  • Two things (among many others) I love about Lehmann's singing: she really sinks into the low notes, and no one else sings the vowel ü with such a beautiful color!

  • Beautiful, and so effortless.

  • Is this a different take??

  • No, I just forgot.

  • You meant to post the Styrienne! ;P

  • Quelle voix! quelle tenue de timbre parfait! Qui chante aussi bien maintenant?

  • étonnant

    thkss

  • It's cool how the German fits as perfectly as the French. I wonder what Je suis Titana would sound like in German...

  • @SopranoKayla1992 You should search for Frieda Hempel. As I remember her German rendition of "Je suis Titania" can be found here on youtube.

  • Thank you very much for this beautiful German rendition of aria I treasure immensely. Last week end I went to NYC to attend a meeting and found a time to visit Morgan Library & Museum. Boy! was I intimidated by his rare and first book collections! I found the original first edition of Goethe's "Wilhelm Meisters Lehrjahre" and that brought me the memories of Opera Mignon and aria "Connais-tu le pays" and the Original German poem.

    Thank you, thank you!

  • Its comments like this that encourage me to continue posting!

  • Did they have Faust there too?

  • Thomas is a sadly neglected composer; this wonderful version does it justice.

  • A great performance from one of the greatest.
