I think that there would've been much more potential with venom if they had taken a little different approach with it. I mean, you'd think an organism with countless millenia worth of knowledge would be a little more patient and careful? Imagine all the little sneaky things Venom could've done had he gone underground. The ability to disguise oneself so easily and all that strength along with all the wall crawlers abilities. Instead they made it more like a one time villain.

@khatack The symbiotes nature is to kill. It doesnt think of sneaking around that much or at all. It's a being that doesnt care or have any fellings.For example Carnage has total control over Casady which means that the Symbiote wont use any strategies it will only kill. But Eddie and Spiderman had more control over the symbiote! Which means that they can resist from killing people! That's why they call them selves we. But Casady doesnt have any control so it call it self "I"

And that is exactly why the symbiote fails to achieve the full potential of the idea. It's all rage and emotion, even if it claims to have knowledge and wisdom. And being evil isn't the same thing as having an uncontrollable urge to kill, and I would've preferred a more calculating and manipulative villain like the kingpin; there already is enough of those "I'm powerful and angry - therefore I'll cause havoc" villains in spiderman (frankly none of them are very interesting).

@MustyMarkus1 Carnage has as much control over Casady as Venom has over Brock. The only difference is Casady was a psychotic killer before he bonded with his symbiote and Brock on the other hand was a generally nice guy down on his luck.

Casady doesnt have any control over the Carnage symbiote but Eddie does, since Eddie can make the Venom symbiote do things his way! So he has more control unlike Casady. Eddie has promised that he would never kill someone inocent or a civilian! And does he? No he doesnt because the symbiote listens to Eddie. And in every comic I've read with venom in it, it says that Eddie has more control than what the symbiote has over him!

@calendrier22 I know I read in one of the venom comics that the symbiote feeds off of serotonin. it's a chemical in the brain that affects mood. in one of the comics, Eddie wasn't providing it enough of the chemical it needed and when Eddie fought bad guys, the symbiote would eat the brains of the bad guys to get it. That caught Eddie completely by surprise. At one point, the symbiote left Eddie and began attacking people on the street.

It varied between writers but in the comics it is pretty universally accepted that most writers including the originals who created the venom character portray venom as not only bigger and stronger than spider man but faster and more agile as well. remember whoever is wearing the symbiote is pretty much in black Spiderman mode. more power, speed and agility that standard Spiderman.

This was my favorite story from the 90's Spiderman! The Venom story was portrayed much better here than in Spider-Man 3. It was more dramatic and intense here. I consider the movie to be a watered-down version of the story, somewhat disappointing. Eddie Brock was more villainous and menacing here than in the movie.

Its Spiderman, X-Men, Batman, Superfriends and Justice League (the new one on Cartoon Network) Batman Beyond would be there, but a teen as Batman and Brue's role is reduced he's hardly shown he went fro ma billionaire to a cranky old man who had a heart condition that forced him 2 stop being Batman.
