If we don't take into account the problmes the troops are causing in Afghanistan today(civilian casualities, war crimes ect), quite simply our proud history of independence is scarred by this presence. The troops have done nothing to help Afghanistan. Even some top-ranked officials of the foreign troops have agreed to this war being a "failure". Isn't 7 years and $ 15 billion plus enough to bring an eye-catching change in Afghanistan? Or at least lessen violence there? A very well-said speech.
she talks nonsense. what the hell is going to happen in afghanistan if US troops leave. it's obvious that pashtuns will massacre tajiks, hazaras and uzbeks please sonali think sense before you say something about withdrawal
In other words let's let U.S/NATO troops commit the massacres because they claim their doing it for freedom. The Taliban exists because of the USA/NATO.
It would have been better Spaniards or Frenchmen occupaying America in order to avoid American Civil War?
Karzai's regime and Taliban are fundamentalists. Afghan people need NATO troops out and then support for progressive and secularist groups within Afghanistan.
If not for the USA and their "freedom fighters", women in Afghanistan would've been able to work and study freely. But as the "freedom fighters" used to say: "A woman is better in the kitchen or in the grave".
I don't even know how to collect my thoughts on this. I want to support RAWA, even to the point of being part of a war, even to the point of being there and carrying a weapon. It surprised me, though I suppose it should not have, that they do NOT want the US "helping" them anymore, and they are horrified that Obama is promising more troops there.

I realize the U.S. has been incapable of intervening on behalf of oppressed people ever since we divorced our country from God in 1947.
But I'm trying to understand what the gal is calling for.
What do these women picture Afghanistan will look like if NATO forces leave?
Are they wishing things were like they were under the Taliban?
How would they propose things wouldn't become like that again unless the Muslims have a genuine change of heart (become "born again")?
