  • Shinya Aoki's Judo was a Kosen style... so... he was never a nagewaza user from the first place.

  • look how a olympinc level judoka lose versus Aoki

    Aoki is just amasing fighter

  • sugoi!!!!

  • Finally the people who created the arts win for once. My rational is when people think of ufc mma or jujutsu championships today the think of brazilians and ruch rather then japanese. I don't know why. either the japanese don't win as much, or they do and i just don't hear it.

  • @dirosaga japanese invented it and most dont remember but people also forget that it doesnt belong to anyone so anyone can win

  • @l3054 Fair comment. But the reason it belongs to everyone and anyone is because Japanese were willing to teach foreigners (something not widely accepted among the Japanese for a long time). Remember that.

  • @dirosaga i have deep respect for the japanese theyre some of my favorite fighters

  • @dirosaga Japanese JiuJitusu was originated with weapons and war/killing in mind. They are generally taught never to take it to the ground because with multiple opponents that meant death to a soldier. I'm not saying it couldn't have evolved, just some food for thought :)

Also JJJ has some of the sweetest striking to throw combos I've had the pleasure to see

  • @DrVoltage1 ya i wouldn't say never taught to take it to the ground, but i would say are taught to try to avoid the ground if possible. After all, Bjj coming from Judo, Judo coming from Jujutsu, the techniques did exist. Also it depends on era, i'm sure. More ancient forms of jujutsu are battlefield and include armour (little or no atemi), but techniques changed to adapt to Bushi walking the street in non battle attire as time passed on.

  • Here he is losing, again with all the grace of a turd.

  • @insertsloganhere uhh dude you don't know the guy and one thing about submissions if you don't tap you will break a bone or sleep

  • He shows no respect for his opponents unless he loses, he "only accepts but never gives mercy".

  • Aoki has like 1 million of those flying armbar wins.

  • @AudienceKiller66 Truth. He makes them look so easy too.

  • Help me out guys.. if this is MMA I'm not questioning this. But there was a 'kick' (maybe unintentional) b4 the other guy fell... is tat allowed?

  • @jcyprianus I'm not sure what you are referring to as a 'kick'. Do you mean when Aoki jumped for the flying armbar? If so that wasn't a kick he just threw his leg over to lock in the armbar.

  • @LamTangGar Like I said, it may be unintentional. But if u look closely, at 1:08, his leg 'hit' the other guy head. I don't know if the rules 'allow' this but I just want to know.

  • @jcyprianus Yes the rules allow that. It wasn't really a kick so much as throwing his leg up to lock in the armbar.

  • @jcyprianus The leg is allowed to hit, yes. Even with no striking, there's often some hard contact in grappling. That's just the nature of the game. I've seen people almost have to punch their way through the space between the ribs and armpit to get the seatbelt grip plenty of times. Considering the many ways a flying armlock can go wrong, Aoki'd was beautiful.

  • @WhtMike2006 Thanks buddy.

  • @jcyprianus legs allowed to hit. he wasn't throwing an intentional strike, and the ref is smart enough to know he was going for a flying armbar not a headkick lol.

  • @BootyBot Thanks a lot everyone

  • Did his face hit the ground when he got caught in that armbar?

  • shinya aoki...is a badass.

  • Good im glad that happened. That Ali guy fought in the BLUE BELT division in Renzo Gracie's Invitational last year, what a sandbagger!

  • @DSGhST07

actually, judo black belts with no formal BJJ training are supposed to go into the blue belt division. so if he honestly has never trained BJJ, that's where he was supposed to go olympic judo or not.

  • @adamquerques where does it say that a black belt holder needs to put a blue belt in order to train or complete in BJJ?? There are NO laws, regulations, rules for that so the statement you said is not true. It all depends on the practitioner. I've seen blue belt judokas complete and win over purple belt BJJ guys and I've seen blue belt BJJ guys complete and win over brown belt judokas. The door swings both ways so you can't just say that. Maybe the dojo that you're in does that but most do not.

  • @adamquerques bullshit.thats not an official regulation,an olympic judoka would be a far tougher, fitter ,stronger athlete than any blue belt,by right they should go with white belts and would be in their rights to do so,but would be cowardly to do so.

  • @DSGhST07 can you provide video or some evidence of this? I am interested to see this.

  • @DSGhST07 sure he might be a blue in bjj but a black in judo, happens a lot.

  • Aoki is amazing. Too bad he is such an ass.

  • That was a nasty flying armbar

  • Aoki acts like a clown win or lose. No class POS he is.

  • @Notengoespacio

also, don't forget the size disparity.

  • @Notengoespacio Ya Marcelo Garcia is considered the best grappler out there right now.

  • not many realize this, but aoki is also a thespian of the highest caliber. for proof, look no further than his latest fight against hansen.

  • lol Aoki is such a nutjob.

  • Wow! With an ankle lock.

  • i think that they may have altereds shinyas comment to make the match sound more intriguiging

  • raaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas that was a great move

  • I don't know how they had Shinya Aoki's pre-fight interview translated into English.

Subtitle goes "I think losing is the worst thing and almost equals death to me" Aoki is not the kind of guy who says things like this.

He actually said "I'm intending to win when I get paid to fight."

  • @rainriders o fuck you!!!! shinya aoki hates to lose. He is very emotional. Im japanese so i know what kind of things he says in interviews and after fights. He always says he loves to make fans happy. And when he loses, he usually cries and says how sad he is to make his fans upset.

  • @THEAMAZINGVIDEO All I said was that they completely mistranslated what Aoki said in the interview. I think they've got no Japanese speaking crew and dubbed whatever they wanted Aoki to say. If you speak the Japanese language good enough, you should agree with me.

  • @rainriders true.. all he was saying is he really emphasizes on winning

  • Isn't Cameron Earle on the run from the law in Cali? Pretty brave of him to compete in public considering that the cops are after him.

Ladies, train your ankle locks- Cammy looks to be susceptible to them.

  • those charges got dropped.

  • Not that he should go slow, but I've seen literally like five times where he has just straight broke peoples arms lol.

  • its a tough call... do you slow it down in concern for your opponent, possibly him slipping out. Or do you go for the win and just go for it. If its a competition i say pull it, In training go slow.

  • Would be great to have more of this competition ...

  • aoki is sucha beast. I love how much of a dick he is celebrating haha. I dont like how he always tries to break peoples bones, and not let them tap though.

  • Its a competition, not training. You want he should ease into every submission really slow?

  • damn i heard a snap

  • Aoki is a stud!!!!!

  • smooth

  • É bom, mas quando enfrentou brasileiros tops no ADCC sempre apanhou muito.

  • AOKI SAN is underrated... many fighters sleep on his BJJ skills...

  • he also studied under eddie bravo

  • Marcelo owns Aoki.

  • Yeah, but Marcelo owns everybody.

  • very true... marcello is essentially incomparable bc he is soo good at Jiujitsu.... i am wiating for him to train more in MMA cuz then he is going to be the most dangerous man ever!

  • @esauofrensfal not in mma

  • @esauofrensfal Yeah but he didn't this time! He was in the tournament and he lost on decision in his weight class. Ok that was 5 years ago...and shit happens even to the best.

  • @esauofrensfal Marcelo only trains in grappling. Aoki is a MMA fighter and has the most effective grappling in MMA. In a pure grappling competition Marcelo wins but in a MMA fight Aoki has it easy

  • in grappling yes but in mma hell no

  • Better sportsmanship too.

  • shinya is Judo Black belt too

  • when was this?

  • w0w that was some sick leglocks.. it pays to be friends with the master of leglocks :)

  • BEATING ASS!!

  • shinya is awesome!!!

  • shinya is bad ass
