CARY GRANT....i adore him, what a man.charming, classy, charismatic, great Actor,a real Gentleman and definitely very handsome, I would take him immediately ;)
"You forget I'm already a widow." "So was Juliet at 15." "I'm not 15." "That's the trouble--you're too old for me."
It's those exchanges that really make the movie. The chemistry between these two is palpable.
Seeing this, especially Audrey Hepburn's performance, makes me wish actresses today had the kind of presence that the ladies from the Golden Age of Cinema had. It feels like actresses these days have to shove in your face what women like Hepburn did so tastefully, gracefully.
this movie is so fun and romantic and exciting. Love their chemistry. I can literally feel Cary trying to act all "I'm too old for you this is inappropriate" but they're actually perfect together.

Cary Grant wasn't gay - you're thinking of Rock Hudson. They were both excellent and very popular leading men, but Cary Grant was not gay.

Her white-gloved finger in the cleft of his chin... "How do you shave in there?"
"Do you know what's wrong with you?"
"No, what?" "... nnnothing."
Of all Cary Grant's leading ladies, she got the two best lines of his career--and in one scene!
nauort23 1 year ago 13
@nauort23 I thought the best line was "How would you like a spanking?"
How would you like a punch in the nose?"
;)
