At the risk of sounding lefty I want to say something about the 'low wage jobs.' The thing is that after practically decades of CEO's and other executives seeking to cut costs in their business operations. It appears that all those efforts were more about raising the pay for the average CEO. The pay for one of these figureheads has grown exponentially over the years. Considering recent events one could argue that executives are being paid far more than they deserve. So if the profits arent there why are CEO's getting raises for a job not done and the average poor slob cant get a quality of life pay increase. How are pay scales set on a national average. And how is it that CEOs of failed, lying cheating stealing companies get pay raises? How is it that Congress can offer itself a pay raise?

Well I certainly understand the root of your sarcasm. But do keep in mind that condeming the outragous pay for CEO's today is not a call for a pay cap but a demand for a pay justification. If companies fail to innovate and prosper their CEO's shouldnt be given bonus upon bonus. An example about executive pay specifically was a statement that Capt Sullenberg made in front of Congress saying that pay for airline pilots has dropped over the years thereby not attracting the best pilots

Meanwhile executives had been receiving pay raises for 'cutting costs' for decades now. Sullenberg himself said this started with deregulation of the '70s. There are two extremes, one is socialism the other is piracy. The banks that failed were committing acts of piracy for years now. There should be regulation to the extent that keeps corporations in llne.
