  • Too slow man too slow. There r better alternative to faceniff.

  • wow this blows you have to be rooted to get faceniiff. :(

  • Does changing password work?

  • I actually don't use public Wi-Fi, not because of security, but because I've found that the badwidth gets hogged and I'll get better response times just using 3G.

  • Comment removed

  • @thatsnazzyiphoneguy what is your case?

  • is this program compatiable with Windows Phone 7?

  • Just use 3G and utilize information-based websites on public WiFi. Browse Gizmodo or something and go on youtube over 3G and isolate your logins. 3G's protocol, as far as I know, is secure. I always process Amazon order and Wells Fargo sessions via 3G.

  • I will now proceed to use this at my school's wi-fi. Thanks Snazzy, good times are ahead.

  • Comment removed

  • So just firesheep basically?

  • Great video! Good to know!

  • @ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy what case is that, or is it a skin?

  • Change your password?

  • Really says something about Android's system for app approval.

  • @thepsit exactly.

  • Sooo, lets say I'm at home using my neighbour's internet(wi-fi) on my laptop. What happens then? O_O

  • @KomonoDragon You go to jail, or land yourself a tasty fine, because stealing your neighbor's Wi-Fi is illegal. :)

  • @ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy Well, I have permission from my neighbour because I had to cancel my internet for bailing out my cousin however needed internet for social networking and researching for school. I even promised them to pay a months worth or however much internet I've used but they declined and said I could use it since they had unlimited. Just worried what their children would do if they knew how to do this o_o

  • @ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy what if you have permission?

  • @ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy Not really his fault if the neighbor is too stupid to password protect it..

  • Comment removed

  • @KomonoDragon it's only illegal if you hacked it.

  • @JonasHSM Oh, but it was on "Open" and there were like three of them open. The one I used was also open however I let the neighbours know and they knew, and allowed me to use it temporarily(like I wasn't gonna anyways). And one of them was named "Virus" creeped me out. XD

  • @KomonoDragon then it's not illegal at all :)

  • does that work if i login from the youtube app or facebook app

  • Installed but when trying to connect it says l2tp VPN server not responding , deleted and reloaded say same thing. I'm jailbroke is that why?

  • Damn bro, Nice video!!

  • People who do that stuff are the reason we have to download these applications in the first place! Hackers are the reason some people have to pay for these apps!

  • How much does cloak pays you?

  • I just got the best plan for blackmail =D

  • what's your case bro?

  • So... Is faceniff available through Cydia!

  • HOW DID YOU GET ANDROID ON YOUR TOUCHPAD?!?! Can you show me how to do that? I hate how you can't go on Netflix or eBay

  • how about hotspot shield for ios?

  • 8 people got their information stolen for using public wifi networks without this app.

  • Now all people with android tablets will know how to steal people's info. thanks to Thatsnazzyiphoneguy. But at least thanks to cloak app we are protected. =)

  • look at this its the same thing as cloak but its always free. "hotspot shield vpn"

  • dang...

  • Hi @ThatSnazzyiPhoneGuy -- thanks for the awesome overview of the problems with public wi-fi, and of the GetCloak app. I'm Dave, one of the three guys who built GetCloak.com. It really _is_ scary out there; that's why we built Cloak! We're easy to find on Twitter (I'm @dangerdave and the company's handle is @getcloak) if you have any questions. Cheers!

  • I dint know if realized. You just reveled to all android user how to do that. Very smart

  • whats the app called? face sniff?

  • It's 11:11 at 1:24

  • plz can u do a review on the sony tablet s, thanks Quinn

  • Review of the Incipio Silicrylic Quinn?

  • the worst part of that faceniff app is if your at a hotel and someone is using the free WiFi for business means. you could steal information that could ruin someones business.

  • Wouldn't it be ironic that the same person that makes the app that can steal your login and passwords makes the Cloak app. I.E., creating a problem and creating the solution to the problem to create sales for him/her.

  • @wrassmussen Hi. I'm one of the founders of GetCloak.com. It would be pretty evil to do what you suggest. Good thing we don't do that! We see ourselves as in the business of earning your trust. So we hope you'll give GetCloak.com a try and tell us how it works for you. Cheers.

  • Thanks for the tip!

  • What case is that

  • thats for telling me how to hack into peoples accounts man!

  • just bought it ... thanks TSIG! all the way from singapore! :D

  • SCARY AS BALLS nice simile

  • Quinn, check out VPN Express on the iOS App Store. It's a VPN provider, prices and packages are really good.

  • I personally avoid open networks like the plague. If a network is not locked? I'm not touching it.

  • Looks like a very helpful, cool app. Thanks for the tip!

  • You can make yourself a VPN using your mac computer and lion server, then you get unlimited bandwidth (or as much as your home internet is). Cloak is pretty much just some server out there somewhere accessing all the internet for you on a different network, and sending it directly to your ip address.

  • @Epiclifestory GetCloak.com actually has many many servers around the globe, and has special technology to automatically pick the best one for you every time you connect -- no matter where in the world you are. Plus, you don't have to run a server or do any configuration -- you just turn it on and you're done. Cheers.

  • The app can't get the information when on a VPN because VPN's are encrypted.

  • This is why iOS is better. They wouldn't let someone publish a malicious application like this.

  • Great video had no idea about this

  • SCARY AS BALLS

  • "Android Tablet" We all know its a HP touchpad that you ported Android on LOL, but still is technically an android tablet if you think about it

  • Thanks for the info, Quinn. I'm securing all of my devices now.

  • What if you are already logged in from home and go to an area with free wifi?

  • What's the case on your iPhone 4/4s?

  • +1 for Cyanogenmod Touchpad! Alpha 1 or 2?

  • Holy vagina...

  • That's just scary.

I don't really want to try it out.

Isn't it illegal, even for "personal" use?

  • What case is that

  • @xxc0pE89xx its the Switcheasy eclipse

  • @airsoftguy97 It's the Incipio silicrylic :)

  • What case is that

  • Is there something like this for the iOS?

  • You just blowed up my mind and such.... well done

  • Oh god. That is scary as hell. I'm almost never home!

  • Thanks

  • Hey quin, now that I know the name of the app, I can use it...lol, you prolly shouldnt have mentioned the name.

  • Nothing appears under General... (and yes l did press 'install settings' in the cloak app)

  • hackers also use VPNs right?

  • will this work if your only using 3G

  • case?

  • Hey Snazzy,

Am I in danger if I'm on a secured network at my university?

  • @Azninvazn117 no your not.

  • @Azninvazn117 wait, I mean Yes you are

  • Apple has always allowed you to install profiles, even from Safari. It's mainly used for enterprises and deploying configuration on a widescale.

  • you need to root your android phone, lame

  • Very good video Quinn, this was very very helpful

  • This is why I SSH to my homeserver, and browse trough that. Much more secure and goodluck hacking that.

  • This was a great video i will get that app better 2 b safe an sorry. thanks a lot Snazzy.

  • You're nice guy

  • Hmm there are a couple of 1000 MacBooks, Laptops, Android phones, IOS devices on the network on my school.... The fact is i have an iPhone and not an Android :(

  • Im on android and I was worried about this so if you are too get Kaspersky

  • Peopl are saying that google should get rid of it but itz not on the market itz on the internet

  • thats scary as hell. I use facebook, twitter, and a lot of things at my school on the free network

  • LOL you should use that app at the library!

  • how are you using a HP touchpad with android?

  • @TheHackerMD HE has rooted the Touchpad and installed Android onto it. Also the reason he can use Faceniff is due to the fact that he has a rooted android device.

  • Dam ur late faceniff has been around 4 a while

  • does faceniff also affect laptops or just iphone/ipad/ipod

  • @jeromevaz14 It effects any WiFi enabled device.

  • @cyotheking thanks

  • YO does this work for PayPAL?

  • What case is that????

  • yeah, its really scary..

  • can you get something like faceniff on iphone?

  • Thanks Q!

  • Great informative post Quinn! Will it grab info for the PW protected sites you visit even though you get automatically logged on and don't enter your user name and PW at the time your on the public wifi? Would changing all of my passwords now, prevent access to someone who has sniffed my info before? Hope you can do a follow up to this video with any new information you can gather!

  • Comment removed

  • wait quinn, what if you are automatically signed in? lets say for example, facebook. what if you are already logged in when you connect to the public wifi? and lets say you go onto facebook. it's already logged in. are you still at risk?
