  • @JustAnothaRocka I bet you play the guitar..... Why would someone be doing what he did 40 years ago??

  • @JustAnothaRocka sorry, what a stupid comment..."doesn't feel right..." because plant was involved in rock music a couple of years he should be doing this all his life? why should he still be doing the same thing as 40 (!) years ago...???

  • Im 16, I listen to people like Rihanna, and Lady Gaga and yet, I would have this over any of their songs. Any day of the week.

  • @LilWayneMetalGod that why he lost because of his stupid ignorant fans like u that can shut the fuck up I know that lil nigger is smart but it his fans like @LilWayneMetalGod make ever one else hate him and give him a bad name

  • she should be embarrassed that he has better hair.

  • This is the song that will always remind me of the love of my life, that I lost..... I miss you so damn much....

  • @monacojen lol

  • Love, Love this.

  • They look like two lions that are about to mate

  • @shadowperez You've nailed it! Love the song. Love the artists, but they both look "goofy" in this video. Ha Ha!

  • Great song but what's wrong with Allison face?

  • Raising Sand and this song in particular really strikes me as lovely and wonderfully written, heart fully sung and well recorded music. Great to have such easy access to such power, love and genius.

  • I like it! Both very talented singers; they voices blend together wonderfully.

  • @allanshawn I didn't remove my information from my profile. There was never any personal information to start with.

I still don't see an address, phone number, full name, etc.

And haven't you ever heard that you shouldn't bring a knife to a gunfight?

It makes sense that you would have a job as a truck driver because that requires little intelligence...

  • @allanshawn I see you are still ignoring my demand that you finish it by proving you are man enough to post all your personal information. And I see you still don't have the intelligence to make valid and logical statements. And I guarantee that if you weren't hiding behind a computer that you wouldn't be man enough to talk to me that way. What a pussy you are. Any pussyfied idiot can call names and make threats from behind a computer. And you truly are a pussyfied idiot.

  • @allanshawn I see your comment was removed, so I went to my inbox and read what you posted. You said: "Hell yeah i started and i will damn well finish it too mother fucker fagiit".

Okay, so finish it. If you are such a man, post ALL your contact information.

But you won't do that. You aren't man enough. So instead, you resort to name-calling. And all this is because I like Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.

You are so STUPID that you can't spell "faggot", nor can you make valid, logical points.

  • I'm not a fan of this kind of music usually, but Robert Plant's voice is AMAZING. I'm a led zep fan and I'm glad we still get to hear his voice today. He can make any kind song sound amazing.

  • @gailfreckles - i totally relate to your post. country music turns me off but hearing Robert Plant's voice makes it something very special. Alison's voice blends in well with his. she's obviously a good musician too.

? for anyone - did they win an award for this song?

  • @30fuVkingdollars

They won 5 Grammys for this album.

"I'm bewildered," Robert Plant said onstage as he accepted the Grammy Album of the Year award with Alison Krauss. "In the old days we would have called this selling out, but it's a good way to spend a Sunday."

  • Jeezus, some people get so wound up up over this stuff. If you don't like the music, then don't listen to it. The people who do like it, are going to listen to it regardless of what some angry youtuber is going to say, so why not give it a break? There are enough assholes in this world already, why contribute to the cause?

  • @miragemammaries Very true.

Allanshawn came on here attacking people just because they like the song and/or Alison Krauss. I confronted him about his foolishness, and he started attacking me. I kept on with it because I wanted him to keep showing the world what kind of person he is. And he did a good job of that.

  • @allanshawn "How must"? What is a "how must"? Then there's where you said "you are the one that listen alison krauss", which just sounds dumb. You are showing yourself to be dumber with each post.

I know you are too much of a wimp to post all of your contact information. I asked first. Yet you didn't post that information first. You are too scared to post all your contact information.

YOU started it by attacking people on here first. So it's up to YOU to post all that information first.

  • Not bad

  • seen him live this more

    than that

  • I liked him beter in zeppelin!!

  • I dnt like

  • an angel and a devil.steel stairways.

  • First time I heard this song was a few minutes ago on the radio and it sounds great

  • These two are fabulous, together and solo, two class artists.

  • I enjoyed this.. Both people here, very talented, did a very nice job on this..

  • AWESOME!

  • I truly love all kinds of music and I also love Robert Plant, past, present, solo and of course Zeppelin days. This album is the shiznit!

  • MAN, there's a bunch of hypercritical jackwads on here!!So what if Roberts style or performance aren't the same as the good old days of Zepplin...This isn't Zepplin. You don't know the man or how he's evolved as an artist. It's shallow & superficial to pigeonhole artists of any kind.If you don't dig this music, fine go listen to something else. But if all you got to say is a bunch of negative bullshit, you're actually sayin more about yourself.

  • @Telefunkin47U WTF? Shut ur mouth.

  • I know I'm late, in posting I've not heard this album but its a nice version but I think I prefer the original on "Walking Into Clarkesdale

  • yall all damn tone deaf asses

  • 88 bieber's fan

  • I LUV ROBERT PLANT!

  • I LUN ROBERT PLANT!

  • I dont like song like these but i can hear this for hours just because i want to hear Robert Plant singing forever and eve!thumbs up if u r hear for the same cause!!!!!

  • I really wanted Robert Plant to sing song like that because i knew his voice will really have calmness like this long have .

  • i cant believe this crap won record of the year

  • @shmazy86 : Ummm....

    Crap???

Which song are you listening to?

  • im listening to this garbage by plant and krauss. tell me whats so special about it ?? coldplay viva la vida is a way better song. there not even singing its like there talking softly to some music. its not a catchy tune there is nothing at all in this song that stand out or makes me say "wow thats a good song" i think its by far the worst song out of all the ones nominated for record of the year in 09. iv heard better music than this listening to kareokee at the local bar

  • @shmazy86 Ummm . . like so many things, if you don't know, telling you ain't gonna help. Has anyone ever been convinced to like a song by someone else's explanation? If you can't tell the difference between "talking softly to some music" and "understated vocals," you're beyond hope.

  • your right your not going to convince me this shitty song is good maybe you should take a look at the comments and see how many people agree with me

  • @shmazy86 If you think it's shitty, why do you even bother being here listening to it, and spend your time posting negative comments? Just saying!!!! Go listen to Bieber

  • Well...this song isn't 'ad,' and I like Alison Krauss all right, but this is not her best song, and this in no way should have won record of the year over Bleeding Love; that was clearly the most successful song of the year, maybe if Viva la Vida won I could kind of see that, but I really don't understand why this won.

  • this is literally the worst song to ever win an award....there record still hasnt sold a million copies and this garbage song doesnt even have a million hits.....antoine dodson with Hide ya kids Hide wife is a much better song

  • @bmatt001 fuck u does not matter if its popular . most people think mainstream music is good even though its not ,it just that those people are followers (DICKRIDING) of a large crowd that think dumb shit.

  • im literally reading the letter that he wrote- IT SCARRED MY SOUL WITH ITS INTENSE BEAUTY

  • They were amazing together. Saw them live and literally had tears brought to my eyes. They were mesmerizing!

  • dey r married and have 5 kids!!

  • Worst Record of the Year winner EVER! This beat out Viva la Vida.

  • still not comparable to his days with Zeppelin...

  • I saw them in concert, front row seats and when I heard the way they sing together i got chills. They are truly some of the best musicians ever to walk the earth. Especially their version of Black Dog. simply genius!

  • This whole album is absolutely wonderful without a weak track. Must buy by anyone who like either or both(like Me).

  • I love Alison Krauss's voice! No wonder she has got 26 grammys! She is also a great fiddler! Love you Alison!

  • What an incredible blend of sounds. So talented in their own rights, and so wonderful when put together...

  • Robert Plant is still Hott! His voice is still great! Great song, their voices together are like butta!

  • To those who don't like this song...let it be understood that these two ICONS are legendary in their respective genres of music. With that said, the union of these two "greats" has created a masterpeace with this song. If you don't understand what I'm saying, then you don't recognize great music and unfortuneatly have missed out on a awesome, enjoyable piece of art.

  • @tlt61

That old chestnut huh? "Don't like it? You don't get the art."

Get over yourself, you pretentious knob. Some people just don't like the song.

  • @darnok0611 Just another illiterate loser waiting for another Obama handout! Keep surfing the web while eating welfare handouts and gathering fat-cells.

  • @tlt61

    Wow, very witty!

    Couple of problems though:

    1. If I was illiterate, I wouldn't be able to read or respond to your quality comments.

    2. If I were to live in the States I would be eligible for "Obama handouts". As it goes, I don't so I'm not.

I guess you "artistic" souls don't care much for thought before you post though huh?

  • This is in one of my top 20 FAV songs of all time... YAY! keep it up

love songs are the best.... make the world a better place if people

    could live by love!

  • robert plant of led zeppelin i cant belife it he very good still but it was aweosme on led zeppelin he's voice and the way they rocked it up

  • This is so beautiful! Their voices blend perfectly.

  • if this song dosen't touch you deeply,...you have no SOUL......

  • love this... great song. <3

  • This song was orignally written by mr. page and mr plant, i would have loved it to go down as a zep classic alongside going to califonia and that's the way, alison did a great job but page just would have been more sexier

  • @WKHalford just by reading some of your comments, I can tell you have some sense, and taste in music. I salute you for that my good sir. Extraordinarily beautiful song..

  • Don't be ridiculous; please just heat the fuse block. And, what are these statues doing here?

  • I had no idea who he was until I read the comments, just to be honest. I thought he was much younger from the sound of his voice. And she does my favorite song in the world: "When You Say Nothing At All." They work well together, but this vid was a little too weird for me. I understand it, but it just kinda creeps me out.

  • @allanshawn Alison Krauss is a classy lady, having pleasant qualities and good character, which is lacking among so many female singers of any genre today. WHY would a so-called "man" like you be so against Alison Krauss?

And YOU have the nerve to call ME a dumbass?

Your responses on here show EXACLTY what kind of foolish idiot you are.

  • @allanshawn This song isn't JUST Alison Krauss. It's also Robert Plant of Led Zepplin.

So if listening to Alison Krauss make me a dumbass, then what does that say about YOU, who obviously came here and listened to her?

I bet you wouldn't be talking to me like that if you weren't hiding behind that computer. Go ahead, prove you are a man by posting ALL your contact information on here for all to see. Then let's see how long you run your mouth.

  • @ChaveeGroove Really? Better than who?

  • @LilWayneMetalGod Lil Wayne? You mean rap crap? I don't know about Lil Wayne personally, but I do know that so many of the black rappers are anti-white, yet that sure don't mind when ignorant white people spend money on their trash.

And learn how to spell. That gangsta slang makes you sounds even MORE stupid. It shows the kind of idiot you are.

    What a FOOL you are.

  • I never forgot this song; it was worthy of a second treatment. _Walking into Clarksdale_ was way underappreciated.

  • fine harmonies...mr plant sure is an eclectic genius

  • A bottle of red wine a wee j and a roaring fire cuddled up with my beautiful wife listening to Raising Sand cd. Thats the life.

  • Haha i was literrally just goin to bash this song but then i listned to it and am dumpfounded at how harmonic this is. I also smoked a bowl though hahaha

  • @LilWayneMetalGod

man i haven't a clue where to start, have you any idea how many albums Robert plant, Alison Krauss, and Jimmy page have sold in comparison? You do realise who Robert plant and Jimmy page are right? Those "old dried up singahz" (loving the English by the way) are some of the best musicians in history mate!

  • gaw...i love love LOVE this song.

  • it's only fitting a KIng of rock like elvis,, and the Queen of bue grass united

  • Dolly says Alison Krauss has perfect pitch :-)

  • I love the lyrics to this song...

  • I love the voices together, but I am sorry that video kills it for me. It was too cheesy. It goes along with the song but they coulda done something a little more original if ya know what I mean.

  • Allison Krause is more beautiful at 40 than she's ever been in her life.

  • I think this shows just how amazing they both are. I always knew Robert was amazing because of his past, but I didn't realize how much I would like the blending of their two voices. Just great. They should feel very comfortable with this.

  • Two of the greatest vocalist in popular music together.

  • beautiful harmony!!

  • beautiful!

  • Nice video. Great imagery.

  • this is a very hard song for me to listen to. i burnt this on a cd for my oldest brother he died the very next day little did we know that was the very last song he would hear. he loved led zeppelin i kept telling him it was very good he would say no way after he listened he liked it alot then he was gone.

  • @94donnacone

Sorry to hear that, your post choked me. Sorry for your loss.

  • I love Robert Plant, and Alison Krauss is growing on me.

  • good god.....i never seen such stupid comments in all my life!!!!!!!!!!...stay the F**K off ROBERT PLANTS PAGE.....ALL OF YALL!!!!!!

  • Great version; but it's unfair to compare it to what was recorded for "Walking into Clarksdale, the chemistry between Robert Plant and Jimmy Page cannot be equated to what is shared with Alison Krauss, it changes the song entirely. I think they're fantastic.

  • Very interesting how such a nice song can start such fights among everyone personally I like this version of the song much better than the other versions. And whether it be whispering in the lowest voice possible or screaming its all considered singing as long as it is to music. ( take this song for instance it would be the whispering and then take a song like I don't know INDEPENDENT Screamo version both to me very good and both to me still classified as singing) but this is a good song. ^,..,^

  • great song..love them...check out alison with john waite Missing you sounds wonderful..

  • wow. mature a little before you post. there is loads of chemistry here. mature meaningful chemistry. reach a certain age or maturity and you will get it. It's something so worth the wait.

  • why do you waste your time writing if you're just going to shit on something?

  • Why can't some of you just appreciate good music. If you don't like it - don't listen! No reason to bash what you can't appreciate. So sad for you. I would have liked to hear more from Alison on this song, but her violin performance is beautiful. I also applaud Robert Plant on his wonderful effort to branch out - great job! He has even more talent than we knew he had to give. Please keep giving us more of this!

  • @allanshawn calm down

  • @allanshawn And if you do stick it in her ass, make a video... Alison Krauss is freakin' gorgeous! :D

  • @allanshawn Well... at least we all know you have no musical ability by your lame comment.

  • @hazelmay64 atleast we all know you think whispering is singing

  • @allanshawn And your qualifications come from where? I sing professionally.

  • @allanshawn <---- looking for negative attention. BWAHAHAHAHA!!!! Uh, duh....

  • Comment removed

  • @allanshawn You have no taste in music. And what do you listen to, rap crap?

It sounds like you have a fetish with things up the ass.

  • robert plant is a true talent and a one of a kind vocalist. say what you wish but this song is awesome. i love alternative rock, classic rock, metal, and much more. this song speaks out in both a musical and lyrical way-period. with me? give a thumbs up...

  • robert plant is a true talent and a one of a kind vocalist. say what you wish but this song is awesome. i love alternative rock, classic rock, metal, and much more. this song speaks out in both a musical and lyrical way-period.

  • An excellent song from an odd coupling.

  • Alison is hot in this video,,,,it's true :)

  • Occult star info at jagball22 -- Thank you

  • @LilWayneMetalGod

    Ay?

    You're embarresing yourself.

    Listen.

Do you know who Robert Plant is?

  • @Wankshaftsbury

He was the leadsinger in Led Zeppelin

  • @LilWayneMetalGod

    Ay?

    You're embarresing yourself.

    Listen.

  • Love this...he is still as handsome as ever!

  • they make an awesome couple

  • @LilWayneMetalGod HAHAHAHAHAHA Yes let's go with that one ;D

  • This song has touched a nerve in my soul. Awesome songwriting n a classic in my mind. Thanks to all those who contributed to this collaboration.

  • @Bruiex One time, when I was 9, my drunk stepdad touched a nerve in my penis.

  • TOTALLY amazing Cd. Thanks!

  • correction this song was originally on Walking Into Clarksdale. a Page and Plant album

  • this song is actually written by Plant alone not Plant and Krauss. This song was originally on either a plant solo album or the Page Plant unplugged album. with that being said, I think its better with Krauss as a duet.

  • @bellhour234 They don't have chemistry in the video because they aren't supposed to be THERE. They are existing in two separate memories in the same house and aren't supposed to know the other is there. You are a FOOL

  • @bellhour234 are you a retard? She is harmonizing. You are a fool.

  • @bellhour234 This message is also for 'allanshawn'.

Do more of an appraisal of a gifted singer's career and capabilities before you trash and trivialize her. Alison can knock walls down with her vocal projection whenever she would choose to do so. Proof?

Enter: Alison Krause, Atlanta as a video search term and select the first video that appears in the list. Enjoy.

And try not to be so relentlessly arrogant, both of you. If you dislike a singer, that's fine. Don't try to bury them.

  • He Is the Best!!! I love this song....And Radio 2 know it with the concert

  • I love this. Robert Plant is why i love zeppelin, and im so happy that he is making more music. I will take this regardless (im not a huge country/bluegrass fan even though led was inspired by it. Still awesome)

  • His voice is wonderful.

  • These two made what think is one of the best albums ever. They were musically made for each other. I love them.

  • hes old and has a perm ew

  • @doug55555 you are an idiot

  • @doug55555

I love that he is old and hasnt had a face lift. His face is beautiful. You can see the years, experience and wisdom.

  • @bellhour234

oh please....give me a break. This entire cd is fantastic

  • @bellhour234

This album has sold alot of copies and won some awards.

It would seem you are outvoted

  • @bellhour234 Like I said...you don't even realize why. Or what it seems. Hahaha

Btw ya sad sod...re your "argument"..

    watch?v=8t4_lw_bRrI&feature=related

    watch?v=f1nG1TZkauc

  • I don't agree that they have no chemistry, bit there is one thing: Robert Plant is Legend of Rock music, no one can sing with him on same level

  • @bellhour234 ROFL Hon, you are such a dimwit you don't even realize why this comment betrays that you are nothing but a sock puppet troll.

  • i luv it

  • @DMSteller87 No worries "people" aren't. It's just the troll voting for himself under ,no doubt, many sock puppet accounts. One of them being Allenshawn.

I have met his sort on Youtube and they often use dozens of accounts. There's one over on the Maria Callas videos who so far used at least 14 different accounts. But one has to be confronted several times with such individuals to even vaguely be able to imagine the existence of such major losers. ;)

  • @DMSteller87 People will go a mile to criticize, but won't take 10 steps to compliment. I was never a Led Zepplin fan, nor Robert Plant fan. I do agree he has a great voice, and it think Robert and Alison created a great album. I don't really do live much, except for Lara Fabian, Richard Marx, Chris Rea, Dolly Parton, Celion Dion, Emmylou Harris. I get what lunardancing is saying though about live not being like a studio recording, you have all the other elements to change the sound & quality.

  • Alison Krauss and Robert Plant = A GRAMMY AWARD!!

  • I'd read your letter Robert! You have the most amazing voice and I'm loving you're latest "Band of Joy" The album name really sums up what you have blessed us with all my life. Joy. Thank you, and please hang off retiring. You will get frree bus fare soon like Jmmy does! In America they have AARP. Sucks to get old, but, who better to grow old with. If only in my mind.....

  • @bellhour234 come on have an open mind and some respect for people doing want they want as musicians

  • @bellhour234 well maybe but this all comes from plants love of american folk music

hey she won best vocalist like 5 times in like 6 years

  • @bellhour234 well maybe but this all comes from plants love of american folk music

  • lady gaga!?!?! why would a music icon like him want to share a song with that ...hog

  • lady gaga!?!?! now that is just dumb. he is a music icon , why would he want to share a song with that...hog . some people will believe anything

  • @bellhour234 ...they have great chemistry, your comment is quite silly.

  • beautiful version... thank you for posting

  • i heard that origianlly robert plant wanted to do this song with the Lady Gaga but she declined being that he was so old and that she would have felt like she was singing with her grandfather. probibly for the best though, he is over his best days and just in a cruising mode now. wouldnt want him to bring the Lady Gaga down with him on his decline you know. just my opinion. KISSES!!

  • @craismith you shouldn't believe everything you hear.

  • such a beautiful song.

  • @bellhour234 I know for a fact she can sing loud enough. When Alison sings louder her voice gets clearer...a perfect instrument. Robert Plant himself stated when Alison lets loose, harmonics fly and the rafters actually ring from it inside concert halls. I have heard her first hand on numerous occasions hit the notes Mr. Plant speaks of.

Of all the women in the world Robert Plant could have chosen to sing with, he chose her...and for all the reasons above... and then some!

  • This is a haunting but beautiful song. It's soothing yet engrossing. A song like that cannot be duplicated by the mainstream pop culture. Krauss and Plant are a marriage made in heaven. Truly a remarkable and distrurbing piece of music. By the way, Krauss can stand on her own. Listen to the live version of Battle for Evermore"

  • @stevenmarm agree w/ your comments. Killing The Blues and Trampled Rose are great as well :)

  • Comment removed

  • Hey allanshawn...get a friggin life dude! Just about every Alison Krauss video on youtube has your idiotic negative comments attached to them. Suggestion.......If you don't like her then stop watching the videos!!! Nobody gives a crap about your opinion, especially when you compare her to Barney Fife....what a moron!

  • @515tuber I noticed that also,He seems like he's jealous of her especially when she sings with Robert Plant. I think he secretly wishes he was her singing with Plant!

  • to me..not a fan of either..but a dam good song and sung very well..
