Ha, I thought you were a total noob when you started it, but hell, you're a pro! Those slidings were awesome. Also, this is the first game in a long time where I've actually had the feeling of velocity. o_O
From the looks of things, this arcade game looks like a combination of Ridge Racer and Ridge Racer Revolution on the original PlayStation, albeit with better graphics. I assume the scantily-clad woman that appears at 0:28 with the big butt, leggings, and hot pants is supposed to be an early version of Reiko Nagase.
google youtube to mp3, theres plenty of websites that will convert the youtube clips for free. All you have to do is plug in the clips' URL and the site should do the rest. type "exh notes' in youtube and take it from there
Reiko Nagase may be the most popular and loveliest Ridge Racer girl ever. This lady doesn't cut it. I've never played Race Racer before. Much crazier than the very first one. Ridge Racer Type 4 is still my all-time favorite (though I did enjoy Ridge Racer V as well). Nice video, and congratulations on a convincing win.
System 22 is the board that powered arcade Ridge Racer, Ridge Racer 2 and Rave Racer.
It was an impressive beast in 1993-1995.
Even though it's older, System 22 was more powerful (greater polygon performance) than the PlayStation console and PlayStation-based System 11 arcade board that powered Tekken, Tekken 2 and Soul Edge.

WOw!? Ridge Racers Father! This is Bascially the First Version of Ridge Racer (just called Rave Racer) and Rave only came out for arcades. But Ridge Racer came out for PS1 and basially it has the SAME maps as this the only differnce,the music,the announcers,The intro and the graphics.
Damon6666: LOL - how can a single comment be filled with so much WRONG? I love how you've written it as if you're educating people aswell, classic.
I loved Rave Racer so much, everything about it was SO right - the music was fantastic too. Must see about getting this emulator running, I'm dying to play this again.
Rave Racer runs on Namco's System 22 arcade hardware.
the Rave Racer tracks appeared in Ridge Racers
on PSP, but the actual Rave Racer game was never brought home. you CAN play Rave Racer *emulated* on a PC though, with the 'VivaNonno' System 22 emulator.

GhostBlackwhite 8 months ago
@GhostBlackwhite
Yeah its a sequel to RR.
It came out before Rage Racer and only in arcades.
Rage Racer then got released for PS1.
SegaTriForce 8 months ago
@GhostBlackwhite
Rave Racer was the sequel in the arcades. On PSone it was Ridge Racer Revolution, then Rage Racer and finalley Rdige Racer Type IV.

Man I miss arcade racers. Even arcade racers today just don't seem to have the OTT gameplay and fun factor ones in the mid to late 90's did.

It's too bad Rave Racer never had a console port, apart from its tracks appearing in Ridge Racer (Ridge Racers in Japan) for PSP.

@Loader2K1
Rave Racer is basically Ridge Racer 3 (hence why the next one was called 'type 4' as in the 4th installment).
This game was only ever released in the arcades though. Although Rage Racer is kinda supposed to be the console release.

@Terramax: Rave Racer and Rage Racer look like two different games to me. Thanks for the info, though.

I think the 370 km/h is due to the fact that you can draft for more speed. Then when you shift down to 1st it somehow keeps that speed.

Well this is the Ridge Racer short track included in arcade Rave Racer.
Rave Racer also had 2 exclusive tracks,
'City' & 'Mountain' - they were completely different than the track in any version of Ridge Racer for Arcade, PS1 or PS2.

No. Wrong wrong wrong.
Rave Racer is the third ARCADE game in the series
1.) Ridge Racer (1993)
2.) Ridge Racer 2 (1994)
3.) Rave Racer (1995)
Rave Racer has new tracks, City and Mountain, that are NOT in the original arcade Ridge Racer, RR2 or any of the PlayStation1 Ridge Racer games.
The only ways you can play Rave Racer tracks are:
the arcade machine
run VivaNonno System 22 emulator on PC
play -PSP- Ridge Racers 2
