I'd like to see it splitting something like elm, that's gnarled and stringy, instead of straight grained ash, which will split easily (and faster) with a 2 lb axe. I have yet to find a mechanical woodsplitter that can split wood as fast as I can with just an axe (not a splitting maul), unless the wood is really twisted grain.
