  • That confirms it.

  • Well explained. Very hard to get right as an amateur ! :-) I am still trying to change from more A and B to more C

  • Position B is the correct position, however this is not a hard and fast rule. The lie generally dictates the position. Variations in desired shot trajectory also has influence. Clubs weren't designed for position A or C. Positions A and C are deviations in swing technique for low or high shots generally.

  • You helped visualize the details of impact, compression and flight. Now with repetition in practice and visualization I will compose together my swing with this lesson. It should help my game as often don't visualize why my divvit moves back and forth and it's depth. Sometimes i focus on center or forward of the ball for striking. Im only a six month player so im still experimenting and this video should help my game. Thank you very much!

  • Damn, I already knew this! :( Thought I might learn something new... Good video though! :D

  • Love this video thank you

  • The person, who dislikes this do not know anything about golf!

  • Thanks Lee. I have had 3 lessons with 3 different pro's and none of them explained this. Even my mate who's 2 handicap never explained it, and it has been bugging me for months!! I would have voted position B by the way. Thanks again..

  • one of the best video! most of them tell us to hit the ball first and that's it. it's the first time I learn about position of the club. thank you, i will try it at the range tomorrow.

  • Great vid that shows is most fundamentals of ball striking.

  • wonderful, precise video, thanks.

  • One of the best videos on YouTube to explain this concept. So much about this great game is counter intuitive.

  • Thanks for posting, always wondered that.

  • Exactly what I needed to know - can't wait to get out there and give it a go..

  • Brilliant

  • thanks alot this is the thing I was looking for I thought it was position b and would never have a consistent shot always going to the right or not having any air thanks you helped me so much

  • Lee....I like position B. I tend to dig with position C and lose elevation. I have an interesting swing thought. I try to smack the sole against the ground directly under the ball. Gives me an upwards exploding divot and that nice pure hit sound. Works for me.

  • This is caused by what he describes as hitting the south pole. When you have this impact position you brake your wrist and basically add loft to your irons. The amount of loft will vary so you are randomly changing the loft of all your irons making a 6 into a 9 an 8 iron into a wedge a 7 iron intoa wedge.Plus you lose all your shaft lean which creates lag and power.Start with chips and pitches and make sure you hit the ball with the handle ahead of the clubhead by 5-7 inches.See Lynn Blake videos

  • This could be due to several variables in your swing technique. Why don't you upload a video of your swing onto YouTube, then I can give you an analysis. Take some video from two angles, front on and from behind in relation to the direction you are hitting the ball.

    Good Luck

    Lee

  • Hello Lee. I am a returning golfer and have a problem with the distance of my irons from 6-pitching wedge where I hit the ball the same distance(approx. 100 yards) what do you think the problem is?
