Beautiful, Joyce. Honestly beautiful. It's not about approval of others or critique. It's more about therapy. The courage to put yourself out there. "THIS IS ME!" Good, bad or indifferent. "This is me." But it's still a hard step to take. Well done. You should be proud of yourself. :-)
It is a bit like therapy... a way to vent. But at the same time I do it because I feel like I have to. I read--a LOT--growing up, and probably somewhere I read a book that said writing was a good release... been doing it since I was around 10... lol
All I can say is WOW. You can hear your emotion in your voice. I'm sorry if you've had to go through some hard things in your life, but remember that things do get better. Sharing your story with us, is just one small step to beginning a new life and finding strength within yourself.
Don't take it too literally... not saying that I have, or haven't, been abused by anyone in my life. Abuse comes in many forms. More often than not though people only see the physical side of it.
