  • Accidents happen at all windturbine manufactures, Vestas is probable one of the safest companies to work with, the death rate at other manufactures are way higher....

  • @thedutchful At first, thanks for commenting! Many people hated this video, that's why I deactivaded the rates. We are not speaking about death rates, we are speaking about wind turbine accidents. Vestas or Gamesa had much more accidents than other manufacturers, that's why I trust in Enercon wind turbines. Vestas and other ones which use a gearbox are much louder than direct driven wind turbines (Enercon; WES wind turbines). Tell me what you think about Enercon.

  • @VestasBurnsWell I like the direct drive system from Enercon but I don't like the way how the turbine looks. I like the Vestas or NEG Micon nacelles more.

  • @VestasBurnsWell I must say that accidents are rare in wind turbines. In the region where I live (province of Burgos, in Spain) there are over 700 Gamesa and Vestas and only two of them have burned since 2000, serious accident occurred only one, in my town (Dobro), a generator of Gamesa IG47 fell to the ground from 40 metres. On the contrary blade breaks have occurred much more in the Enercon E-40 (about 5 times since 2000). I can upload a video about these accidents that occurred in my region.

  • @germanborrillo Accidents happen not so often. But, wind turbines have to be proven ones, it mustn't happen that a wind turbine falls to the ground like that Gamesa, imagine

that turbine falls to a group of people. Me and Nuklearfreak drove to the Enercon wind turbines almost every Saturday in the last summer, we were testing our Lego wind turbines there. I can imagine that the E-40 had many blade breaks, I think it's supposed to operate in not so windy regions like mine.

  • @VestasBurnsWell Blades are constructed to resist the highest windspeeds ofcourse there is a limit but most turbines stop operating above 25 m/s.

I don't think they are developing blades for not windy conditions....

  • @thedutchful Yes, you are right.

  • @VestasBurnsWell My conclusion: 90% of accidents on wind turbines, are caused by bad maintenance, for example the case of the generator that fell to the ground in my village. a generator does not fall so easily, I am convinced that it could happen to any other model and probably was caused by poor maintenance and according to the study conducted, because of a resonant frequency of vibration. In one of these frequencies even more resistant parts are broken in pieces, and can not be avoided.

  • @germanborrillo Yes, your right, but I have to say: The frequency of vibrations come from bad bearings built in a wind turbine. I think also that high-speed shafts like built in gearbox-driven wind turbines can make a resonant frequency of vibrations if the bearings are from very low quality. Direct driven wind turbines do not have this problems

so easily. I'm just 13 years old, but I am interested in this wind energy stuff. :D

  • @VestasBurnsWell I totally agree, I see you understand much about these things. ENERCON THE BEST!!!

  • @germanborrillo It's a fact that Enercon has problems with their blades, here in Holland blades are changed at different sites.

  • @germanborrillo Please do....

  • por lo menos podiais averos currao un poco mas la maqueta.

  • @aitoter3 Please speak English because I don't understand you.

    Thanks.

  • puta mierda tio

  • ENERCON!!!!!!!!!!!

  • ENERCON! ENERCON! ENERCON!

  • Yes your are right.GO ENERCON!!!!!!!!

  • @germanborrillo We have the same opinion. Thx for commenting!!!

  • ENERCON wind turbines are the best in the world. Vestas is a waste.
