  • This may be a stupid question but, are you saying that these rifles can't uncocked? If this is so, do you shoot a pellet through thus removing the oil or DRY fire a good quality air rifle?

  • @nobull60 For spring pellet rifles that cannot be decocked, we recommend that you use at lease 2 felt cleaning pellets to remove excess oil. Push them through with a cleaning rod or fire them into a safe direction with a safe backstop. We recommend that you never dry fire a spring rifle. This can cause serious damage to the spring, piston, and/or seals.

  • are there any videos on how to clean a RWS 460 mag? this only explains break, not under lever.

  • would this be the same procedure for nitro pistons also?

  • i thought u are not supposed to dry fire a spring gun?

  • @ATERIFA yea, i think they forgot to mention that you CAN'T dry-fire your break-barrel spring gun or you will DAMAGE IT. Make sure you put a pellet in there and fire it into a safe place if you cock your gun to clean it.

  • brilliant information, new to all this and i took a lot from that. Thanks!

  • should i use gamo air gun oil or hoppes lubricating oil for my crosman phantom spring break barrel's barrel?

  • this should work on my beeman rs1 right

  • wsat about gas piston aiir rifles?

  • with its also work on nitro piston rifle??? benjamin trail XL

  • Usually, I just grab vaseline, lube the rod up and jam it in the hole. Works for me every time. Danny said "take our cloth and waaiipe the bottum of yer ackthun off" what da fuck I put a few drops a SILLYcone one dat mofo. put a dab of vaseline on da skirts for some diesel power

  • Usually, I just grab vaseline, lube the rod up and jam it in the hole. Works for me every time. Danny said "take our cloth and waaiipe the bottum of yer ackthun off"

  • forest gump forgot to shave???

  • I did this, and right afterward shot it... perhaps that was a bad idea?

I've only performed this maintenance on my rifle twice, and both times it dieseled when i fired the first shot. Now it was kind of cool because it totally made the pellet brake the sound barrier with its extra punch. But, I'm still worried of what damage it may have caused. =[

Btw, yes... I only put one drop of RWS "CHAMBER" lube in the cylinder. I wonder if I just need to let it set for awhile before shooting?

  • Thanks guys great video!

  • can i use rem oil and reminginton bore cleaner on my air rifle

  • @TheIcoolable No, Rem Oil is petroleum based and could cause dieseling problems on an air gun. Do not use any petroleum based oils on airguns.

  • yes you can

  • you just drip oil in the holes is the camber thats it i put 100000 threw on and thats all ive done

  • I have a rws mod.25 I don't know much about it but was wondering if you mite. Any info will help. Mainly can I mount a scope on it & is it a good one?

  • could we use lub thats has putrolium in the barrel?

  • sweet intro with the gun

  • oops... I meant brass..Not copper

  • Thanks. just the information i was looking for. One question regarding the brush. Is it copper/metal ?. because i have a cleaning kit with a copper, plastic and a cotton brush. And im a little anxious about use the copper one.

Could you do a "cleaning an out-of-the-box-airrifle" video too ? And perhaps a disassemble, cleaning and lube and assemble video.

    great videos..voted and favourised..

  • What was the model of the gun that you were cleaning? What was the other one on the table?

  • Not necassary at all. But everyone has his own cleaning method.

In my opinion oil has no place in the compression chamber. The only part where oil gets near on my air rifles is the outside. But the main spring should be greased, as well as the piston and around seal. NO grease in front of the piston seal. Under high compression grease can burn the seal. Also really a small amount of grease should be put in the compression chamber. This way an air rifle is ready for at least 10 years use.

  • can u use WD-40?

  • @qwazzymodo191 No, do not use petroleum based oils in airguns due to the possibility of dieseling.

  • @UmarexAir can u use non petroleum based oil on all the parts or is it worth getting all the different oils ?thanx

  • @qwazzymodo191 We only recommend RWS oil or some other oil that is specially formulated for airguns.

  • the guy on the left was very important.

  • @guggsdugrass The guy on the left is a normal fixture in most businesses. He's the one watching the skilled workers doing all the work. He's the one who says "your break is 15 minutes-not 16 minutes". He is the overhead that usually cripples companies, he is a supervisor and virtually useless.

  • How to maintain the side lever available?

  • Isn't it really bad on these to dry fire?

  • At the end i thought you were going to dryfire! I would of freaked. lol

  • where can you get an "oil rag"? is it just a normal rag? and what oil do I use for it?

  • @Chopslord We recommend RWS chamber oil. (Umarex USA website, search for "oil" on the lefthand side, first result that says "RWS Airgun accessories") The oil rag they are using is a patch designed specifically for airguns. That would likely be the preferred type to use. (I have seen people use all kinds of different rags though)

  • @RT3sGuru whats the difference between a 100-shot and 1000-shot

  • I'd like to know why the RWS series of air rifles are so damned expensive. I know that they are a quality air rifle but come on. I can buy a handgun cheaper and some half descent rifles for what the RWS commands. Thought long but just can't justify the expense for an air rifle. Gonna buy a Glock instead.

  • @paininthe10 You hit the nail on the head: Quality. There are less expensive air rifles on the market for those concerned about pricing, but RWS has chosen to stay in the high end of the airgun market. If you are looking for something less expensive, there are plenty of non-RWS options available.

  • @UmarexAir Aw and that's my delema. I want the best but the price is steep. They have a limited lifetime warranty as well I believe. I will probably convince myself into buying one in the future.

  • @ImNewToThis100 We do not know the contents, so we cannot recommend that lube. In general, avoid any lube with petroleum in it on any type of an airgun.

  • how long before i have to change my spring ????

  • could you use WD40 for lubricant?

  • @frankvanoostendorp No, it is petroleum based, so it could cause dieseling. (igniting in the barrel) Also, it could cause swelling of some of the internal seals, and decrease the life of the gun. Stay away from WD-40 for air gun maintenance.

  • after the gun is cocked, do you dry-fire it or use a pellet to un-cock it?

  • never dry fire a spring rifle

it hurts it the same as you getting kicked in the balls

  • how about one for side levers like rws 48 52 54???

  • @elbarto138 essencially the same, although you will need to push the jag and cleaning rod from the muzzle to the piston, carefully not to hit any parts in the action.

  • I think Glenn has been sedated.

  • Comment removed

  • @dudrhkd7 maybe 5 min

  • well leaving it cocked for about 5 minutes is about as long as I would leave it cocked... But as a safety rule.... Your not supposed to cock the gun until your ready to shoot.

  • yeah I know but when you hunting you dont know when your gonna see a squirrel

  • @matt14x thanks 4 the info, cause i was planning on getting a crosman storm xt later on this year, i'll look for some next time i'm at wal-mart, THANKS!

  • so baby oil is ok to lube up air rifle spring break barrel

  • do have recommendation on maintenance for a nitro piston breakbarrell air rifle.

  • Can you tell me WHERE ON EARTH I CAN FIND THIS NON PETROULEUM BASED OIL W/OUT ORDERING IT ONLINE, it would be a great help as i'm planning to get a crosman storm xt sometime and would like to keep it properly maintained, Thanks!

  • olive oil

    just buy proper oil

  • @dudrhkd7 mineral oil or baby oil

  • @LearnToTurn7 maybe big5

  • @LearnToTurn7

you can buy some Rem Oil, at walmart, thats wat i use on my crosman storm xt and its fires like the day i bought it

  • If you are talking about the chamber lube, you should only buy oil that is specifically made for spring piston airguns, since it has a very high flashpoint. Using the wrong oil can cause more harm than good, ie, dieseling, seal deterioration, bad accuracy. Order something else when you order and the shipping cost won't feel so bad.

  • Do you guys have a video in how to clean a co2 air rifle or is it the same thing and where could I get those materials the video is very helpful but I dont want to do it in my 200 dollar rifle

  • Hey, i have a bottle of gamo oil, it says general purpose, but I saw there are lots of different oils for each part of the riffle, so I was wondering, where should i apply this Gamo Oil: Spring, Chamber or Barrel???

  • DO NOT recommend for air chamber. Barrel ok and probably mainspring. We usually tell customers not to use it only RWS to ensure it does not cause damage to the seals.

  • Alright thanks a lot, il be using it only on barrel and spring, and I will try to find RWS oil for air chamber, just to be completly sure.

    Again, thanks a lot

  • why are the cleaning pellets so expensive

  • just wondering if it would be wise to shot a cleaning pellet after the cleaning or just shout a standard pellet...

  • @4playpro dont shoot a cleaning pellet with a spring piston rifle it will ruin the spring. shoot the standard pellet and see if the gun is accurate

dont assume its not accurate if the sights are not sighted

  • @dudrhkd7

Not true...BEEMAN says the cleaning pellets are designed to be shot out of the barrel..that's why you use TWO pellets together in order to maintain resistance.

BEEMAN also suggests using dry MOLY powder on the mainspring, or MOLY grease..NEVER oil. Only oil the piston deal, and the breech seal. Don't use oil in the barrel except when storing the gun.. oil is the gunk that you are cleaning out in the first place!

  • this guy's voice made me hungry for BBQ food.

  • thank you for posting this, very helpful

  • for everyone that has watched this that didnt know how to assemble a air gun yes you can push the pellets threw but the products specify to fire it not to poke it threw because that will leave dirt led etc in there and when storing a multipump air gun to maintain the seal leave 1 pump of air

  • you comment like this "great Excellent and helpful.. now i must say some thing.. that people dont know nothing about "how oil the gun"....

The oils is not correct the work is not complete, i see a lot of wrong things...... alot...

but i know... they must sell they "oils" ......

I cant think that, a company like umare (RWS) pay for this video... just i can thing it.....

    -100000....

  • I agree, you can use 1 oil to do most of this except the main spring where you need heavy tar/moly grease.

  • wtf are u saying!?!?!?

    "umare"

    "they must sell they oils"

"people don't know nothing how oil the gun"

    man u make no sense!

reread your comment i mean whats the rush!?!??!

  • "I cant think that, a company like umare (RWS) pay for this video"

that contradicts what you have been trying to say the whole time

and what is with the unnecessary quotation marks everywhere

    no one said it

  • Excellent vid! Could you do one for PCP's. I already have the RWS kit.

  • Comment removed

  • thats great

  • where can i buy this

  • just about everything you see can be bought at Pyramyd Air Gun Mall, pyramydairDOTcom.

  • If u dont use your rifle a lot, It's probobly a good idea to do this every time after shooting.

  • can we do this with the rws mod 45:? and what type of oil do we need:?

  • the video was very helpful.
