@deanc2000 Hey man. Just so you know, the tracks do not need to be record armed in order for it to record clip launching information. I didn't do any effects on the first recording, so after i hit the master record button, ableton recorded my clip launching performance. (Because it was in a group, it cut it up nicely for me). Hope this helps!
How did you copy sections and paste them? I cant figure it out is there keyboard shortcuts I been searching for awhile now in the help files and online and it seems noone can figure it out my self included I cant even make a selection by highlighting it goes from one point and leaves when I try to shift highlight
@divakaneva What do you mean by sections? If you mean tracks, you can highlight the track by clicking the title at the top, and hit command D for duplicate, or command c and v for copy and paste. To duplicate individual CLIPS you can click or highlight them by holding shift and clicking a range, then command c for copy and select a new empty track.. command v to paste. Hope this helps. A lot of these can all be found in your trusty ableton manual. :)
@digitallush OK Thanks yeah I'm a bit noob and its frustrating when I know what I want to do but because of not knowing the interface it slows me down there are so many small actions we can do in this program its easy to hit the wrong thing and screw it all up lmao
@divakaneva Hello you can highlight the section hit ctrl c to copy and ctrl v to paste. if you only want a small section hit ctrl E first. I hope this helps on the mac I think it would be command.
@divakaneva Hey man I'm glad you figured it out! One thing that may be helpful to note is that in Live you can midi map to ANY key on your keyboard! Including CAPITAL keys. Up in the right hand corner there is a button labelled "KEY" (next to MIDI) - if you select KEY, you get the same overlay but can assign any key the same as assigning a midi controller. One thing to note is that Live supports mapping CAPITAL letters... so you actually have a lot more midi options just on your keyboard!
What about if you don't have an external midi keyboard can we still do it that way ?
I got as far as going into midi mode but wasnt able to continue as I couldn,t assign the tracks and I got no sound anyway with my computer keyboard nice tut btw
Is the song entitled "raucous cacophony"?
