  • thekidrocks72 is correct: this is a 1970/1971 model.

  • mine was fully working after i bought mine for only 5 bucks

  • To remove the chassis, there are inverted nuts under the timber, speaker select, balance and bass control. Once removed - the bezel will come off. Beware that there is rubber on the front and back edge to prevent vibration, so it will feel like a tight fit during R/R. Then you can remove the chassis via 4 screws holding the chassis in from the side.

The date code is on the bottom of the unit (month/year). This is a 1970/71 500 Series.

  • That cabinet is very similar to the 1967 Webcor Console Stereo I have. The reciever in it didn't work when I got it, and I had no clue how to troubleshoot it, so I gutted it and replaced it with a Sony Stereo System. I don't like it all that well, so I'm currently looking to find something else to replace it with.

  • it sounds quite nice!
