  • 1 person have never loved a woman ;d

  • Génial!Grandiose !I Love ....

  • Yes I do, Love a woman so bad that it hurts.

  • Fantastic version of this song, Eric, Doyle, Billy and the pianist's solo were inspiring! This is how the blues is played - no doubt!!

    Thank you for the post!

  • wakawow!!

  • Bloody nice version !! Thanks for posting really great.

  • Clapton is still amazing!! I also wish I could go to Crossroads, but from spain it is a long way...

  • this is truly a great night .....everybody is in that space...

  • This is Bad ASS!!!!

  • doyleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee

  • best fuckin' blues that I ever seen! ;)

  • @MSBluessss Totally agree

  • Amazing stuff! i wish i could go to crossroads :D

  • you know the title of this DVD?

  • i'm affraid that Mr. Doyle Bramhall II is f******' GoOD here. and Mr. Billy Preston as well.

  • Both parts of this video are extraordinary. But if you really really feel the blues, in my opinion, the two best parts are when Doyle Bramhall finally moves up the neck to bend one string. That's number two. Number one is when Billy Preston sticks the piece of wood between the keys and leans back and puts his arms up in the air. Can you feel it?

  • at 8:39, the sound engineers autotuned his mistake. you can hear the mistake if you download the raw soundboard version of Crossroads 2004 off of the torrents somewhere (i can't tell you where because I dont know where ti is anymore). Just something to check out :)

  • this blows all away

  • EC IS an imitator...of Freddy King first of all.

  • Damn that was great!

  • Meet naughty woman mworld5.info

  • wow billy fucking preston

  • @Malosovich thats what i first thought after watching it for the first time

  • Insanity ensues!!!

  • You know you good on guitar when you can play left handed and the stings flipped around.

  • i not only watch this for clapton but for billy preston as well....that man is a damn legend

  • @ABFan19 I almost only watch this to see Billy Preston kill it. Yeah, everyone else is amazing, but there's nothing I like better than a well played hammond!

  • Hi guys!! Anybody knows the correct drawbars' set used by Billy Preston? I've tried with 000400007 (upper)...it's quite good but I've lost this "whao whao" effect 5:24!!

    Plz somebody help me!!!

  • man...i literally played the dvd of this concert so much its no longer playable...kudos clapton, kudos

  • I could walk all the way to San Franciso just listening to this beat. Be still my feet.

  • Great Musicians are making Great Music!

  • Just great

  • YEEEEESSSSSSSSS!!!!

  • Who's the cat playing like Albert King, left handed with strings upside down ?

  • @punchingbm : That's Doyle Bramhall II playing southpaw - He's from Texas . . .

(and BTW: that is Chris Stainton playing the electric piano . . NOT Billy Preston)

  • @punchingbm OOPS !! . . and that IS Billy Preston on the organ . . my bad . . ; )

  • i was going to write some epic analysis of this song and how great clapton was and all that jazz but then i realized it would be futile i doubt i can write anything to really fully express what clapton meant/means to me growing up and to this day

  • @flippenpinoi ...It goes deep..:)

  • Doyle, he can play blues like a good Texan.

  • This whole video, parts 1 and 2, are about as good as it gets. But if I was to pick the best moment of the whole like 14 minutes, if you really feel the blues, really "feel" it, then the best moment, is when Billy Preston puts the piece of wood in keyboard to lock the key in place and raises his hands. That is the best moment of all.

  • Chris Stainton is a top notch keyboardist, that's for sure. I differ from him when I solo on this style, but he is definitely beyond a shadow of a doubt someone I take influence from.

  • Is this very same show available on DVD ? In its entirety?

  • @janedoe1024 Found it on Amazon.com - Crossroads 2004

  • @janedoe1024 I have received my DVD "Crossroad 2004" now, an the entire show is on that DVD, also this particular tune, just amazing

  • I was lucky enought to be at this show and he really lit it up all day and all night! cant wait to see him in June at this years Crossroads concert.

  • grande Doyle! el mejor!!!!

  • Great Bily Preston....and now he is playing with God......naturally the skyes won more than us.

  • the left handed guy is just wrong!!!

  • this is exsquisit! love the piano solo and as for that hammond organ - speachless

  • Look at doyle bramhall going albert king here.

  • Hey ... what's the Album you take it from?

Just an amazing performance of Preston ...

  • You must hear the version from "One More Car" it blows this away. Whatever your standing near hang on to it when Billy turns it on. It's hard to choose between 'Hyde Park" and "One More Car" both GREAT versions. "Hyde Park" is done in the Chicago blues style which you don't hear from Clapton much. If your reading this you owe it to yourself to find that version, it will not disapoint.

  • @l2string how about a link?

  • this is the best version of this song ever..

and man how it hits home! ilysma!!

  • super musicians are superior performing super blues in a superior way in a superior top notch quality!

    Super!

  • Chris Stainton, Billy Preston, Doyle Bramhal II FTW

Doyle plays well here, but I think his best is on the performance of "Cocaine" from this show.

And then, of course, there's God Himself. What more needs to be said?

  • un-fcking-believable

  • the other guys just bends WRONG

  • billy ahahahahah yeeeessssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssss !!!!!!!!

  • billy was perfection and a nice man, too

  • Think something was lost there. Eric was on fire. Gave way to instruments, that are in my opinion, better suited to a mellower, but as intense, sound. I'm not trying to piss anybody off. Just how I heard it.

  • "mellower, but as intense" ...........how about u contradict yourself.....hahaha that makes no sense dood.

  • OMG, I never thought you could get so much out of a hammond...

That solo alone is worth the entire DVD.

Too bad he´s gone, too fucking bad...

  • I'm with you luckis1711. Billy was really one of a kind. It's a great compliment to Doyle that Mr. Preston is enjoying his playing so much. That is worth more than triple platinum.

  • billy preston amazing

  • Grande Doyle!!!!!!!

  • 8:00 , perhaps the most epic key change ever.

  • That was terrific! Before this, I was watching him play the same song in '99. He played a blistering solo 10 years ago and a blistering solo 5 years ago. Now I have to see what he can do today.

  • This Is Truly A Brilliant, Blistering & Stunning Performance Played By All!!! I Love It, Man!!! :)

  • RIP Billy...

  • Amen Brother

  • Billy Preston just kills me. There is absolutely NOTHING close to a real old tonewheel Hammond B3 !!! Period

  • Isn't the piano player Chris Stainton

  • wow, Doyle really has the Albert king goin on here :P

    thats usually a good thing

  • usually, yes. but here i think it seemed out of place... too subdued, not persuasive enough somehow, if that makes sense

  • billy preston = omfg...

  • Thank`s for posting it, I have enjoyed every minute of part 1& 2 . There is no need to say anything the guitar speaks by itself in Eric hands. LOVE IT.

  • look at Eric's work in baking up DB with chords. Gary Moore said once, that EC is the best at playing rythmn..

  • that bass player is really cool :)

he just loves to play :P always smiling xD

especially when they are doing those slides for fun xD

  • Nothing more to say and hear I can die in piece now

  • who's the 2nd guitarist?

  • doyle brahmhall the 2nd

  • R.I.P. billy preston

  • thats billy preston?

  • yep

  • I kinda like the fact that Doyle was playing different than others.

Nice and low :) On low strings and scales. Gives it a bit of a deep sound :P

  • Bramhall just expressed some emotions some people didn't even know still existed...

Don't bicker people, lol. Just close your eyes and feel it.

  • ...... simply incredible

  • I'm so envious! I wish i'd have been there, absolutely fantastic!!!

  • Doyle Bramhall II is not bad, but I think he needs stronger playing and he needs more of those, "DAMN!, That was amazing!" goosebump moments like Eric Clapton. Nonetheless, he is still a good guitarist.

  • make that 8:11 and on

  • For me, his tone at 8:15 is a perfect example of why he is God. Taste versus technicality.

  • Oh....

  • God Awesome, Eric Clapton is so great :)

  • Go EC and Doyle!!!!

  • What's also great and very important is the quality and vituoso musicians he plays with. They are class 'A' musicians.

  • what separates Clapton from all the imitators is all the soul he puts into his playing - which is why he is God.

  • eric clapton.......awesome....

  • Clapton 'Creams' all over the stage at the end! damn

  • This is why BB King, Buddy Guy and Jimi Hendrix said he was and still is best... This is soul, feel and emotions.. ;)

  • Oh My God! This a Musical Orgasm! OHH YEAHHH!

  • HAHA!! My thoughts exactly!

  • If you're sitting around thinking about 'pentatonic' scales ...you'll never be able to play blues like this.

  • That Bramhall solo... jesus..I don't think even Albert King could beat that.

  • nah i think he can lol

  • i agree alber king would win

  • so take that!

  • yeah, as i said before or in the other part thsi is pure improvistation. The chords are very simple, just a 12 bar blues in C. For those people that want to know: the chord progression is a I IV V ( for they key of C they are: C, F, G), dont forget that in the blues, this chords are usually seventh chords but in this song clapton is using C9, F9 and G9.

  • talking about scales, the pentatonic is the basic one, but the blues scale is even better cause it gives a blue note. Also it is very common to use major pentatonic. You can learn the scale but the same notes are located three frets behind the note of the key that you are playing, an example is that G major pentatonic is also E minor pentatonic.

  • @Stratolespaul80 for something extra I like to use the minor 2nd (D in this case) and the minor 6th G#) to get more flavor. to get that Dorian vibe from a passing note.

  • @SantomPh yesss, dont forget about adding the major thirds and the 6th in the minor pentatonic, thats very BB King

  • ohhh the late great billy preston he let us too early.

to kzearo it's on the Crossroads guitar festival 2004 it's the last track of the second DVD jus before ZZ Top.

to acv it's not the same scale as Layla it's only 12 bar blues in C...

  • Is this on the DVD?

  • He's using the same scale as he did in Layla.

  • Your an idoit LOL agaga what a stupid comment

  • Im telling you the truth if you know how to play guitar or have any musical knowledge, I'm just trying to help other musicians learn how to improvise in this song (C Mayor Pentatonic Scale)

  • Well it's mixed with minor pentatonic, too.

  • Yeah, but by knowing the key of the scale you can work out the song by using minor and mayor modes and the seven scale modes.

  • How about you get self taught and just listen and play, i only have ever been shown the pentatonic scale once, and i use minor, blues the list goes on. It just come through with improvisation and through hearing and incorporating other greats such as Clapton licks. Id hate to think of ppl who think about it technically, must be a bore :P

  • the pentatonic is the original blue scale though.everything sounds like zappa.hahaha.

  • Acv. Saying its in C pentatonic is very silly comment because you dont need to think like that with clapton, he only rly ever used pentatonic(blues) scale anyway...so why not just say something like. " Hey guys, this is in C " lol. Think thats were wateverman111's comment came from and i have to agree with him completely.

  • I think about it "technically' because you can add your own style into the song and not simply imitate clapton.

  • Clearly missing the point. I don't know anyone who said or even lightly farted against the subject of simply imitating Clapton.

  • layla is on d minor brilliant.this is c ma jor blues(mixed with c minor of course).

  • What an ending,,his best rendition of this song in my opinion...

  • It's nice how they go up to D in the last 12 bars...

  • That note eric pulls off at the begining of the last solo, fucking amazing.

  • Ooooooouuuuuuu ssshhhhiittt!! Go Billy!!!!! Go!!!!!

  • and here, doyle bramhall show's us what a great guitarist he is

  • hammond organ is billy preston. the master checj out some of his other solos

  • me too xD

one of the best music dvds for me

    thanx for the comment

  • Great video. I have this DVD.

  • who's the guy on the hammond/organ? He's awesome!

  • thanx for the comments, the guy at the hammond is the incredible Billy Preston, the best for me.

    luvd both parts

    thnx for sharin 5*

  • I had already seen the 2 parts ... But today I saw again! Besides the great performance of all the musicians, what makes me most crazy, is the satisfaction in the face of EC, the DBII's smile and B. Preston very relaxed (live forever through his music)!!!
