@elevatorman555 Unfortunately, they're nearly all gone from Brisbane. No one has any sense of heritage up here.
I can't bring myself to look at David Jones' since the lifts were desecrated in the name of progress - there was nothing wrong with the original vintage Otis control gear and parts are still available even now. I got video of all 4 running flat out during their last Christmas - 13BBLU control, #70 or 72 machines (I forget)
and 40M selectors, it was like a vintage lift museum upstairs.
@pyw304 I have to agree with you there - a lot of the oldies run a lot better than the newer ones, all that's usually needed is a little tune-up and some TLC. I would have loved to see that video as well.
Unfortunately, Spotlight Liverpool, who run this building, are moving out to Wetherill Park, and so this lift may also be modernised - see one of my latest 10 videos for a little evidence (I was on the phone with elevatorman555 at the time as well)
@elevatorman555 I don't know lol. Most of the time i just stumble upon one, and remember where it is ;). There are a lot of oldies in New South Wales, most of them are in Sydney and South-Western Sydney. You should come over here sometime :)
I got stuck in that exact same lift, but in the old spotlight building in Penrith!!
