I bought a 2006 with 38K km... I'm a car guy as in I build my cars, etc restore, and I push them hard. Well this car was worth every penny. I have to say one thing, the transmission gears are like clock work. Most cars peak out, while this car even when you think it's peaked out just wants to go faster. In my garage I have a 66 mustang I restore and drive, and now I have this. I'm happy. oh its governed at 260 you might want to get rid of that. I will soon.
I test drove both M Coupe and M Roadster 3 times each for the past three years or so. And I still can't bring myself to trade in my E46 M3 :sigh: But IF I do, I'll probably go for the roadster since I have missed the open air driving even since I traded my S2000 in to the the M3.
I'm kind of glad BMW cut the coupe out of production and went with the roadster. Here's my fav list: 2007 911 turbo 2003 x5 4.6si 2009 jaguar xf super 2006 land rover sport super 2007 MB s550 4 matic amg 2003 m3 2008 m3 2006 330i sport 2006 z4 3.0si 2002 745i sport w/ 750 wheels I have always been a BMw guy and I completely forgot this model. For whatever reason 2003 for BMW was a great year of design. You can literally pick anyone of these on the super cheap!
@enjoi017 the golden age of BMW was 2000-2003 that was when every car they made dominated the class they were marketed in the. at the time the e46 m3 had the most powerful naturally aspirated 6 cylinder engine in the world, the highest horse power to liter ratio ever offered by BMW and, being more powerful then all non-Turbo or GT Porsche 911... it was a show stopper.
@lostaznking so the new 2008 m3 doesn't excite you or the 135i's? Perhaps the 550i Gran Turismo? BMW is doing great and Rolls Royce, the sister just jumped ten fold. Bmw is here to stay, I don't know about that 7 series though...but I hear a m7 is in the werks. 2006 was also had its perks, 2006 750i. Show stopper that you can pick up for 25 grand. The only grips I have with BMW is their v12's. I believe Mercedes has trumped BMW there for sometime now but the ghost is a HUGE hit.
@enjoi017 they excite me BUT not the same way as the e10 2002 tii or the e30 M3s. BMW still makes some great cars BUT they no longer dominate the market... no longer king. Audi has caught up with them and Mercedes has stepped up their game. i like the e92 M3 but i find it too heavy. the one series is a completely under rated car. but in an attempt to find extra profits and being an "everything" brand, they've lost that little bit of excitement.
like not actually but the epitome of what the 911 was....
like when the had the e9 3.0 csl... that was like BMW's first successful modern race car... and it was revisionary for the brand, then the e10 tii started a whole new class of car, the m1, the first m5 the m535i was something completely new for the market... e24, e28, e30, e34 <-stood out in their market and were marvels
in 2001 no other brand made a car better then ANY of the BMW's in their class
I currently drive an e46 M3, but the M coupe is my favorite car that I will probably sadly never own. I love the fact that its 2 seats, but its just not practical to buy for most people. I only like the hardtop as well. I believe the E60 M5 will most likely be my next ride. Would love to have this machine as a daily driver to work though.
In a internet forum there is a guy with a z4 alpine white with a carbon fiber roof and the m3 comp package wheels. It just looks sexy. Some one should make a vid with the HPF turbo kit.
