In my opinion, most of it isn't about race. I say 25 to 50% has to do with race. That other 75% has to do with color. Dark symbolizes bad while light resembles good. Check out your cartoons also nature itself. When they grow up, these kids come to their senses to learn good and evil doesn't have anything to do with race or color but content. This is a very sad finding and I do think black children struggle coming to terms with their colour to this day. I see it in my own culture that sometimes lgihter skin is more desirable than dark skin. I'm mixed race and I have white and black family. I'm not black but this is so sad, black kids need to be tried but psycologist since early childhood to delete that wrong concept about thier color. i work in a preschool where I've noticed this problem even in black kids who don't like to play with black doll, they even say "teacher I dont want the black doll cuz im not black even when they are. I'm latino and this encourages me to adopt a black child.

Honestly speaking the sample "2 dozen kids" is not enough. If you probably take a bigger sample from different places and then perform a study the results can potentially reveal a stark difference compared to current one. No human can instinctively feel low about his or her skin color, figure, features etc. all such complex feelings crop up when kids grow up in an environment where by and large everything is shown in one way.

Unfortunately, if you refuse to acknowledge that there are CLEARLY implications of race, rather than pretending that there are none, we do ourselves and our children a great disservice. The color blind myth is why many people are still suffering from identity issues. These are things that are so far reaching that unless one experiences them, they are not apt to understand. It is by no means a reason to blame others, or not work hard to live, but it is real.

In my opinion, most of it isn't about race. I say 25 to 50% has to do with race. That other 75% has to do with color. Dark symbolizes bad while light resembles good. Check out your cartoons also nature itself. When they grow up, these kids come to their senses to learn good and evil doesn't have anything to do with race or color but content. But the Caribbean were still under total European jurisdiction. My island is still European: any person born there is European. Honestly speaking the sample "2 dozen kids" is not enough. If you probably take a bigger sample from different places and then perform a study the results can potentially reveal a stark difference compared to current one. No human can instinctively feel low about his or her skin color, figure, features etc. all such complex feelings crop up when kids grow up in an environment where by and large everything is shown in one way.

However, in a very obvios way da video insinuates the viewrs that even innocent kids with no mature understanding of racial aspects in human society still prefer white over black. dis sounds stupid to me! In a white society a black kid feels odd, this is a natural reaction. If a white kid grows in Nigeria u ll se da same phenomenon for sure! It's not abut color, its about conformity!

Unfortunately, if you refuse to acknowledge that there are CLEARLY implications of race, rather than pretending that there are none, we do ourselves and our children a great disservice. The color blind myth is why many people are still suffering from identity issues. These are things that are so far reaching that unless one experiences them, they are not apt to understand. It is by no means a reason to blame others, or not work hard to live, but it is real.

Ignorance to other cultures leads to unintentional racism --which hurts just the same. A great percentage of how children perceive themselves has to do with the influence from their social circles. If they are being treated differently outside the home, it is very difficult for the parent to turn that around with a few affirming words. No blame, just responsibility.
