I never understood Quebec separatism. We are based on being a bilingual country (the majority of New Brunswick speaks French, we might as well make them a separate country). I don't call myself an English Canadian, nor do I call myself French Canadian, why can't we just relax and proclaim ourselves as simply "Canadian?

They say around here that Alberta gets stuck paying for Ontario and Quebec and we should split from the east but really if Quebec made it big on some kind of raw material I guarantee Albertan's would change their attitude lol. Just to let you know,,,, Being in the army for more then 2 years, I could tell you that a lot of Officer or (Ocdt)... French canadian would be proud of being part of the Quebec Army if they could. --- Experiance being attack with a CAnadian flag in the Dormitories and so as discussion at the military college by the our teachers.

I believe the English and the French already fought over the land that is now known as Canada and guess what: The English won. The french were welcome to stay but that did not mean it was THEIR land. There is no way Quebec should be allowed to seperate because whether they live their or not the land itself is apart of Canada and we bend over backward for the French, they should be a little more greatful, the English could have sent them back to France upon winning the land back in the day.

Culturally, though, we're not that different. Not more different than, say, the state of Utah from the state of New York. Or Alabama from Ohio. Or Alaska from Texas, etc etc.

Our religious beliefs are also different, because Christianity is not almighty here. Also, I'm not to happy about Canada shifting to the right to suit the Americans, as far as I'm concerned the left is the comfortable side of the bed. We really are fundamentally different.

No, I am saying that if Quebec separates, nothing would change except border lines. There would be absolutely no difference in political models, it is simply that some Quebecois feel that Quebec does not belong in Canada, so it wants to become its own nation. However, I highly doubt they would start producing their own currency, if you know what I mean.
