In the 90's, one actually had to listen to the lyrics, and try and figure out what they meant to them personally. Not to mention the organic musical tones that producers would intentionally leave in the songs to keep it from sounding so sterile and lifeless like rock music sounds today.

Back when the corporate record companies and commercial radio ruled the business (before the Internet) "Mindless music for the masses" was all we got -- and if you wanted something better, you had to work really hard to find it and then pay a lot of money for it. That includes going to live music venues all across the country, YouTube, and a lot of other sites that promote independent artists/bands. All I find is more of the same shit you hear on the radio. Rock music is dead, which is why we haven't seen a revolution in rock since 1991.
