith Australian pricing

  • @ThePrimith Because he lives in Australia, where they add more money on to the American price.

  • @ThePrimith a new game from any retailer will cost you at least 100 dollars?

  • @xkill8 Are you asking me or telling me?

  • @ThePrimith im telling you... here in Australia all new releases are at least 100 dollars from a retailer,

  • @xkill8 What about importing?

  • @Sharingandud about 60 importing

  • @xkill8 well, that's definitely cheaper, but you might have to wait longer, right?

  • @xkill8 I also forget they they use different currency from the US. Don't mind me.

  • @ThePrimith Yes but 1 Australian dollar is like 1.01 US dollars.

  • @WarlordGaming Oh, ok. I guess it's about as bad as i first figured, then.

  • @ThePrimith Yeah pretty much. What's best for Aussies is what me and my friend do is he pays me 50 bucks on paypal and I steam gift him the game for that price, works out well, plus he gets the US version of the game so for games like L4D2 where the gore is censored, it works out better for him.

  • I love this game but I also agree with him. Thumbs please.

  • if this was third person playing i bet this would have been much better

  • Mirror's Edge is fucking AWESOME

  • 8-hour fecal waterslide...

    this guy is a genius

  • Really? A hundred dollars?

  • I liked Mirrors Edge. One of my favorite games ever made. I guess I'm weird....

  • "if you'll forgive the degree of faggotry in that phrasing" fucking brilliant XD

  • i came here from your left for dead video. you really paid $100 for this game, you are a retard.

  • @systemofadumb1

    Freelance game critic, baby!

    Dig it!

  • @DShephard91 color me lost.

  • @systemofadumb1 Exchange rates, you ignorant bastard.

  • @TravelingKidJoshua ok that makes more sense???????????????

  • bitch please MIRROR'S EDGE rocks

  • Who is that bland red-headed guy that yahtzee uses in most of his videos?

  • you are a sad, strange brithish man.

  • 2:50 to 2:54 taken out of context is great!

  • Comment removed

  • Eh, story is a little weak and waay to short. BUT.. dodgy detection?.. and constant falling of buildings?.. eerh, sure I fell down a lot.. but I never experienced any dodgy detection.. only some wierd and extreemly awkward disarms..

  • Errant Signal > Zero Punctuation

Errant signal is actually an intelligent, in depth review of the good and bad parts of the game. Not this poop, fart, and dick jokes, and overall hate-mongering because it's supposed to be "funny"

  • @cobchob Well, most people (as you see in the likes) think its funny. Also, he likes the game, he dosent do this just to play terrible games and tell people about it. He says all the bad things, but he still likes the game

  • @cobchob We seem to like poop, fart and dick jokes, thank you very much. I, like everyone else here, have my sources for objective game reviews (the ones that don't advertise themselves through fanboys on YT videos), I only come here for fun.

  • An 8 hour fecal waterslide......

  • Good game, too short, weak story.

I had fun. For a few hours till i beat it...

  • The gameplay was good, story was half-assed and too short. Maybe if a company other than EA made it, it would have been perfect.

  • "From the land of dreams" lol

  • It's a shame, Mirror's Edge had soooo much potential. If the combat was better, more fluid, and not wierd, especially in that boss fight where you have to work out how to beat by trial and error, as well as letting you be more creative with pathfinding and making that job more intuitive by simply outlining you your possible path before you start going on it, it would be great. As it was, getting lost in the game, and waiting for ages for one friggin gate to open (or two) = some nuisance.

  • worth picking up from the used shelf IMO.

its like those stuntman games. frustrating and easy to do wrong, but nothing feels better than actually doing it right.

  • the reason his reviews are so harsh is because if it wasnt, and it was about the positive things in the game it wouldnt be funny. Plus he said once that every other game reviewer only talks about good things so even in a game he might like hes still gonna talk about flaws

  • @RunnerRunnerRun I bought MW3 (my first COD game) about 6 days after release, whereupon each multiplayer game I entered had about 6 level 50's or higher, usually around 60 or 70, and maybe 2 people below level 20. I felt like the biggest idiot in the world thinking I could buy a level based multiplayer game 6 days after the entire fucking world had beaten the game and played 60 hours of it. Is that the same with all shooters, because I am now turned off of the genre.

  • @TheCalmPsycho That's why I avoid COD multiplayer, or would only play in local multiplayer/LAN connection so that I play with people I know who aren't overpowered. They are skilled and probably better than me, but I wouldn't dare face off against random people online. It's not fun anymore to do that. Multiplayer is just better when you play with friends online, or people you met who are fair and just. Too bad that takes effort for several people.

  • If they wanted to make a Mirror's Edge 2 (Which EA won't because they suck), they need to deal with a few basic issues. 1. The miniature "boss fights" are a nuisance. 2. The levels are often linear, which for a Parkour game defeats the purpose. 3. When hanging off of a ledge, there needs to be a quick way to switch your view around, to either view the ledge behind, beside or below you. 4. Combat needs to be vastly improved so that you can effectively take gaurds down. 5. It needs a better story.

  • DREAMS!

  • ... does Yahtzee like any game besides Silent Hill 2?

  • @Klookko

He liked Modern Warfare, Fallout 3, Skyrim off the top of my head. He's just misunderstood because the gaming community can't tell the difference between pointing out minor flaws in an otherwise good game (Skyrim) and calling something a heap of shit (Too Human).

  • @Klookko Some games he likes are Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, Thief II, Killer 7, Shadow of the Colossus, Psychonauts, Painkiller, and Portal.

  • Personally, I loved the game, but what the fuck do I know- I play racing games and MW3 on consoles, so I must be retarded.

  • @RunnerRunnerRun Yep, sounds about right.

  • @RunnerRunnerRun Dont take Yathzees reviews seriously. His reviews are just for hilarity

  • I have to wonder if he's payed to complain, or he only puts game reviews up that are mostly negative things.

  • @Meepmaster1234 Is that you being sarcastic?

  • dead sea scrolls<wireless bj dispenser

  • essflawcondodgeckindesimudstorliketersockity! :D

    Wait, what does it mean?

  • why the hell are games soo expensive in down under? O_o

  • @APPLEPIE978 Crappy taxes like GST, higher wages, higher import costs, more expensive to rate the games, the whole shebang! We could reach normal pricing if some of those went down!

  • I agree with most of the things you said (playing it right now) although you could've done without the homophobic language.

  • @munkymp3 Because the vast majority of people find it funny. It might not be fair, but its true, or else he wouldn't be so popular and comics wouldn't still be doing it.

  • @ABeardedSage

"or else he wouldn't be so popular..."

Except that isn't the only element of what makes him popular. So yeah, he would be.

  • @Ygdrasel No, no, you misunderstood. I was stating that people find comments such as those funny, and that if they didn't he wouldn't be as popular. You see what I mean? If the vast majority of people found that kind of language overly offensive, he would have to stop or suffer a drop in popularity. I'm not stating he's popular BECAUSE of that element, but that people don't feel as affronted by it as they might if he were to use the word nigger or something similar.

  • @ABeardedSage

Ah. Fair enough. I myself rather enjoy using the word nigger but then, I'm actually educated enough to know what it meant before it became cool to call it a racial slur. Oi, people...If I just had charisma, I could be Yahtzee's mirror image in cynicism. Minus the confusing accent.

  • @munkymp3

    Question: Is Yahtzee homophobic?

You see, there is no such thing as homophobic language. Thoughts, intentions, these can be homophobic. Language cannot. Unless the intention is behind it, it's not "homophobic language". For example, I'm fond of the word "faggot". I find it rolls nicely off the tongue. I use it for any annoying, whiny twats I meet, completely unrelated to sexual orientation homo or otherwise. I can do this because the language is not inherently homophobic.

  • runrunrunrunrunrunrunrun jump,oh, I didn't press RB, Y, X and up? I'm dead. Oh look, shotgun wielding peo*BOOM*

  • I played it on PC so...fuck you.

  • then he ate his shoes :3

  • @TheTelenation Just about anything could be better if developed by valve. They're like ketchup.

  • @hendrix4ever193 unless you want something with a 3 in it.

  • But they're so clean!

  • Yahtzee, you hate everything I love.

    I LOVE YOU.

  • @MineCraftRussia Does that mean he hates himself?

  • @MineCraftRussia And he hates himself, so it works out.

  • It was briefly $2.50 on Steam

  • I feel sorry for mirrors edge.

For some reason I always felt it had a Great concept but would have been better in the hands of a company like Vavle.

Wasted potential I think is the best way to put it and that pisses me off more then anything else in any media.

  • @TheTelenation If Valve had it then instead of parcore they would have the same physics puzzle 70 times (sorry hl2 but the see-saw puzzle got boring after a bit)

  • I thought it was an awesome game for a few play throughs :) a less linear sequel would do no harm whatsoever I think

  • This is one of the problems with video games today. A unique game like this comes out and tries something innovative and people shit all over it. Who cares if the story was half assed in a game like this, it's the gameplay that counts in this. It was very fun jumping from building to building in first person, and the controls were solid. And if you beat it in a day, you obviously didn't play on the harder difficulty levels, or participate in the time trials, those can keep you occupied for days.

  • My friend got this game and me play it. I got bored as hell after like 3 hours,

Well, no, I got bored as hell almost immediately, it just took me 3 hours to quit.

  • this game was so shit, traded it in on the day it came out

  • You hurt your what?

  • Got the game for 5 bucks, I quite liked it, that is my opinion though.

  • ESSFLAWCONDOGECKINDESIMUDSTORLIKETERSOCKITY!

  • @IcedLance That's part of what he does. He always has a criticism of some sort.

  • Watching these has made me so much more critical about games...

  • @Goldenfur12698

Watching this made me so much more critical about critics.

He complains that one game has too much story, and another too much gameplay.

It's a game in which you just run from one point to another in a smoothest way.

Besides he's got the story wrong.

  • @IcedLance Yes but the gameplay in mirror's edge is completely shit.

  • I think the reason that game designers put in lens flares is because they've never been allowed outside, so they design it to look like movies.

  • yeesh the way they price games in australia are expensive, i think when that game came out it was only £35.00 quid

  • He's gonna have to go quite a bit farther back than game designers. Lens flares started back in early Hollywood; it was a sign of shitty cameras, and they knew this, so they spent a lot of effort towards NOT HAVING THEM. Of course, later on some idiot decided lens flares were NOSTALGIC, so now you can't see anything in a movie higher than the horizon for all the shiny glowing hula hoops.

  • I absolutely love the way he says "Dreams" at 2:03. ^-^

  • Have to admit, despite it's terrible problems, I had a lot of fun finishing it.

  • That was more a atmosphere game. And it work very well. I like to play it time to time

  • The government has money? Could've fooled me.

  • Did anyone really think that first person platform jumping-based games would work?

  • you paid 100 dollars? i bought it discount 4 bucks! yeeeeeah!

  • @ks610 Australien (sp) currency has a high exchange rate with U.S. dollars.

In a case that you do live in austraia ignore this.

  • @ks610 100 dollars Australian remember

  • @ks610 Problem, Yahtzee?

  • @ks610 i got it free

  • @ks610 australian dollars, which are a lot less valueable

  • @theawesome288 not really we just have a higher minimum wage but the actual value of the dollar is nearly on par with the US at present.

  • @ks610 Well, genius, he bought it new, and in Australia. You bought it when it had been out over a year, on Steam.

  • i loved this game, it was great

  • @lolkat5678 agreed, it helps break away from the monotony of Fighters, RPG's, FPS's, Cod's and Halo's for just Running and having fun.

  • @lolkat5678 I quite liked it to...Fucking short though

  • Pubic enemy number 1? Typo or joke i'm not getting?

  • haha i never had a problem with collision i dont think. i love this game.

    still a freakin awesome review!

  • i loved this game

  • so he did and then he ate his own shoes

  • For games alkl in first person, Breakdown was alot better.

  • Essflawcondodgeeckindesimudstorliketersockity!

  • Yeah Play the game for the gameplay, the plot is barely worth mentioning.

  • I actually enjoyed this game quite a bit.

  • I fuckin love this game. It's best to ignore the story and characters, because it's the gameplay that's so incredibly fun to me.

  • ya. too much bloom.

  • I got it for $2...

  • Fecal waterslide. Ew.. disgusting. :P

  • Yeah. Fucking EA. They keep bringing games on the market and I have not even finished one game. Like xbox360. I barely have 10 minutes per day of free time to give to a game and then I cannot play anymore. Meanwhile, after I finished level 1, another army of FPSes has spawned. :/

  • FAGGOTRY :P

  • Shoooes.

  • I LOVE fecal waterslides

  • I don't care what he says. IMO, Mirror's Edge is absolutely incredible.

  • @ETW97

The game play is too linear, and the in-building moments later in the game are more bleh then they should be. It's not terrible, just not great.

  • @KyrieMikomi True. I can admit the game has some faults, but it's still one of my faves. Hope they don't mess it up in the sequel.

  • @ETW97

Been wondering about that, as to why they're taking so long to make this. Are they that worried about messing it up? Or is it just not a top priority? *shrug*. I do hope the rumor of multiplayer is true when it comes out though.

  • @KyrieMikomi LOL I can imagine like 6 people Freerunning at once. Insane. :3

  • Ahahahahaha Connor you made my day with that amazing joke

  • Just to add i gave up on ign when they said black ops and call of duty was "starting" to get old and other franchises were getting old after 2 games how does it go " you cant spell ignorant without ign"

  • Ign? Credible? Bahahaha not for years

  • Pretty crappy review I think. I respect your opinions, but reviews should be as objective as possible, and you pretty much skip every objective element and skip right to the highly opinionated parts. Also, you never seem to agree with credible review sources like IGN. That isn't a problem, except that I get the feeling that it's intentional.

  • I enjoyed the game greatly for the whole ability to smoothly move around once youve mastered the courses, but it would have been nicer if the maps were a little more freeing and less linear. Like, say, the game was a free roamer. And it gave you multiple paths. The story was ehh, and so was the length, but all in all I enjoyed it.

  • I honestly thought Mirrors Edge was fun. It was intense, had a few gunfights here and there, and of course, you could slide, and kick everyone in the groin (And remember, every enemy in this game besides ONE of them is a guy). But if someone thinks it sucks, well, it's their opinion, and I respect that.

  • Mirrors Edge has decently fun game play. Story? No. Plot? No. Setting? Hell no.

Literally everything except the game play wreaks of amateurish garbage. Even then, the game slaps you in the face with...TIME TRIALS. Yes, the biggest part of the game is also the most boring, tedious, and rage inducing shit I have ever played.

    Fuck Mirrors Edge.

  • @SilvanNosty mirrors edge fucks you

  • @giga0524

With a rough 12-inch dildo, mind you.

Seriously, fuck that game. It's a pile of garbage.

  • @SilvanNosty Uh the game has a story... it was simple and drove everything you did, you must have been pretty stupid to miss it. Perhaps you should go to wikipedia and look at "plot" Setting? Mirrors Edge has excellent atmosphere, it's arguably its biggest strength. The rich colors and nice soundtrack really add to it. Time trials? Uh never in the campaign. I don't think you played mirrors edge, it got an 8.5 from IGN, a much more objective, reputable source than "Zero Punctuation"

  • @ATLMember

"It was simple" quite an understatement. "Sister kidnapped, must get back." WOOOOO! It was horrible. The setting was garbage. The amount of bloom they used in that game could fucking blind you. Not to mention, everything was mainly White or Red. Great color scheme! And the atmosphere was garbage. Not to mention the small field of vision and horribly shaky camera.

Also, IGN doesn't mean shit. They haven't been reputable in years. They're the American equivalent of Famitsu. Both suck

  • @SilvanNosty That's all your opinion, IGN has very objective reviewers, they are far more "credible" than Zero Punctuation

  • @ATLMember

Yeah, I was a bit skeptical myself, but after reading IGN review on the paradigm shifting Kane & Lynch 2 and giving it only a meager 7/10, I knew that IGN was indeed an objective publication that has a hard line standards.

  • @Finlandcitizen Kane and Lynch 2 lasted 4 fucking hours and cost 120 bucks in my country. If I read a review saying it was 7/10 I would have hunted down and killed the son of a bitch who was paid to rate it that high. Good thing I rented it. Took it back the same day and they were wondering if I broke it but I told them nah, I just finished this peice of shit and I'm here to hire another game. That's my opinion anyway.

  • @TheArkTek 120 DOLLARS!! Where do you live? How much would that be in US money?

  • @XSeshedaX in new zealand. The thing is that the US dollar is about the same as the NZ at the moment so that's why I'm pissed about the rediculous prices. I mean I could live with $60 bucks for new releases, but double?!!!

  • @Finlandcitizen 7/10? That's meager for ign? That's not credible! That's called 'I hope I don't offend anyone if you are one of the idiots who like this game please don't bully us'

Why the fuck do they ahve the first 7 numbers? Just either say good or not as good. Their only rating system

  • I don't care what
