  • To the guy who said he started in 73. (3.:00) you didn't merge into American your company was acquired by American. big difference

  • If APFA members are so unhappy with their current contract, pay, work rules with AA, they should give them the treatment these FAs received and allow these dedicAAted, hardworking TWAers return to work. Having lived in STL and as TWA elite and now an AA Exec Plat, TWA will always have a special place in my heart. Long live the TWA spirit. APFA is an unreasonable, destructive, selfish and self serving organization that does not represent its members interests. The TWA spirit will never die.

  • So where is it today - APFA, tommy Hutto Blake, John Ward and Laura Glading took it away. They gave away my career, my furlough pay and my retirement.

  • We are not wrong - APFA is not even a union - and you should be angry at the way the RPA was railroaded down your throats. A real union would have had a "me too" and "snap back" clauses that would have protected its membership.

APFA will not be here after this new contract is signed and we will get our seniority.

  • We are not going down without a fight. We cannot afford to lose a lifetime career because of one rather inept union.

  • DOL found APFA to have "rigged" the election in STL. The RPA lawsuit if moving forward. A recall petition is alive and well to get rid of Laura Glading. APFA is the poster child for a union gone wrong. We deserved fair treatment. It is now law that mergers/acquisitions can no longer make the employees the victims. We demand fair treatment and we will not go away. TWA was by far the better airline - we gave DOL to Ozark and would have done the same to AA F/A's if reversed.

  • I wasn't keen on this video. All we have is our union. Maybe it can be better but there is unity in numbers. And I think TWA has NO claim on seniority. We BOUGHT them out. It wasn't a merger. Other TWA people saw the writing on the wall and bailed and came to American. They shouldn't be penalized for the TWA workers. Neither should those of us who chose American to work for.

  • I know that Delta treated Western Airline F/A's poorly - it took years to get both pay and bidding seniority - but they got it. Reno F/A's lost all of their seniority with AA/APFA.

The IAM, as our TWA union rep - that they had never lost a day of seniority in all of their years - well that statement is not long correct. The IAM gave away our Scope and Merger clause in our contract, while APFA and AA promised fair intergration.

  • I've talked to employees at NW, DL & US. They say that the IAM had always made sure that the workers kept their seniority. They said, "seniority is yours and we aren't going to take it away from you. I wonder if anyone else knows of any other airline that has stripped employees of their seniority like AA has (I'm talking about a full merger or full buyout, and not selling part of itself like Pan Am or Eastern)

  • Give me back my airline, routes, planes, passengers and gates. Do not fly to Paris, Rome or Spain because every time you do its a TWA route and job you have taken. I find the AA F/A's the most illiterate and lazy F/A's in the industry. Retire - on what? AA took away my pension. APFA and Ms glading gave away furlough pay. You try to find a new career and pay bills. APFA is accountable for every travesty that has happen to us.

  • You gotta be kidding lady!!! Time to wake up and smell the coffee... TWA was Bankrupt a long long time ago... Maybe if 9/11 did not happen things could have been better, BUT, even then, your seniority would have been BOTTOM. It's not fair to cut to the front of the line...

By the way, time to go home and start a new quilt and stop the guilt...

  • Sorry Twa but understand we here at AA been working for quite a while and working hard and many hours to make our means... And you think that you can just come and go on top of me for my bidding no way jose.. I feel soory for you but at 60 years your age vaerage you should be thinking about retiring...

  • APFA is our union like it or not, move on with your life ; you are AA now. TWA is GONE

  • You haven't a clue about the status of TWA prior to the merger. We were making money. We did NOT have to declare bankruptsy other than to get rid of the Icahn discount tickets. We were sold out by our own corrupt CEO Compton.

Had TWA acquired AA - we would have embraced the AA F/A's and given DOH. We would NEVER have treated AA F/A's like we have been treated. Angry - you better believe it. Get on with our lives - not so easy to drop 35 years of flying and at age 62.

    APFA is a joke.

  • But TWA DID NOT acquired AA sooo

  • I lost 28 with EASTERN do you see me crying............ move on

  • ..disrespect towards us (AA F/As), our union and our company..

do us all a favor.....move on with your lives.

  • As An AA F/A....true we should have never bought TWA....big mistake.....however as a 20 years F/A, there is no way in this world that you guys should have your date of hire seniority intergrated into our seniority...I feel for you guys, but remember this....when you guys came to AA, at least you had a job.....your airline was about to close it's doors leaving all of you unemployed....

Don't know what you've achieved by picketing in STL, but the videos i've witnessed cleary show the rage and...,

  • Talk about wrong. With 30 years, I took a paycut with AA. And had the worst working rules in the industry. TWA did NOT have to declare bankruptsy, we were making money. You may know about Eastern, but you have very little understanding of our situation at AA/APFA. And if I had a job with AA - so where is it now? Best not to speak about what you do not understand.

  • Shoulda', woulda', couda.....'Time to stop beating a dead horse......maybe TWA didn't have to declare BK, but they DID! Maybe AA wasn't the only viable offer, but we BOUGHT your assets. Maybe IAM didn't have to waive your scope, but they DID.

  • APFA could have done what ever they wanted regarding seniority as there was no agreement prior to the purchase, and they DID. Sherry Cooper could have come to the meeting w/John Ward without demanding nothing less than DOH, but she DIDN'T. No more need for discussion.

  • Time to face reality. IAM sold you out. APFA did what WE expected them to do. So if you want to blame someone, blame the membership, because the majority was not in favor of giving seniority. APFA did not promise ANYTHING - AA did.

  • Now you know AA was talking out of their you know what! And to set the record straight you got full bidding seniority in STL and JFK, then STL......

  • give me a break, this is sooo wrong...as in the picketing, I used to be a flight attendant for eastern,,,and the same thing that happened with eastern, would have been with TWA reality check , if it had not been for AA you would not have had a job at all, when you went to AA you had a job, and a hell of a pay raise, look at Delta, took over PAN AM, and the PAN AM F/A had to apply for a new job with them Delta didn't take them all, so you should be kissing APFA , everything was due to sep 11

  • Thank you for your support. We suspected that APFA somehow did not count all of the ballots in a recent election in STL for the APFA Vice Chair. We sent an appeal to the DOL to have the ballots recounted - APFA was found guilty and DOL has told APFA that a new election must be held. IF this election was rigged.....

And yes we are forced to pay union dues.

  • I'm soooooooooooo glad that I don't have a union at my job. How in the world can a union take away seniority? Unions are supposed to represent all of their members. Did the APFA make you guys pay union dues too? Because that would be silly to pay union dues to a union that clearly screwed you guys.

If there is any help that I can give you guys in taking down the APFA please let me know. First off I would not pay them any union dues.

  • by not paying union dues, APFA reserves the right not to represent you...your comment clearly shows you have no union and do not know what you are talking about............

  • Then give us back our airplanes, our gates, our routes, our passengers. We did not come empty handed and the employees should not be made the victims of a merger. Please look at Delta/Northwest, USAir and America West. They all gave DOH - its right and its fair. TWA employees should not be punished for corporate greed.

  • I'm confused as to why these people feel they are entitled to seniority that other people have earned ? So what the TWA people are saying is that they should be allowed to carry their seniority with them to ANY company ? How ridiculous.

Giving seniority to these former TWA people simply wouldn't be fair to all those people at American who have worked long and hard to earn seniority at their company ! This sense of entitlement is mind boggling to those of us on the outside.

  • well said...thank you

  • Brought tears to my eyes

  • We brought airplanes, routes, passengers, gates and a wealth of international assets. We did not want to fly their airplanes - we had our own.

Interesting they were certainly and still very happy to fly TWA routes. People forget we had a lot of junior F/A as well. Explain then why Delta and Northwest just gave Date of Hire - because its the right thing to do.

We fully intend to take APFA down, and we will.

  • So when AA bought TWA you think they should have furloughed AA flight attendants instead of TWA flight attendants? Why should they loose their jobs? You would have put AA's flight attendants at the bottom if it had been TWA buying AA. It was a purchase not a merger!

  • Well done! what happened was discusting and should never happen again!
