  • SOMEONE HELP: I need a new mother board on account of the fact that i just bought a brand new gtx 460 and its being held back by my pentium d processor, unfortunately my xps 400's motherboard doesnt support anything above a pentium D (im assuming because it doesnt support a core 2 duo) i have my heart set on an i5 quad and i want to know if this motherboard supports it or if there is a cheaper one out there that supports it

  • Hey Albert, should have studied the board a little more!Though EVGA statesyou could run a 45nm cpu,in actuality you can't,some have gotten the board to accept the 45nm processor(a very RARE few)!!I called EVGA up,the tech told me: "It's not guaranteed, because the board went out at the time the 45nm came to market."...hhumm..Does that make sense? This board operates on 65nm cpu's!EVGA engineers know how to make money by screwing people over!Ohh well,I picked out the best 65nm cpu: QX6850/1333mhz

  • Do you need an Nvidia graphics card for an SLI motherboard even if you dont use SLI?

  • @xXMyXKipXIsXFreshXx you dont have to

  • i bought the a while back and i brought it into best buy to get it assembled because it was my first build THEY BROKE IT

i learned my lesson the hard way ALWAYS BUILD IT ON YOUR OWN

  • @2040Tech did they repay u back?

  • @tommy714pham Nope and im still pissed

  • old to older

  • is ati 5970 compatible with this motherboard?

  • @JosephDgamer yes sir it is

  • that a joke

  • @thereddog223 no i have to computer 1 is a ancient pavilion which i have not upgraded at and still have old mouse with it and i have gaming which is fully upgrades

  • My first computer was a 486 but yeah that is pretty old.

  • @ieatcement lol

  • im getting the asus version of this mobo, different cooling but basically the same

  • Now, this might be a stupid question but would this support HD4980 (which i have right now) and would support Xfire? This motherboard cost like 89$ on Tiger im planning to buy this mobo!

  • Albert doesn't sound so enthusiast compare to the 780i FTW video. It's like this board is "whatever"

  • i think says amd sucks coz amd is less quality made then Intel , i think...

  • yeah i KIND of think that too haha

  • would an old pentium 4 work on this?

  • all 775 sockets will work on this i think exept for some qx9xxx series

  • my 680i tri sli by abit is better

  • no actually, it isn't

  • ahhh i figured that out so then mine looks better

  • I believe you, I just installed my 790i Ultra, It's beautiful

  • hey thankx buddy...

  • I'm going to their store and getting this mobo within the next month ^^

Can anyone tell me what type of intel 2 quad core works on this mobo? =\

  • all the 775 socket ones including the quad cores

  • whats the price of this mobo now?????????????

  • This mobo is $119.99

    $99 after less rebate

  • @panchokilayko I got one of a tiger for $65 with $20 rebate

  • what does he mean by changing it to hayllum?

  • does this work on the q8200?

  • Yes, Q8200 work in nForce 750i SLI. Visit the website of nForce in nvidia . com / products / nForce / 750i SLI / Specifications.

  • Doesn't support the Q8200. Experienced it. It's a great board though.

  • since the socket is 775,can i put a pentium4 processor in it? im thinking to buy this board and then upgrade to a core2duo though..

  • Can anyone tell me if this board can SLI 2 GTX 260s. I can never get a straight answer from anyone when I ask this question. I really wanna go SLI but I want to go the cheapest route possible.

  • It can without any problem handle 2x 260 gtx in SLI :P

  • Yes u can ! :)

  • there are 2 pci-e 2.0 on this bord.. so yes

  • it sure can just make sure that your case can fit both of the cards and that your power supply can power them both you should get around 750 watts. May i recommend the Corsair TX750W?

  • so what is the thing with the fan in the middle of the board? is it an integrated graphics?

  • no it doesnt have intergrated graphics xD

  • lol thanks, so then what is the small little fan in the middle cooling?

  • a southbridge, cooler

  • wow, the southbridge needs a cooler? haha

  • i got this board from TD but its defective so im waiting for a new one T.T

so is this a pretty good board?

  • can someone tell me which is better:

    Pentium D 820 2.8 GHz or an Athlon X2 7750

    thanks

  • 7750

  • Pentium D? dude get a Commodor 64

  • those boards are so much bigger than AMD or Intel but its for a reason.

  • uhhh, will a Q9650 run on this mobo?

  • yes

  • can someone please tell me what case to buy for this mother bord???

  • buy a e8400 core 2 duo.and a gtx 260 core 216

  • think he meant an actual case.

Hmm well there are alot of options.

What do you plan to put in your pc romeodogshot

  • hey guyz i have a question i planing on buying a mobo but not sure if i should get a xfx 750i or evga 750i i know evga has great customer service but im looking for performance here. i want to know which 1 is better to me they both semeed basically the same. thankx.

  • yeah they will perform basically the same, the evga will pull out a little on memory benchies and stuff

id always go with evga cause of the warranty, plus all the online reviews ive read have loved it

  • thankx XD yah i like evga myself bought a 8800Gt from them a while back now i decided to buy Intel Core i7 920 Processor with EVGA nForce 750i SLI Motherboard and gona add 4 gb 800mhz ..... <<--buying all that and combining it with what i already have , two 500 gb hard drives , tv tuner , light scribe dvd supermulti drive/ cdwriter , dvd rom , 8800GT , and im a lil concered about the PSU i have it's 550 watt im not sure if that would be enough for this lol .. thankx for your feed back tho XD

  • sry not buying core i7 since that mobo doesnt support it lol Intel Core 2 Quad Q6700 2.66GHz was the 1 i wrote the wrong 1 ... -Socket: 775

    - Front Side Bus: 1066MHz

    - Cache: 8MB

  • lol i was a little worried there :p

good luck with the build, wish i had money for a new rig but im so broke atm :(

  • lmfao thankx im on a low budget 2 all of this is for almost 700$ lol

  • i have

    750i ftw

    4gb patriot something something

    9500gt @ 741mhz

    &

    E4600 @ 2.7ghz

i play my games with this, and when im playing, u get over 30fps but even in halo 1 i get "lag". like its loading a frame or something, help with this please?

  • what resolution are you playing at?

run memtest, and if you have a problem is probs your ram

ohh how stable is the oc?

  • what progam would u recommend for a memtest?

and the oc is very stable

except for the fact that the stock heat sink sucks and i get 65c when playing crysis,

it usually stays 50c idle and 60c loaded

  • I've had the same issues with noise. The SB fan is stupid loud, and it's placement b/w the PCI-E slots makes it difficult to find a replacement, especially with a GTS card. I have also not been able to find a bios setting for changing the speed, only for the NB fan. It's terribly irritating, if anything.

  • i dunno what the hell the guy at the bottom is talking about, i got this motherboard and it rocks, no problems with it at all

    running:

    Dual Core E8400 3.0ghz

    4GB OCZ Reaper 800mhz

    EVGA GTX 260 core 216

    SoundBlaster X-Fi XtremeGamer

runs great........and its EVGA, so their warranty is great, and they also have a step up program....which is also nice. this is a good board, and its definitely at a good price as well.

  • dont but this board it is a piece of shit and doesnt work well at all I replaced it with an Asus and no problems at all

    Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Quad CPU Q8200 @ 2.33GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.3GHz

    4094MB RAM Ocz 1066 fatality

    NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT Oc

    Asus P5Q

  • what is cmos?

  • I love this board, cheap and runs great!

  • Could someone please tell me if this motherboard would work with a evga 260 gtx

    thanks

  • Yes. It can support any new graphics card.

  • will it run the 4870?

  • Please help me the southbridge fan on this thing is very loud, and the northbridge fan isnt helping either, my computer used to be able to be on when i sleep now i cant because the damn thing sounds like a server box please help and message me.

  • clean it out.. it probly has dust all threw it mate x]

  • thats teh motherboard that im getting with a q6600 and a antec 900 2

  • I'm getting this motherboard on Tuesday night (two days)

    E8400

    Antec 900

    9800GT 512 MB

    Tuniq tower 120

    3 gigs RAM

  • does it come with a sli bridge?

  • Yes, it does.

  • Thank you godbane.

  • Could you tell me if this motherboard has a good sound card or is it worth it investing in a separate soundcard like soundblaster audigy for examle?

  • The sound quality is pretty good. I don't see the need to buy a sound card.

  • im planing on building my first gaming pc later this year, a budget pc.

ive been looking for a good motherboard for a while. im wondering if this will be good?

ill be upgrading the computer in the future, like giving it beter processor, SLI, all that good stuff.

  • Perfect motherboard. You can upgrade to the best gaming cpu, the Core 2 Quad (well really second best, but the i7 is expensive and only 3 models exist).

You can also incorporate 2 GeForce Cards-hence the board being SLI- for AMAZING gaming performance.

This mobo is truly amazing, especially when you manage to buy it Open Box for half of the already low price :D.

  • wow, thanks man. ill definantly get this one

  • And make sure you don't do like me, where you are going to buy the parts later, and then you decide on a different one- this one's perfect for your needs :D.

  • lol ok

  • get i7 its not expensive

  • the i7 board isn't, but the i7 is. The lowest end model is $300; sure, thats not a lot, but I can get a better processor for $200.

  • dude cheapest i7 is $270 over clocked than its asome

  • e8400 has 2 less cores, but it can overclock just as good and only costs $170.

I guess if your using applications with four core support the i7 would be much better, but saving $100 can get you say another graphics card.

although technically with the hyper threading this thing can support 8 core apps... lol.

  • dude not the same if u over clock e84004 ghz and i7 to 4ghz not same so

  • Q6600 FTW

  • howduknow

    itisawesome amirite?!?

  • Get an i7 board if you're upgrading because that's what it's going to be from now on.

  • i would, but an i7 board only works witth the i7 pricessor from what i read.

i will get in i7 when the price is lower also

  • how well does this mobo overclock?

  • bad looking heatpipes......and this sound like a boing :)

  • A stripped down 780 but worth it at the price range of <$200. The southbridge has a fan unlike the 780i. Cool board. I was gonna get one since my 680i was failing but I RMA'd my 680 and got a 780 in return. Anyway, nice review, great mainstream board, and worthy to have in a gaming PC.

  • only 1 ps2 port?

  • Yeah for the keyboard. There isnt a ps2 mouse port since they all now come in usb form. Wouldve been good had the ps2 port been there for the keyboard because sometimes people have too many usb devices installed and would stink if you ran out.

  • whats he talking about "in the future you can switch to halem". whats halem?

  • core i7... he meant nehalem

  • o yes am going to overclocking but will it run games in hi seting

  • I'm getting this in some days :)

  • am going to get a GAMEING pc like in 3 days here is my info

    MOTHERBOARD: EVGA 750 SLI NVIDIA

    CPU: (Quad-Core)Intel® Core™ 2 Quad Q6600

    MEMORY: 4GB (2GBx2) PC6400 DDR2/800 Dual Channel Memory

    POWERSUPPLY: 500 Watts Power Supplies

and 2 NVIDIA GeForce 9500 GT 512MB 16X PCI Express

o and FAN: Asetek Liquid CPU Cooling System

so will that be a good gameing PC to run the new and cool PC GAMES

  • It will be if you get a single 9800GT/GTX instead of 2 9500GT's.

    And will you overclock

if you wouldn't overclock, try spending more money on the vga instead (DON'T buy liquid cooling if you are not overclocking)

  • Comment removed

  • how wold crysis rwithhi mobo

    2 900gtx +

    q660 at 3ghz 650 wat pwer suppy

    4 gig ram?

  • it would run really nice

  • 1. kill yourself

    2. Learn to spell

    3. Know what you're talking about

    4. Two 9800gtx's are the worst option ever. Goddamn.

  • ebaums9000 = fail.

  • trolled...

  • Dual channel ram?

  • yep

  • What processor and video card will go great wit the EVGA nForce 750i SLI Motherboard to make a mid harcore gaming rig for the lowest price??

  • all depend how much u want to spend

  • i am planning to sli 2 9800 GTs together, but i need to know how much power do i need?

  • i'd say about 600W, wouldn't hurt yo go for more

  • but i am using quad core, does that change anything?

  • umm, shouldn't really, unless its an intel quad core extreme extreme.

  • ok i see,ok what about the case what case would fit this motherboard.

  • its an ATX motherboard, so as long as you have a case that fits ATX form factor, your good to go.

  • i am going to add as a firend becuse i got so many ?s becuz i am bluiding 1.

  • yeah bro thats cool

  • future?? lol epic fail

Should've got for X58 mate... 775 is pretty much history .. after it gets more popular

  • i dont think youd need that, a 750i FTW would be good, or the 780i, thats if you wanna save money. Plus 790i uses ddr3 ram which cost a fortune!

  • not that far off, its just if your just using one v-card its good, but 2 cards wont be that good since when using bot on turns to 8x speed

  • Yea i know that.. But i didn't see a Bridge with it.

  • No sli bridge??

  • 750i boards rock! I have the asus version been rock solid since I got my rig in april :)

  • this board is phail compared to the FTW edition and 780i...

  • what processor is the best for a gaming?

  • price performance, e8400 by a long shot.

best price performance mobo to go with it ga ep45 ds3l

  • Question-Running Pentium "Extreme" Dual core 3.73 ghz OC'ed to 4.1 ghz (last of the Pentium "Netburst" core architecture Extremes) on 750i SLI MB with 4 Gb Corsair memory, Huge Coolermaster fin tower CPU cooler. "Cosmos 1000" multi fan huge case.

    Bios is dated 4/2008.

My problem is that I am running two "8800gtx" video cards in SLI with latest drivers and my "3Dmark6" graphics score is only 2970! HELP please on what the problem is with graphics being so low a score.

  • Does anyone know if my Q6600 65nm 2.4Ghz socket LGA775 CPU will work with this mobo?

  • yeah it'll work just fine, Ive got my Q6600 OC'd to 3.6 right now on my EVGA 750i FTW. But as you see from lil0egy0kid that board has been discon, get the 750i FTW or step right up to a 780i.

  • Thank you.....Since it is dicon will it still be ok to use?...

I just got it today so should i use it?

I dont have the money 4 the 780i

I already spent the rest of my money on 2 XfX 9800GTX+.

    thanks again!

  • it will

  • lol this board got discontinued after a month

  • why is it shitty or why

  • it had alot of problems so evga stoped making it i would sugesst the 750i ftw or the 780i ftw and up

  • i have no need for the 780i nor can i afford it. so the 750i looks the best to me

  • get the evga 750i ftw its $170 awsome board

  • I just got this 2 weeks ago, and EVGA already stopped producing it, they even took it out of their website !!

So no more bios upgrade, no support, and no step-up....

well...another SLI mobo sitting on my desk again...

  • will the evga gtx 260 work with this mother board

  • yes it will

  • yes it will, any motherboard with a pci express port can run it.

  • i like more the 780i FTW board..

  • sadly it's sold out

  • not on newegg :D

  • Yeah, this is the board I'm planning on getting. At first I wanted the 780i but, the more I learn about this board, the more I realize it's the best choice.

  • widescreen FTW!!

  • What are the Pros & Cons of buying this board over the 780i FTW apart from price?

  • get the 750i FTW beacsue this board runs one pci-e at x8 so when your running sli your not on max

  • No your graphics card/s sit above that cooler.

Go to Tigerdirect, and look at graphics cards, this will show you. A graphics card case starts at about 3/4 inch above the top of the contact pins on the bottom. So by the time the contact pins are down in the slot, the card is still 3/4 inch above it.

  • that heatsink below the PCI-E slot..wouldnt that stop a Graphics card from fitting into the board?

  • if it is a dual slot graphics card, yes
