  • @BereanBeacon1 my present spiritual condition is one of an adopted son of God. My spiritual condition is that of grace and I loose no sleep worrying about it. Now to the matter of my two comments regarding this lecture. It is easy to caricature and sometimes that comes awfully close to bearing false witness ... clearly a matter of grave spiritual importance.

  • "Tobit was kept alive for four years by eating sparrow droppings!?" Did I hear that correctly?? Would you like to provide a citation from Tobit to back that up? Tobit becomes blind because of droppings (Tobit 2.10 KJV) he did not eat their droppings. This scenario sets the scene for him to be healed and other sundry adventures through his son Tobias.

  • I have intention to mock or the like. Christians should be able to talk in love. In your enumeration of the Apocrypha as "Seven Books" your list is anything but complete even for the 1611 KJV. What about 1 & 2 Esdras? What about the Epistle of Jeremiah? What about the Prayer of Manasseh? All of these plus Tobit, Judith, Sirach, Additions to Esther & Daniel are in the King James Version and were so for a very long time.

  • @Galileo1615 In your present spiritual condition, the Apocrypha is irrelevant. You are on the broad way to destruction and need the free gift of God by faith in Jesus Christ alone. For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. Hebrews 4:12

  • What an idiot. A Jew from Naphtali? Go back and study your bible.

  • @thesmitty2012 You cannot understand because you are spiritually dead and love darkness.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. 1Corinthians 2:14

And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil. John 3:19

  • Can a man get saved from reading and believing the niv?

  • @mrmark262 If Hitler quoted John 3:16, it still would be true, but you wouldn't want to follow him. The NIV is missing 64,000 words and the Greek text used was invented by Westcott and Hort. We have many videos on modern translations if interested.

  • @mrmark262 A man can get saved even if a man like Hitler told him him how, but you would not want to follow him.

  • ...It appears they were ultimately accepted at Trent, because without doing so, the Catholic Church had no scripture upon which to base the doctrine of purgatory, invocation and intercession of the saints, the worship of angels, the redemption of souls after death, etc. In fact, if you'll look at the Catholic Encyclopedia, you'll find discussion of "problems" or "errors" with most of the apocryphal books.

  • According to the Catholic Encyclopedia, St. Jerome was hesitant to include most of the apocryphal books in the canon, due to numerous errors. Even after he did concede to include them (in the fourth century), they were not decreed to be inspired scripture until April 8, 1546 at the Council of Trent. So for 1100 years, they were part of the canon, but not officially scripture. The reason for this is again, because of the numerous errors....

  • Judith falsely states that Nebuchadnezzar reigns over the Assyrians, whereas he ruled Babylon instead.Torbit could not have witnessed the division of Israel into the northern and southern kingdoms in 931BC(Tor1:4),and have been deported 200 years later in 734BC(Tor1:10).Ecc3:3 states that giving money forgives sins. This contradicts Christs' work on the cross. Jesus and the apostles quote 260 times from the 35 out of 39 OT books, yet they NEVER quoted the apocrypha.

  • the most high don't like you crackers ......Mal 1:4Whereas Edom saith, We are impoverished, but we will return and build the desolate places; thus saith the LORD of hosts, They shall build, but I will throw down; and they shall call them, The border of wickedness, and, The people against whom the LORD hath indignation for ever.

  • @zamboka Read Matthew 15:21-28

  • Rev 22:19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and [from] the things which are written in this book.

  • @zamboka how do you know this verse isn't referring to the book of Revelations?

  • @LuccasArilius Doesn't matter, man most likely changed revelations anyways.

  • This man is an embarrassment to the Christian faith. Some of his arguments are so weak he needs to use sarcasm, ridicule and a trained monkey who keeps saying, "That's right!" after every comment to convince his brainless followers that he is telling the truth. Just think, when Jesus said, Go ye into all the worlds and preach the Gospel... he forgot to mention that we have to teach Shakespearian English to every living creature.

    No love here just arrogance!

  • Hi Rick..... I would sure hope noone ever thought that I was a trained monkey as I'm usually saying the occasional amen back in my home church, but I digress. I'm sorry you don't seem to approve of the "Shakespearian" English. But it is English.

You may not also like the fact that for thousands of years people had to get the scriptures in Hebrew. Where's the outrage over that? Why aren't you mad at God for not keeping (approx.) 70 up-to-date language texts since Babel? Just reality.

  • If Paul says, Behold, I show you a mystery he doesnt mean youll never know. Hes explaining what the OT prophets wrote but were not able to understand. There's always going some people who need to believe they are the only ones with the real truth. I often find that "King James Only" people need to set themselves above others to feel good about themselves not realizing the KJV is not without error. Too bad this guy just couldnt teach Biblical history without having to use so much B.S.

  • The Apocrypha is not in the bible because its not inspired by God.Good to see God keeping his promise.I read the KJV.Amen

  • LOL the KJV had the Apocrypha in it up until 1860, it was the 1811 addition. The Apocrypha was in the canon from its beginning.Odd that 1/3 of the bible was worth keeping up until 1860, the bible the puritans came to America with contained the Apocrypha.

  • Comment removed

  • Says who.... A bunch of human translators?.... It was in your venerated 1611 edition.

  • the only reason the aprocrypha was in the kjv was the church of england translated it, catholic and the church in rome had every book it could lay its hands on circa 30ad. The protestant or rather the separated church from rome, removed them due to contradictions and discrepancies, a good call in my book.

  • @ofreshartist Amen. The apocrypha books do not claim inspiration, the writers are unknown and it was written in a different language to the rest of the Bible. No wonder Jerome plainly rejects all the apocryphal books from the canon

  • Is all you can do but insult? This is very sad.
