Why use brass? A cheap bit of plastic sheet would have been just as good.

Thickness, machineability and the brass is also inexpensive.

Nice. I'm building a cnc-mill myself so I guess I'll have to try this.

Where I worked a few years ago the screens were like 30"x30" and in stainless steel with aluminium frames.
