    11s would be cheating :P

  • @timquanny normal daddarios EJj16's lights 12-53

  • omfgg xfactor, you'll be in the final (: i know its probs one of the gayest choices but you'd go through all the way !

  • @shibaboy

I'm gonna pretend I didn't read that comment.

  • He's a great guitarist. I'm not feeling this. He's playing the song way to fast and its just not enjoyable to listen to.

  • :D

(This is unbelievable, the YouTube machine says my comment is too short!)

  • What a *fantastic* feeling Gareth has for the guitar. Wow! Ive listened to a lot of finger pickers in my time, and he's just fantastic, head and shoulders above lots of pickers that I like a lot.

  • stAND STILL.

  • Try Scotty Anderson. Many think the humble, lowkey Scotty in the best in the world.

  • Scotty's good, but he does his on a Telecaster, not an acoustic. Acoustic's are about 10 times harder to play that way. Check out a canadian guy named Steve Pittico. He'd be my pick for best in the business.

  • what an incredible talent!!!

  • Aww man - why can't you just suck like the rest of us? :)

  • I love how he asks is anyone ready for the ending and this random guy is like 'go on' haha

  • I've watched this 19 times now and feel like I should move onto other vids otherwise the effect will wear off, but it's still going!

  • Once again playing something fast and slapping the guitar does not make one a great guitar player.

The problem with Tommy Emmanuel and his clones is they all sound the same.

With Chet you had Jerry Reed, Lenny Breau, Tommy Jones etc. They all had their own styles.

  • There is no problem with Tommy and the so called rest of his clones. Tommy continues ti inspire youngsters all around the world to play, This kid is also doing the same by the way I see other younger players copying his own mannerisms and wanting to achieve what he has done already. So is that a bad thing? To you maybe, but to the continuation of guitar playing, its great. Just sit back and enjoy it instead of being so negative and jealous. You have a problem for sure.

  • well i guess we could all take your word for it...i'm sure you are a respected authority on all things guitar...or we could listen to people like steve vai, eric clapton, les paul and many many more respected, legendary guitarists, who all consider tommy the best in the world and possibly in history, or to people like chet, who by the way gave him the C.G.P acronym. And who are these tommy clones??? If anyone has cloned tommy's playing, it certainly is not on youtube!

  • Well I can hear! If you want to hear this played right listen to Jerry.

There are plenty on youtube who do the same moves with all the dancing and head shaking and stuff.

Chet didn't have to do that to be the greatest guitarist that ever lived. Jerry was right behind him.

I like Tommy but he was not in the same league or in the same city mucjh less ballpark as Jerry Reed as a guitarist or entertainer or composer.

That is apparent from comparing the accomplishments of both of them.

  • @EddieEstes Why would you even compare musicians in the first place? The moves and and mannerisms doesn't make you a better guitar player, but if one weren't allowed to move around and feel the music at all that sure wouldn't benifit to the groove / playing either. There isn't any room for comparison or measuring of skill in music, I'm sure all of your guitar gods would agree to that. They sure would agree that Tommy is a hell of an entertainer too, anything else is blasphemy...

  • Does anyone know this guy has been only playing guitar for over four years? I've seen him in real life last year with my guitar class. Just incredible even in four years!

  • great picker, just seems like he hasn't matured into his own style yet, still too Tommy-esque, instead of Gareth-esque

  • Dear God. This guy is absolutely the greatest fingerpicker in the business. I stumbled onto this tonight and I am floored. Greatness. I wonder what Chet would thing or Jerry (god rest their souls). UNREAL TALENT.

  • This guys next in line of the thumbpickers dynasty throne and is worthy enough to be dubbed ''prince thumbpicker of them all by tommy emmanuel the great duke of 'wizardry guitar music'',to be in the thumbpickers dynasty one must practice for 18 hours a day,not an easy path awaits

  • I think it's exactly 16.5 hours a day! :D

  • this guy is next to take over from the royal society of thumbpickers and will eventually be crowned ''prince of the thumbpickers by sir tommy emmanuel ''duke of virtuoso guitar'',though it is not an easy quest but playing guitar for 14 hours a day helps

  • this guys next in line to take over from the royal thumbpickers blood line and will be crowned king by tommy emmanuel and jerry reed and all the thumbpickers out there

  • I saw this and a hell of a lot more at the Jazz fest in Montreal, Way to go Gareth, You Rock!

  • Man he's good! :}

  • dont even compare gareth to dragonforce! ever hear dragon force live? They are shit! they are just a studio band and shoud remain that way. This guy is a true musician. And for the sapping, it could be his style!

  • umm, jumpin and moving around on stage for a musician usually means he is having a good time. I mean, for someone to play that music standing still or sitting would just be plain boring wont it?

  • He's having fun going OTT with this. If it is okay for Lenny Breau to do it similarly OTT it is okay for this good young player. Personally I'd prefer it a bit more restrained but apart from all the slapping it was sort of fun. Tommy E can get carried away too with technique at the expense of the tune in the end. Apart from Jerry's original version the best by far IMHO is by the great Buster B Jones

  • hmm.. some of it is good, but gota agree with the two much slappin and poppin as someone put it.. and whats with all he jumpin and swingin about...? it aint dragonforce he'z playin...

  • hells bells!! superb.

  • too much slappin n poppin. Jerry Reed's the man.

  • Simply Marvellous!!!!

  • pretty silent crowd throughout the song:P probably not too many people there.

  • love this video :D

  • crazy guy :D wonderful
